  1. White House will be fine. If the game had been played at WH, the field would have been covered and you would not have had that mess down there. Sure it is fun to play in but that is where people get hurt. We are already down 4 lineman - 2 are gone for the rest of the season - can't afford to get anymore hurt - especially in a nonconference game with a team in a larger division than ours. Our boys played great - they played with heart - they have found it slimlady and they will be great.
  2. #62 and #77 were both hurt and had to go to ER.
  3. It was Joey Smith #59 - junior. Just watched it a few minutes ago.
  4. Glad he is at home. Hope he is doing ok. Both our players are home. One has a sprain and the other one has a broken ankle with the possibility of surgery. Never like to see any of them get hurt. They work too hard.
  5. Does anyone know anything about the Greenbrier player? Our thoughts and prayers are with him also.
  6. I don't know if he is or not but if he was biased the call for chopblocking or low and high at the same time on a player would have been called. This is the play that sent a player to the hospital. I hear he has a fractured ankle and is going to have to have surgery.
  7. Devils gonna win it. They will be up and ready this week. Go Big Blue! BDP!
  8. You are correct. I respect Coach Porter for his decision. QB did a great job. He was the freshman QB two years ago. Both teams played a great game. We came out on the losing end. Definitely need to work on a few things. Considering the atmosphere in the past, it was a calm game and yes White House does hate losing to SC as much as SC hates losing to WH. Our injured player will be missed. It was a serious iinjury. These are kids that mostly under the age of 18. I am sure both sides had some that are still 15 years old on the field. Someone stated early about the practice. It was not a surprise practice. They've known since March. White House players - you did a great job against SC. I proud of you. I am proud of what both schools put together before the game. It also gave me chills. 1. Whoever WH's quarterback was did an excellent job for a non-starter. He had a perfect pass in the endzone in the final seconds that would have been the game winning touchdown 99 times out of 100, but the DB from Station Camp made an outstanding play and batted the ball away. 2. The Wildcat package WH ran in the second half was something else. THAT kid is a good back. 3. I think SC had guts to go for it on 4th and goal from the two in the fourth quarter. We debated it in the stands, and that's a call I wouldn't want to make. The celebration penalty after the touchdown was a poor call that could have cost SC the game. 4. I've seen tempers flare several times in the history of this matchup, but I thought both teams showed composure and good sportsmanship all around. 5. The show the band and the choirs did before the game gave me chills. Good job, all. 6. I cringe every time I see someone injured, and I felt like running across the field and hugging the young man who hurt his ankle. Remember, folks, these are our children.
  9. This will be a close game. It is a TV game. Both schools lost a lot of good players. White House has had players step up. Close but I predict White House will win.
  10. Portland game is over. It was 2 weeks ago. You can have your opinion but start a thread. Don't have it on the Station Camp thread or the Westmoreland thread. Just told you the same thing on that thread. We want to talk about the White House and Station Camp game. Go Blue!
  11. In case people haven't noticed, this is NOT the Portland thread, this is the Westmoreland thread. I would like to thank Westmoreland for their great sportsmanship. Even though they are having a down year, they were great hosts. The announcer was great and able to be heard on our side of the field. The players were sportsman on the field. Westmoreland had lots of fans there cheering their guys on. It was a great atmosphere for Friday night football. I wish you luck with the rest of your games. My only complaint would be - more seating! lol We were jammed packed. Even with that, the announcer saw that we were going to fill the stands and offered for fans that were standing on our side to come sit on their side in the empty seats (which a credit to Westmoreland - was not that many). Thanks for the offer.
  12. Were you at the game? Did you see/hear what Portland's players were saying and doing? It was the worst PORTLAND team I have ever seen and I have been watching the games a lot longer than you. It really disappointed me to see and hear Portland and all their antics that they are doing this year. If I was back in my younger days playing, I would have done worse than what #7 did. I could not believe how White House played in this game. Worst team ever by Porter. Portland is always a class act in my opinion. I'm from Gallatin and have never seen them out of hand and I have watched a lot of portland and white house games over the past 15-25 years. Those reffs in that game should be fired! It looked like Porter hired them himself. I tell you what if I was Portland's coach, I would have sent in a tape to TSSAA without a doubt it was that bad! That game definitley reflected badly on the whole White House community. I was really disappointed on their behalf
  13. #79 also tackled a player and then just kept rolling him back and forth on the ground. They were not even anywhere near the play. He had a lot of cheap blocks and hits.
  14. Didn't Portland also get a player ejected? I believe that is why they got 30 of their yards at one time. I believe Aussie tackled #10 as he was releasing the ball and Portland's player started punching Aussie. Portland got the penalty.
  15. Its football time again in White House. You can feel it in the air as you travel through WH with practice on both sides of the road. I am picking White House to win again. They are a young team but coaches will have them ready! Go Blue Devils! BDP
  16. I did not hear of any spitting until I got on hear. I think the guys who painted were fine and showed school spirit. Fortunately, we have one more year with our QB, Trox.
  17. Lucky Charm as I have said before in other posts, there was a sign that said Irish Students and a sign that said Irish parents, there was a section with nothing and a section roped off. Here in Middle Tennessee, roped off usually means to stay out. You say you got there 30 minutes before the game. We got there 2 hours before the game. We did not know what we would be running into on I-40 (UT/KY game, holiday traffic, etc.). We sat in the only unmarked section. I am sorry that it happened. No official asked us to move until 6:20. We sat there for 1 hour and 20 minutes before anybody said anything. Again, sorry. We were also met in the parking lot by students who greeted us with many greetings. Every greeting had the "f***" word or some form of that word in it. No hard feelings on your teams part. No sour grapes on my part. I also look at it this way, if you guys do win, the only 2 teams we will have been beaten by this year are the 2A champ (if Alcoa wins) and the 3A champ. I will wish you guys luck and hope that everyone has a safe trip to the Boro.
