  3. Maybe this was a"Buffalo Wild Wing" moment. UN-BELIEVEALBE call, and I'm from Jackson.
  4. This is the week for the all-star game at Liberty High School. Media day and practices will be held at Liberty throughout the week and the game will be held Saturday starting at 6:00 with the girls and then 7:30 for the boys. Strong teams on both sides this year. Should be a real barn burner with some high flying above the rim action. On Friday night there will be an alumni game between Liberty's 2006 & 2007 state champs verses serveral alumni years from Jackson Central Merry. This game should be interesting too.
  5. Teams are selected by the coaches from the 48 schools in West Tennessee and by media ballot. Each player is given the opprotunity to play against the other top seniors in the West Tennessee area. It is sponsored by small division colleges to showcase talent that might other wise get overlooked during the season. Money goes to local charty (different ones selected each year at random) and host school keeps concession. This is it's 5th year and over 20 scholorships have been awarded since the first game. It's just like the TACA all-star game except this one only showcases local talent at a smaller level.

  8. Not sure of the score but Carver won a close one.
  9. I though both girls and boys games where very evenly matched. The committee did a great job in selections and although some players had conflicts and couldn't play, both games where some what of a surprise. When the teams where first selected I thouth the north would win both games hands down as well did many of the readers of Coach T, but considering the south girls lead the whole game up until the lasted 4:00 minutes of the game, and the boys was undecided until the last 3 or 4 minutes as will, it was two very close matched games. Over all not the best of the all-star games but still some very good players on the floor. No doubt that Poston took over the girls game and lead the north back to victory. She deserved the MVP that she got. In the boys match up no one player stood out but Fason had some very nice moves inside and scored on the inside trees at will. Close call on the boys MVP but I think Fason was deserving as was McLin had the North won. Maybe next year will be better!!
  10. Any grade is allowed in the 3-point and slam dunk competition, only seniors in the all-star game.
  11. It's that time!!! The fourth annual Golden Circle All-Stars is this Saturday May 31, at Liberty High School at 6:00 p.m.. All the top West Tennessee seniors, boys and girls, will be there to finish their high school career before leaving for college. This is the last high school competition for them and it's all happening at Liberty High School in Jackson Tennessee. On Friday May 30 at 6:00 p.m., there will be a 3-point competition for both girls and boys and a Slam Dunk competition. The 3-point winners from the girl's and boy's will face off in an overall winner. Favorites for the girls are Brooke Crisp from Bolivar, Shayna Garrett from Riverside, and Lavanda Ross from North Side. On the boys side the favorites are Ricky Taylor from Haywood, Charles Holt from Liberty Tech, and Jeremy Rhodes from Bolivar. Now I know what some of you North West fans are saying right now, "Where's Justin Blake?" Well Justin wanted to be in the competition but Dyer County has graduation that night, but don't worry Justin will be there Saturday night for the All-Star game. In the Slam Dunk competition the favorite has to be Casey Prather from North Side but EJ Epperson said "Don't count him out because he has some moves no one has seen!" Advance tickets for the All-Star game are being sold in the school's main office until Friday. Tickets for Friday night's event can be purchased at the door. This year's charity recipient is the West Tennesse Down Syndrome Association.
