  6. Coaches, I created a shareable google sheet that I thought might be helping for filling dates during this Covid season. If you click on the link below, you can add in dates that you are looking for a dual or competition. I went ahead and added a couple for Indy. I thought this might be helpful as we work through the season and events/matches start to get canceled. I know a lot of us will be looking to fill those spots on short notice. Maybe having a centralized location to house these dates/requests might be helpful. Instead of emailing the entire state asking which teams are available, you could check the spreadsheet and see who is available on those dates. If someone has a better idea/suggestion, I am totally open to it. Just thought I would get things started. Independence has a couple dates listed on there currently. There is a separate tab for each day of the season. You can post if your team is looking for duals and/or tournaments. Have a great week! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/149S3r1rreU3fDVu09_StdTQRDVe1FlZ-QXfuXdTPfAY/edit?usp=sharing

  8. Independence High School (Thompson’s Station, TN; Williamson County School System) is seeking applicants for a Head Wrestling Coach for the boys and girls wrestling teams. Applicants are strongly encouraged to search the Williamson County School System website (see link below) for current job openings. While it is preferred for the Head Coach to work within the system, it is not required. Williamson County School Job Openings: https://www.wcs.edu/employment/employment-opportunities/ Independence High School was opened in 2004 and since that time has established a strong wrestling tradition in Tennessee. Notable accomplishments include: · Qualified for the TSSAA State Duals 9 of the last 13 years · Top 4 Finishes at the TSSAA State Duals and Individual Tournament · District Duals Champion or Runner up 11 out of 13 seasons · 6x TSSAA Individual Team or Dual Regional Championships · 6 TSSAA Individual State Champions · 43 TSSAA State Medal (23 boys, 20 girls) · 120 TSSAA State Qualifiers (95 boys, 25 girls) The Independence High School Wrestling program benefits from a strong feeder programs at the youth and middle school levels, wrestling booster club, and ongoing fundraising opportunities that average $30,000 per year. Monies raised offset the cost of sport participation fees, season travel, tournament registrations, off-season opportunities, and a capital campaign for building a wrestling room.