  18. AMEN! And your guys did not chop block Boone? KC was doing everything that you just mentioned. I just got through watching the tape for the 2nd time since last night.
  19. Raising your voice is one thing (which is not right either) - touching is assualt.
  20. Seeing that she was on the track with the KC cheerleaders I would assume that she was with the KC program? That is just an assumption and I do not know that for sure. I am not judging the whole program for this one person. I am not judging the whole school for the actions of a few students. I think it is awesome when students show school spirit for their team. I wish I could see more kids "paint up". I wish I could see more students wearing their school colors and cheering. I wish I could see more of this at ALL schools. Are YOU judging the whole WH program on what a few say? Sounds like it to me.
  21. I am sorry it goes on in everygame that you are associated it but it does not go on in every game that we are associated with. We consider ourselves a big program because the parents work very, very hard to get our donations to get the things that we have. The programs that we work with such as Greenbrier, Portland, Station Camp, Beech, etc. work very hard to get our kids what they need in the football program to succeed. We all consider ourselves to be big time because of the hard work of the parents and players both on and off the field. I am not making it an excuse for the score at the end of the game. Let the kids paint up, let them have school spirit and pride, I think this is great! But there is a line that you cannot cross. The cheerleader was more than yelled at she was grabbed and pushed! When a police officer has to take the parent off the campus, this is crossing the line. I can only say that I have ever seen whiskey bottles at one school during my many, many years of being involved in the WH football program and that was Memphis Melrose. I am sorry Bigandbeefy, if you consider this to be normal at a high school football game, I am very sorry.
  22. First - I am a parent from White House and most of the things that this person said is true. (I didn't see the bottles but did smell the smell and see the evidence of drinking) 1. A parent from KC DID grap the arm of one of our cheerleaders and push her over. We were later told that the mother had been drinking and was carried off the campus. Several times she approached our cheerleaders telling them what to do. KC cheerleaders found this amusing. How would you feel if your child was cheering and a parent from the other side grabbed your child's arm and pushed them over in front of many? In some cases this could be assault. Just think a grown woman assaulting a minor. This cheerleader happened to be a Freshman which puts her at 14 or 15 years old. This woman had to be at least 40ish. 2. Yes, your student section stood on the ramp and if you had blue on, you had to push to get through. Your students also chose to play ball in the parking lot around lots of cars playing music with very ugly words in the songs. I know kids listen to these songs but can't believe that a private school with a religous name would allow this on campus. I would also like to know what would have happened if a student missed a ball and it hit the hood of a car and did many dollars of damage? Who would have been responsible? 3. We arrived two hours before the game. There was a section that was roped off with caution tape. Caution tape normally means do not go in this area. The cheerleading section was roped off which would mean - do not go in this area. NO OFFICIAL from KC game and asked us to move. NO OFFICIAL game and told us the section at the other end was not ours UNTIL 40 minutes before the game. At this point, there were 600 plus fans there. KC did not even fill the section that was supposedly supposed to be ours. IMO all schools should have a home side and a visitor side. The only place we have come across this prior is at another Catholic school - ND - we did not have any of these problems at ND. KC officials had plenty of time to let the WH fans know what was going on from 5:00 - 6:20 and they did not. I was there and no official came to the area that I was sitting in and said anything. They walked in front of us talking on phones BUT never said anything until about 6:20. To the majority of people, roped off sections mean do not enter or in this case do not sit here. Remedy to this problem get a visitor side to your stadium. Are there any public schools like this. I know it would save alot of money for the school systems if we did not provide a visitors section to sit in and then gave the visotrs a small area to sit in and then tell them that they can't sit anywhere but that section and you can bring your chairs and blankets and sit on the dirt. Very Christian like isn't it? 4. Check the film on the post game activity. 5. We lost a game for many reasons and one of those reasons was KC's team. They do have a good team and when given the opportunities that WH gave them, they took advantage of them. That does make a good team. Were our boys upset, yes. Were they frustrated, yes. As would KC's boys had been if the score was turned around. Now, I am going to get on my soap box, so bear with me. It is very hard for me as a parent to go to a game against a private school that is backed by fundings from a religious organization and see the things that I saw last night. We play schools from many areas during the year. We play good ole country schools and we play intercity schools. After last night, I will take the intercity schools anyday. These schools are supposed to be rough and tough and they are. They use language and gestures that many find vulgar but when you go to a school backed by church dollars and donations and see and hear the same thing, it is very disturbing. I know I am going to be blasted on this forum but I really don't care. Basically what I saw was hypocrisy. I know that no one is perfect. I guess I expect it to be different at these schools. Maybe I am wrong. I don't know. I guess I just didn't expect to see a drunk parent grabbing one of our girls. Thank you for the compliment on WH fans. Most are very nice people who are passionate about their football team. I did not have the opportunity to speak to any KC fans but I am sure that most of their fans are nice and great to talk to. It is always sad when a few spoild the bunch for many (and I am talking about both sides because I know WH has a few that spoil it for us). I know that KC parents are passionate about their football also. I am very sorry for the seating situation but it should have been taken care of when we arrived NOT 40 minutes before the game. It would have been much easier to move 50 - 100 people rather than 600 plus people. IMO I will not be pulling for anyone next week. Football season is over for me this year. I am moving on and looking forward to next year. Thank you WH boys for a great year. Hold your head high, be proud, yes BDP proud. I love you all!
  23. I don't know who took the first punch but trust me KC took theirs also. We had two boys hit that went rolling on the ground. KC is not innocent so don't let them think that they are.
