  1. Not sure it would be an upset if Cleveland wins. They are very good team and they move very well without the ball. Midfield is very strong distributing the ball to the outside mids and they (outside mids and forwards) move without the ball extrememly well. They are a very good team. I haven't seen Brentwood play this year, so it's very hard to make a prediction. I think Cleveland may win this game. You can tell they didn't loose anyone from last year.

Not sure what you look at when you consider who is the favorite, but typically a 21-0 team is the favorite over a 18-5 team. Dont get me wrong I think this will be a good game, any game this late in the year is, but if Cleveland wins it is most definitely an upset and I'm certain.

I'm surprised at the picks against Brentwood. I believe they are 21-0 and I haven't seen them in person this year have a team come even close to the same zip code as having 50/50 possession. They will dominate possession 80/20. Any team that hopes to upset them has to pray their goalie who is going to get bombarded with shots has an MVP performance and that the couple of rare opportunites for shots on Brentwood will go in. Basically, a perfect game.

Amen to that. Not to mention the fact that TN teams have scored 2 goals on team this season....you have to get more than lucky to put one in on a good veteran defense and good verteran goalie. It could happen but I'd say Brentwood has much more of a chance than Cleveland to score.

A good game, but I'm pretty sure someone has called an upset on every single one of Brentwoods games this season and they have held strong. Is it possible? Yes, but unlikely. Brentwood will have to really mess up and not play like the 21 and 0 team they have played like all year. I cant wait for the game.

  2. 7 seniors, only 4 started so a good amount coming back but thats not to say watch out next year. Dave is a tough replacement but another goalie that has some potential just loves to mess around. 2 freshman, one dpole and one middie, that were came up big in the championship and about 3 good sophomores and quite a few juniors.

  3. Any details on this game?

Good game by both teams. Brentwood seemed to posses the ball the first half and went up 1-0. Second half Franklin kept the ball on Brentwoods side for quite a while and got a couple oppurtunities. Jacobs went in for a loose ball with the keeper and tempers started to get out of hand, Jacobs got a straight red and another Franklin defender got a yellow. Quite a bit of pushing and kind of questionable on the red card but Brentwood's defense held off an intense last 5 mintues to win the game. So much for all the upset talk, I think Centennial would be a better game but Brentwood is definitely the better team.

  4. I am not on Franklin's current team, but I really feel like the whole soccer world in Tennessee is pulling for Franklin to shock the world and beat mighty Brentwood.

Typically if your a fan of the favored team than you pull for them.....if you not a fan of either there is a good chance you will pull for the underdog. Who pulls for the favorite? It happens but not usually. So yes I guess everyone would pull for Franklin because they are the underdog, unless your a Brentwood fan, then I'm pretty sure you know who they would pull for. Common sense.

  5. I just don't understand why Father Ryan seems to talk trash and down on other teams when, let's face it, they really aren't that good. I mean when you get demoted (yes, demoted) to DII, it's not really the opportune time to be bragging and/or trash talking. An 8-2 record from a team that only a year ago was DI? Not bad, but by no means impressive...especially from a team who, prior to the season's start, said that they would basically dominate. I mean, 19-9 vs. Franklin? 3-9 vs. Brentwood? Really? Get serious, there's just not much there to brag about.

    amen brother

  6. that prediction is ridiculous. I, for one, am not laughing out loud. this will be a game of epic proportions, most notably the lopsided proportion of Independence's numerous goals to Brentwood's zero goals.

Well we will start with this one, epic proportions, lopsided proportion of Indys numerous goals, brentwoods zero goals. Ok boss, besides the fact your a moron, you made a complete fool of yourself because you couldnt have predicted the game any worse. Personally I think you should just be kicked of this site for your stupidity, if I were you I wouldnt post for probably the next year. I hope you enjoyed seeing how a real soccer teams plays, sorry Brentwood broke Indys heart, maybe next year...................doubt it. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Sadly to say Brentwood won 5-0 (good shots) Indy didnt pressure the ball and lost complete focus on the goal. they stopped talking and they let brentwoods smack talk get to them. They allowed to much possession and movemetn to happen in the middle of the field.

That being said the sportsmanship from the players on the brentwood team was atrocious. The bench singing ohhing and ahhing taunting players and fans and then not even shaking hands cough cough Bradly jacobs was uncalled for.

