Outside of Bump and Ow, i think everyone knew Bradley had a shot at 2nd or 3rd. Just most folks jumped on centennials and Blackmans bandwagon for the most part. Bradley could very well pull off another 2nd or 3rd place finish. Gonna have to take some extra pins tho. Losing skylar for the year will hurt bad next weekend.

Not a bad bandwagon to be on.  Only losing to Cleveland and Wilson Central is pretty good for both of us.

Line-ups must be entered on Track Wrestling.  You will receive an email link.

    Please indicate skill level 1-4 (Elite-1, Good-2, Fair-3, Beginner-4)

I think everyone can Google.  I noticed that the following has not seemed to be carried out:

    • Use PA’s as a blue print for TWF.
    • Scott will add tournament flyers to site if sent to him
    • Camps and clinics can be posted on site.
    • Meeting minutes will be posted on site.

The website is poor. It is not up-to-date. The tournament schedule is a picture of a printout, and poor quality at that. I also read that the site was suppose to use PA's site as a blueprint. Who does the website? Because it certainly has not had the time spent on it that is needed. (Good luck competing with PA, even on the website.) If I were going to use this website to schedule tournaments, I wouldnt give it a second glance, just think to myself, "wanna bes."

If you all want to grow wrestling down here, things need to be stepped up. There seems to be one person who is trying to be in charge and no one seems to want to work with that person. Why is that? If the majority do not like what is happening, vote to change it. Don't let it keep happening.

I'm just new here. I saw a good tournament at Blackman this past weekend. It started late, but it was good. As an outsider, I can see things that can be improved upon. Mainly communication. Top down and bottom up. There are guys who really want to grow the sport down here, then you have guys who really want to grow their name/position.

The only reason that we started late was because we allowed some to register the morning of the tournament.  We could have easily said, "sorry, registration is closed."  But with last minute baseball and soccer cancellations because of weather, those kids wanted to wrestle and we wanted to make sure they got that chance.  Big thanks to John Salter for handling all of that because he had to put together 5 tournaments that changed with each new kid.  If you know John, you know tournaments are always on time.  We drove him crazy but he made sure every kid got in.

Any idea of the lowest age group usually at the TN tournaments? I've had some interest from parents of my younger kids in our club but didn't want to get them excited for something and then them not be able to compete. Also, will there be a separate Girls division? Thanks in advance!

The Ironman on April 14 will have a kids division in all 3 styles.

  5. Here is the flyer.  Email me at ronniebray@hotmail.com if interested and you did not attend last year.

  6. I believe that they started having the girls invitational back in 2009-2010, but it was just that, an invitational.  Results on TSSAA only go back to 2013 because that was when it became a sanctioned sport in our state.  I remember 2009-2010 because that was when Emily Gessler (Tullahoma) wrestled in it without giving up a point the entire season.  It wasn't sanctioned, so she decided to wrestle boys instead.  She lost in the match to go to boys state 4-2.

  7. Well I hope TSSAA, your athletic director, and your principle find it as entertaining from the front row video that coach Bray made. YES, Coach Bray videoed the entire Bradley / Cleveland match on his phone from the front row of the small section allocated for A/AA matches! I assume he wanted in our section so he wouldn't be seen doing this. We all know that will get you in loads of trouble. In fact he orchestrated the entire Blackman fan base to acquire the first six rows of our section.I understand that they got there early for the finals to get those seats but our wrestler earned that section for our fans! Maybe Blackman has a better year next year and can participate instead of spectate! Tells a lot about the Blackman Wrestling Program.

    KRider,

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you have NO idea what you are talking about.  I didn't record a single match all weekend, so maybe you had me confused with someone else.  I was the fat guy on the front row with a back brace watching the matches.  Although i didn't record anything, I could have if I wanted to.  I can record anything I like for my own personal use.  But I didn't record anything because I got there early to get a good seat and watch it live.

You said I wanted in "your" section so I wouldn't be seen.  Actually, we got there early to get a good seat so that we would have a good view of all the finals matches from all the classifications.  You know, just like the Pigeon Forge group did.  There is no "our" section and all the seats are first come first serve.  If you wanted so badly to sit in those seats, you should have gotten there early and sat where you wanted.

You said I orchestrated a plan for our entire fan base to sit in "your" section and take up the first 6 rows. LOL!!!!!!!!! Yes, it must have been in an evil plan I devised to single handedly corrupt all wrestling teams that made it to the finals.  Fact is, in an open seating environment, you better get there early to get a good seat.  Your clock works just like mine does.  If it was so important for your group to sit there, somebody should have been there sitting in those seats.  When our group got there, all seats were open and available.  Make a note so that you get the same opportunity in 2 weeks for the traditional state tournament.

Any maybe next year we will have a better year so we can participate and not just spectate? Nice.  We did participate.  Only 2 teams in the state were left in each classification.  Many teams wished they had made it further and would be able to wrestle in the finals.  Makes for some good wrestling in the finals.  So good, that we got there early to make sure we had good seats.

And it tells a lot about the wrestling program? Ha! Our program with all the wrestlers, coaches, parents, etc work our tails off to be successful.  Our doors have always been open to help anyone get better and we try to help all that we can. Every parent that came down to record their kids match, I offered my seat to so they wouldn't have to stand.  It just further shows that you have NO idea what you are talking about.
