  1. Ur a dam idiot..

IDC give Oakland siegel's schedule they will still get 20..

If siegel wants to think they ave played the "best" from Memphis why not play R.E or White station? Someone like that?

Yall absolutely HATE that Oakland still finds a way to win, win and WIN!

I PROMISE YOU if i see you guys at a game I will personally walk up to you nd hand you the tissue paper!

    Yall out cry Cutter ANYDAY..

Nobody has argued Jamal needing to be the MVP. You just trying to brew up a stupid fight. I will say that Jamal does EVERY little thing u could imagine for Oakland. I've seen him dive on the floor at least 10 times this yr. EVERYONE knows how good Kerry is. No one argues that at all.

Its always like this I think. Oakland has the quiet players who just play. Siegel always has the guys that NEVER get noticed lol and never get the respect they deserve. BOO HOOOO

    GAHHH LEE!

    Again BOOOO HOOOOO BOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Siegel beat Oakland in the district or regions.

The sad thing is even if oakland wins they only beat Siegel cause of the rivalry and not cause there any good. Kill me now but if Warren county played Oaklands schedule they would prob muster up 15 wins..

Don't worry bout me tho I know nothing of what I talk about. I know nothing about this basketball either..

    Again BOO HOO

Wow, such language. If you watch Siegel play they also have players that dive on the floor, they have kids that are all around players just like Hughes but did you see any articles on them. Their bench is deep with talent but all people seem to think about are the big scorers. What about the kids who averages 8-10 ppg, 4 assist, 3 steals, 2 blocks and 8 rebounds per game, and run point if needed, those are the ones the college coaches will be looking at while the rest of you are fussing about the ones with tunnel vision. Yeah Hughes does a lot but he's done no more than some other sleepers in the 'Boro. Look at Lebanon and Hillsboro(I know not in our district but hey) they have divers and sleepers and worker bees just like everyone else.

It's all in how you carry yourself and because Siegels carrys around the swagger that brings out the haters. Well every school should believe that they are the best, otherwise what would we all have to talk about.

So, if the DNJ wants to make a Cinderella story out of Oakland, hey more power to them, it will all come down to who wants it the most.

Roll on Stars and good luck Pats and let's not forget Blackman and Riverdale. Play hard young men.

  2. i have a queston about a call made the other nght and i am not sure about it so if anybody could help me out i would appreciate it. a player was going out of bounds and grabed the ball and called time out while still in the air. i thought that rule had changed in high school ball am i right or wrong!!!

They definitely need to learn what a jump stop is. If I see one more ref call a walk because they are usually shocked when it happens I may just go drop the 55 and take the test myself. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  3. Brandon Lopez from AE. Joey Bodewig (6'6")from Catholic.

Another good junior is Lavon Tate out of M'boro. He's an all around player. I've only saw him a couple of times this season but saw him out in Vegas along with the Lyles kid. He can run the point or do the dirty work down low and jump out with a three and Lyles has a stroke like Phelps. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  4. My question is how effective will your prized DE be at UT? UT football swallows some of your great players alive. We know that McAdoo has the opportunity to make a splash immediately at UNC, will Mr. Hughes just be a special teams player for the big orange. Antioch wins this game on the basis of a strong team effort offensively, and that tenacious D.

    Mc A who......Looks like those sophomores handled him just fine.... /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  5. Siegel up 23-16 after the 1st quarter for anyone interested in actual basketball.

    Siegel won 82-60............STATE BOUND BABY......................... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  6. No one is goading your "Nation". I agree they have a great student section, but our parents dont fight each other. Sparta VS Siegel. I also agree that was wrong of Green to do that, but as for no one caring, your wrong. I heard several ppl talking about it, but that is not in Greens nature. He is a great kid, he was mad and we all know we DO and say things when were mad we would not normally DO or say. Cant we all just get along. lol

I am proud of our district for representing the way they have.

    GO WARRIORS

Whining will get you no where. Did you see Green try to get down and dirty tonight but that didn't work...neither for Delaney... and as far as the Siegel parents, just remember the same thing you say about Green being mad and it not in his nature could be said about them as well. Such a hypocrite you are. You act like they are in pre school or something, everyone has a button. And yes we can all get along.

