Cosby Lady Eagles region champs and The Eagles play at Rockwood Friday.

We're just curious. And Jordan wants to know also. Almost everybody who posts here from Cosby knows each other and we discuss the boards at the games. I should be near the WLIK sign if you want to wave Thursday night.

Oh well, I don't mind making the trek as long as we keep winning. I hope I'll be there Friday too. Looks like the girls will meet Wartburg in the championship game. I don't care where they play sub-state (even though home court would be nice) I'm just happy for them for getting this far. The Lady Eagles start an 8th grader & a freshman. Should be 3 great games at Rockwood Thursday.

They did play with a lot of heart the games I got to see. Trae Helton is a heck of a player and displays great sportsmanship. They've got a lot to be proud of for the way they played and conducted themselves on the court even though they didn't pile up a lot of wins

The Cosby vs CAK rivalry has turned into one of the best in East TN. Fans and even cheerleaders don't like each other. However, I think all the players from both of these teams do have a lot of respect for each other. There is a lot of talent on each team. I haven't seen anything on the court except a little "attitude" and I like to see that in a player. If you aren't confident and are timid you aren't successful. I've seen a lot of good sportmanship on the court and a lot of poor sportmanship in the stands at both schools. But no more than should be expected in a rivalry like this. I guess I have to pull for CAK because nobody wants to play the home team in the championship (not looking past Thursday's Oneida game of course) EagleEye, did you make it to the game..... pretty scary... Come say hi, if you make it thursday Mrs. M might come depending on tom. night

Kent Black hit some big free throws at the end to extend it to a 4 pt. lead. A last second 3 made it a 1 point game. The free throws at the end cost Wartburg the game but The Eagles turnovers kept them in it all game long. Let's hope this is the only nervous, sloppy game The Eagles play this week. I'm sure Coach Flatford will have them ready for Oneida Thursday. I'll be back tom. for The Lady Eagles semi-final game.

They played great...Harriman didn't shoot very well early and our girls got hot. It got a little scary when they tried to make a comeback in the 2nd half. The Lady Eagles should have a test Wednesday night. I'll be at the rest of the games ( I hope it's a lot). Tomorrow I think it will be a white shirt with Cosby Eagles on the front ShaniaGuy is trying to talk me into staying for CAK/Rockwood tom. but I have to work early Weds.

Is their a better place in East Tn to attend a basketball game...??? Kevin is playing very well. He is such a team player that plays outstanding defense. And you're never going to meet a young man with better sportmanship or that works harder. He will be missed next year. I hope I get to see him play several more this year. The PT is reporting The Eagles play at 4:30 Monday. I gotta hope Rockwood wins tonight because I don't want to play the home team in the 1st round. Everybody is 0-0 now. Two wins guarantee a sub-state game but wouldn't it be nice to come home for another game...???

Our local paper is reporting that The Eagles play at 4:30 on Monday. Can anyone verify this....???? Also regarding the reclassification, I have heard that Cocke County High is really going to make an effort to move down to single A. Even with the 2 losses they would have against Cosby every year, they would play the rest of the district/region pretty close......sorry couldn't resist

I agree that all the 4A teams are probably favorites but the only exception might be the Cosby/ Harriman match-up. The Lady Eagles are playing well. In the past few years, it has been a 4A sweep except for a 1st round win for The Lady Eagles last year. Greenback is a good team and might pull off a couple of upsets. Way to go Eagles and Lady Eagles with the sweep of 3A. I'm proud of how hard they have played this year. Not much has been said about what they have had to overcome this year but it was a tough road with some hard fought wins. I can promise you all The Eagles and Coach Flatford are thinking about is the 1st game they play next week. It's one game/ one possesion at a time now. The 4A teams will be gunning for The Eagles as always. They're might be an Eagle sighting at Rockwood tonight. It should be a great tournament. Hey XtremeLoco, wanna give me directions to the school and an idea about the best place to park. I've been once (Mark McGaha's lest second shot last year ).

Anybody have any idea when these games will be played...??? Will the girls play 4 games on Monday & the boys 4 on Tuesday...??? As soon as anyone gets any info, please post...!!!

This will be a great subject to discuss in a month but I've got a couple of big games in a few hours to worry about. I do hope the reclassification will help 3A be stronger. who knows what TSSAA will do. but S-Guy, I don't the old rival will move down. just my opinion though.

thanks for the brackets...There are going to be a lot of big games tonight which means you'll have a lot of work to do this weekend but it is appreciated.

I did the math after the multiplier was passed & I think when TSSAA reclassifies it will move them up unless they do make an effort to enroll less students which would mean less $$$$. Going to AA might put them in a district with Alcoa, AE, Seymour. If cak wants to keep growing and enrolling more students, this move up would be unavoidable with the new rule. I want to see how The Eagles do in the 1st few region games and the district final before I worry about The 'Boro

CAK 68 Greenback 62 This was a close game. Greenback had it tied (or maybe within 1 in the 4th) If Greenback would have hit some big free throws, they might have won. CAK seem to played really tight almost like they were playing not to lose. The refs called it really close on the fouls and neither team seemed to get into any kind of offensive rythm whick hurt CAK more than Greenback. A fun game to watch for The Eagle fans. Trae Helton is a heck of a player. Greenback is just a player or two away from being a really good team

I hope you're right. Should be some good games Thursday night. But I'm afraid all these teams might have a tough time with the district 4A teams again this year. I'm going to Cosby now. The tourny continues in a few minutes.

I'm looking foward to some tournament action at The Eagle's Nest. The Lady Eagles play at 7:00. I wonder how many of The Eagle Nation will stay to watch the CAK/Greenback game...??? There was a group of CCHS students at the tsd game who was reported to say "we're gonna cheer for Cosby the rest of the year". (what a halftime show) Did you get my e-mail portvol...???