Good game to both sides but we need to work on this stuff.

Anyone that has ever played a sport knows that bad sportsmanship comes from both teams, if one team doesnt dish it back then it would never continue, sounds like an upset fan from Indy just trying to think of something to say in attempt to make Brentwood look bad in some sense. You can say what you want but 5 -0 says it all big boy. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  7. First of all you Father Ryan guys think you are to cool for school. I think you guys could be a lot better than your playing right now, I dont think the score reflected how you guys played but it just seems like you always have something to say after every game. Dont get me wrong every team has a couple hot heads but I dont think the best way to talk about a loss is to blame it on one part of your team. I mean ya you had a little bit of a defensive breakdown, but you could have also just not turned the ball over and your defense would have never had to worry about it, so it goes both ways. I think hard work and nice bowl of humble soup will take you a long way, try it out. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  8. everyone counts indy out way to early for every sport. in our third varsity season in football we got are state runners up, no one said we could make it there. we have a national champion cross country runner, we have one quite a few color gaurd state championships, our wrestling teams third varsity season we place fourth in the state and come out of one of the hardest regions in the state to do place fourth. im no sayin we will win or we are the best at everything, im just sayin dont underestimate us. we have alot of good talent this year, and so does brentwood. but in the end, this game is going to be a real battle, no one is going to win "hands down"

/flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Its not like everyone thinks you guys stink at everything, school sizes in williamson county are all pretty similar, i dont think anyone counts independence out because they are a "new" school, probably because typically they arent one of the top schools when it comes to athletics, dont get me wrong the football team did well and wrestling was good too, but its not like you guys have some phenomenal running coach that trained Kathey, you can just thank school zoning for her. I'd say Brentwood will win by at least 9...hundred lol ok not really but I dont think it will really be a game. Independence doesnt know what is about to hit them.

    Go Rebels! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  9. I figured it would have been a little closer than that, anyone see it? Did Ryan have all their players healthy?

As far as I know Father Ryan had everyone that should have made a difference. I honestly expected a lot more considering we played Brentwood really close and the Brentwood Ryan game was not necessarily a blow out by any means. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> To me I'd say Father Ryan has got some work to do to even have a shot at a title. I dont really know who is coming out of the East or West but after playing both Brentwood and Ryan, I'd say Brentwood is the favorite to take it all, but who knows anything could happen. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  10. This seems to be a very big game for both teams going into some of their last games of the regular season. Both very strong teams from middle TN who will be top teams in the post season. Hopefully I will find time to make it out to this game just to see some of the better D2 teams show a good game.

  11. no sir rebel i should be the one apologizing for restricting you from your rebel ways

Thank you irish, I accept your apology. I'm glad you finally realized you were wrong in this situation and that you could man up and admit it, means a lot to me. Keep up the good work......

  12. well like i said..the reason i put this thread up was because i was interested in seeing who was playing where next year....so yeah..it does matter. big reb

Well Irish I apologize for asking, I will make sure whatever I say on message boards for now on pertains to what the thread says, I didnt realize people took offense to this, I didnt mean to break the rules....big thread master.

  13. If your playing a sport just to win a state championship then go join the bowling team or some sport where there is no competition and your almost guarnteed a ring. When we moved up last year I dont think we had the choice to stay in D2 because we knew we werent going to do much damage in D1 this year but im not certain about the whole choice thing. Teams change so drasticly from year to year, the competition of the divisions will never be really consistant. Plus its probably a nice accomplishment for teams in D2 to play and beat a D1 team, like Brentwood, I'm not sure who is better us or USN but Brentwood is a solid team and could probably be a middle of the pack team in D1 this year. Plus I heard DeSalvatore got hurt sometime in the USN game so that could have been a factor but not really sure how reliable my sources are. But congrats on the Alabama tournament, I know Hoover has a couple pretty good lacrosse players down there.

  14. Honestly I think we could be the best in the state this year. Our coach is the best Franklin has ever seen and I wouldnt be suprised if we get national recognition. The only team I am slightly scared of is Brentwood just because a rival game can always go either way. Derek "CrazyHands" Batt seems like a top 20 in TN and kind of reminds me of Quentin Richardson. Deonte "The Friendly Giant" Siske is compared to Shaq. With this kind of combo on the floor they could be unstoppable.