  7. You've failed to prepare 3 times i'm sure your prepaired to fail tonight for the forth time to, I'm proud of both 7aaa teams making the substate but 10 points come on i'd like to take that bet.

    Where you at now because it sure looked like they was prepared tonight. Was you /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

    I guess not /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

  8. The "swami" has arrived and needs to borrow a coin from someone please ??? This game is a toss-up and sooooooo important for that home court sub-state game , The "swami" knows White County is 3-0 this year against Siegel and sees White County getting it done again tonight. "Swami" sees White County winning by 5. The "swami" has spoken. Congrats to all the 7aaa teams this year, The play in our league during the regular season, should really prepare both Siegel and White County as they continue their quest for the "gold ball" . Have a great game tonight guys !!

Somebody please get "Swami" another coin because Siegel has proved that they can be a force to be reckoned with and take you out of your game with tight defense and smart plays. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />

  9. Just got home from the game. Siegel played well. White County played ok. WC just missed too many shots that they normally make. Missed a lot of layups in the 1st half and didn't make many three's. We will head to Red Bank on monday night. This will be nothing unusual. I believe the last ELEVEN times we have made it to the substate{boys and girls} we have had only ONE of them at home. Fortunately we have won all but 2 of those eleven games. We did beat Siegel 3 out of 4 times this year. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I believe both 7AAA teams will advance Monday night. Go Warriors!!!!

Yeah, you beat them 3 out of 4 times but tonight is the one that counted.......................GO SIEGEL /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  10. People said that about Jimmy too didn't they? Yet he is a quality 6th man off the bench for Lipscomb right now. Perception doesn't always equate to reality...and thats especially true on here. People talk about Siegel being a "one man show" and they will not be good after he is gone and that all he does is shoot. 2 things- #1 You don't get to the district finals being a one man show. #2 I have said this several times but people seem to look past it everytime when replying. Cutter has only been the leading scorer in about half of Siegel's games. Siegel's scoring is usually very balanced. Cutter with 15-16 Hammonds with 10-15 Gooch, Tate, Hughes all getting in doubles figures at times. To say that Siegel relies only on Cutter is ignorant. Last year they relied only on Cutter, and it got them nowhere. Look at the box scores from the last 2 games as proofTyler Cutter 32, Marc Gooch 15, Montori Hughes 14, T.J. Mitchell 10, Levon Tate 7, Pico Nance 2. -LebanonSiegel (22-10) ??” Tyler Cutter 19, Dominick Nicholas 16, Montori Hughes 10, LeVon Tate 9, T.J. Mitchell 8, Pico Nance 5, Marc Gooch 1.- OaklandIf Cutter can go and score 32 points a game then I don't think anybody is going to complain, other than those who hate Cutter and refuse to give any credit, but more so than not, the box score is alot closer to the Oakland game. Its ironic. Parents in the stands are bashed on here for not holding their tongues...yet we have plenty of adults on here who come on here and bash 15-17 year old kids and tear them down in any way they can. It's a nice double standard for some people isn't it?

Why would you bash someone for telling a team to pass the ball? I had family sitting a couple of rows down from the Tate lady and they was saying to pass the ball and play defense to the team as well. I guess she is the only one that got caught. Sounds like someone was feeling guilty. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  11. It happened about a month ago when Siegel played AT White county.

My mom told me that the one mother was hollering to pass the ball but didn't call anyones name. The other mom started walking over there pointing and it just blew up. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

  12. Have you seen cutter play this year yet? If not then think before you post. Cutter has grown up and matured over the year. He knows that he can't go to indiana state and be a "cry baby" as you say. He doesn't complain nearly as much as he used and has become a more team oreinted player. However he did a flagrant called on him due to emotions running high. I'm not sticking up for his actions on that play because he should not have let himself lose that much self control. But come on, give the guy a break this year.

A Senior that has signed Division 1 gets no slack. You would think he has matured enough to lead the team not act like he is in elementary school. He did the same thing at the Liberty tourney. Come on if you want to give him a break then he needs to act like he deserves it. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  13. I was thinking about posting a new topic but then I decided it would be better to just keep it in this topic.

Who does everyone believe has the better sophomores? Blackman or Siegel?

Blackman's sophomores won state in middle school but Siegel has however got the transfer of Tate and a couple more in the time since then.

    Blackman: D. Smith- Starting 1

    T. Collier- Starting 3

    JD White- Starting 4

    J. Crutchfield- 2nd string 1

    J. Ray- 2nd string 5

    D. Brown- The injured 6'5 post who started last year as a freshman.

    Siegel: K. Hammonds

    L. Tate

    M. Gooch

and a few other under the radar sophomores who I'd like to hear about.

That's a qood question. I know you said Blackman won state in middle shcool but I've not seen much of them this year. I've seen Tate through AAU the last couple of years and tracked him through a coach I went to school with. He will be a good addition to this team when he is fully recovered from the ankle. I didn't see much of Hammonds last year at AAU or school because of his ankle and knee both. Gooch is a good leaper and has a decent shot on him and can rebound as well. #45 may be short but I think he will be fine. I think Nicholas from Louisiana could be a good point guard if he learns to get in a zone and drown out the crowd.

Nicholas-Should be starting 1 next year

    Gooch- Starting 2

Hammonds- Starting 3 but plays 4 as well

Tate- Starting 4 but plays 3 as well

    Mitchell- Starting 5

Hammonds played AAU under his father last year but they didn't stay around long but when I did see him play he looked just like he does now...quick on the go and heading for the basket. He looks like he has grown a couple of inches. He looks for the ball and has those big hands ready.

Tate played AAU last year and I did saw him when we went to Cookeville and if you don't know about him you will. This team seems to be going through a gelling phase and will have this year to go through and know what changes to make next year.

    Good luck young guys....it's all up to you. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  14. The game was close til the end against winlson central. Wilson Centrl was missing 3-4 keeeeeey players...so go ahead get pumped off that win. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

Where the key players back for the Lebanon game..... I think they was based on the extra names I notice that played football...so what happened. I just saw the score.. /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" />

  15. i found it funny when siegel calls a timeout as the game winning 3 point shot goes up ... and in. of course.

    Can you say have some confidence maybe coach................. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  16. I drove down to the Siegel game because I have heard great things about Siegel this year. The word on the street is that their Sophs are phenomenal and they have one of the best PG's in the state. They had only lost one game against a very good Farragut team by only 1 point.

    based on what I saw...............................

Overton beat them in a good game.

The Sophs are good, but not what I was expecting. However, I like Hammonds. He is very smooth and has a knack for scoring. He is also long and is a pretty smart player. He blocks a lot of shots and gets his share of boards. Gooch can jump and is very athletic. #45 is way too short to play the post, but has good fundamentals. Tate is slow, but has potential. Of the 4 Sophs, Hammonds is a D-I prospect, and Tate could be if he becomes aggressive and gets quicker. Gooch is a division I dunker, but not a true basketball player. #45 is way too slow and short to ever consider playing college ball

Siegel is a year away from being a good team and 2 years away from being a very good team. And that is only if they have a PG to replace Cutter.

Cutter is not being utilized as a scorer. Overton did a good job of clamping down on him, but it is obvious that Siegel is using him as a setup man. If this were 2 years down the road, then I would like the way Cutter is playing as a PG and looking to pass first and then score. Siegel is not ready for that. If they want to make it out of their district, then they better start using Cutter as a scorer - set picks for him and actually look for him when he is open. Cutter played a great floor game and was very unselfish, but missed key free throws and tried to draw contact at the end and the refs were not going to call it.

Coaching for Siegel is questionable. They called a timeout when they were on a major run and had the momentum in their favor - ??????????????? Plus, they don't use Cutter???????? I will say in their defense that you can't blame coaching for missing free throws - like Siegel did - including Cutter. You can't blame them for not having a big man inside.

To say the least, I was disappointed in Siegel and see them placing 4th or 5th in 7AAA.

I've said it before that this going to be a good Sophomore class. Hammonds is the best on the team right now but you have to know that Tate is recovering from a turned ankle from the Wilson Central game. Your right though I have seen him play before and the potential is there. He doesn't look that strong but when he is 100% he'll give you the rebounds and points when the touch is allowed. I didn't see last nights game but saw the Wilson Central game and if you want court vision just watch Tate on an inbounds pass or when he runs point on a fast break. Hammonds, Gooch, Mitchell, Tate, and Nicholas will be a group to watch in the future. They will miss Cutter but can carry the torch.

Cutter is on his way out to Indiana State and will have to utilize his supporting cast and based on your statement he did that last night. He should leave a lasting impression on the team as to what a leader is too do.

Don't be too quick to judge these young cats because they must have not been in it because it doesn't sound like the same team I say play. From what I saw of Gooch and Mitchell #45 they played solid ball so again it sounds like an off night.

Calling the timeout was something but just like you said---Missed free throws will hurt everytime. The net said Siegel missed their last 6 free throws at the end of the game which truly hurt them. If they do place 4th or 5th I think that is going to show them what to do for next year.

Don't be dissappointed just know that you saw a team have a down night and definitely go back for more. Get the popcorn ready. I looked at their schedule last week and see they have a tough couple of weeks ahead. Will be very interesting to say the least.

However, not to switch to the girls but what was up with that game? I'm about to go over on the girly side and ask.

    /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  17. Tuesday Night Score;

    John Overton- 65

    Siegel- 64

    /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Yeah they won by one because Siegel dribbled too much at the end plus they choked on free throws and they have one their starting 5 still weak over that turned ankle against Wilson Central. Considering the boys still are hanging tough. I heard the refs made some bad calls on both sides. Hopefully Siegel learns from its mistakes and buckles down for district play. Congrats Overton. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  18. playing point guard means "passing" the basketball................................you catch my drift

[With some help Dominick would be fine I think. I've saw him a little and he seems to pass and the Tate kid gives it up when needed and opens up shots for others. I just looked at their schedule and they have White County and Cookeville back to back......should be very interesting. Make sure someone post the stats asap. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  19. Tate rolled his ankle but returned. Kerry Hammonds is the truth. Him and Cutter are a deadly duo. Not to mention Marc Gooch and Levon Tate, this team is SCARY.

Glad to hear Tate was able to go back.

Speaking of duo I saw them a couple of weekends ago at their playday and Hammonds and Tate make a better duo. These two have very good court sense and I think Tate could possibly be a point guard if he worked on his handle. He seems like he could play anywhere as well as Hammonds who is just lethal right now.

Someone ask about the kid from Louisiana a while back and that made me think who will be their point next year after Cutter graduates. He could possibly fill that spot if he stays level headed.

  20. Siegel beat Wilson Central 69-53 last night. Kerry had 21 points, Cutter had 15, and Tate had 13 to lead the Stars. Cutter is looking to get everybody involved this year. He had ten or eleven assists last night and it is looking like he's becoming more of a pass-first point guard, but when Cutter needed to score last night he did. Siegel played some good defense last night as well. Kerry had 3 dunks and Levon had one or two to keep the momentum going. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I don't think Tate had dunks rather he had the assists that lead to the dunks. He has good court vision for a young person. Someone said he got hurt, is that true. /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

  21. Central will be without 5 or 6 of their top 9 players due to football, but they will still be very competitive with Clemons, Woodard, and Palmer. Siegel probably does get the edge, but I don't think it will be by 10.

Well, they won by 16. There's something to be said about the sophomore class at Siegel. I'll keep saying it. Get the popcorn ready boys. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  22. yes they will......dont forget TJ mitchell hes a sophmore too............i have my popcorn ready

No doubt TJ will be right in the mix. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  23. How did Siegel do with Beech tonight?

Hammons lead with 17, Tate had 16, Gooch 10. This is going to be the class to watch over the next few years. These three around that basket are going to be dangerous. Sit back and enjoy. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  24. its funny how you're correcting me about something that happened when he was in 7th grade...I said he did not come to Siegel from white county...he came to Siegel from Cookeville....where is the error in that?

Who cares where he came from as long as he performs on the floor. It's funny no one has even thought that he is playing with Cutter and you know they are not going to let him be outshined. I look forward to big things from the Tate kid along with Hammonds. I watched them play over the weekend and some more playing time together and I think they will gel. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
