Omar played well, and like broadwayballer said, it was an All Star game, and it tough to show your stuff. He was interviewed and it looked like they would be happy to have him. btw, Omar always plays good defence.

The 34th annual Capital Classic All Star game was played this week in Washington DC.
TO and Omar Wattad played.
TO played well and was selected for the All Tournament team.
Good job!

Someone is not paying attention. Dodd instead of Groothuis?
Congrats to all of them.

QUOTE(BroadwayBaller @ Mar 26 2007 - 08:43 AM) 826422910Wattad had 9 points and 9 assists on 4/9 shooting... he also had the game winning assist to Wiggins when the west team sent 3 guys towards him. Unselfishly (something you can always say about Omar) he gave the ball up and wiggins scored. Kyle Groothius also had 25 points, mostly layups at the end of breaking the press. Wattad also had 4 rebounds.... Oglesby finished with 6 points and 7 assists... I don't see how you can say Wattad won't play at Georgetown after seeing him play. He may not dazzle but he does what he must to get the W. Good job EAST
I hope Omar gets to play, but after I saw Georgetown play recently, there is no way, sorry. But then again, you never know. He needs to put on weight, and quite a bit of it to have a chance. Muscle weight that is.
I wish him the best. Good thing Wattad and Oglesby woun't play together. They don't mix (both ways), I've seen them play together before.
Best of luck to both! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Wiggins and Oglesby will be there.

You are very observant! That was him sitting right behind the Clemson bench. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Did it seem strange that only players from the West got Mr. Basketball?
Very few even got their team to the State Championship.
You don't have to recap. the criteria for a Mr. Basketball, I know them. I would just like to know who had the final "say so".

Hope Maryville takes the golden ball home to East TN. I have to dig deep to say that b/c they beat us in the first game (BC). They deserve the victory, they are certainly skilled and strong enough.
Good luck to you guys, Kent keep goin to the basket, few people can stop you. Great family by the way.

Who does he play for in the summer time?
If you are good, coaches have a nack for knowing about you, and they may, I'm just asking.
-
Congrats to this kid, whomever he is......
I have never heard of this guy. Is he ranked in the state, and if so where and how high?
He must be a great player if he beat out Wiggins and Wattad! Strange?

At what time does this game start? 3 or 4pm? /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Oh...I am sorry Cleveland, you had your goals set higher, I know.
Congrats on a great season, though. All the best to the Seniors, and good luck next year.
More pressure on the Bradley boys now. We need to bring something back to Cleveland!

QUOTE(BroadwayBaller @ Mar 7 2007 - 09:31 PM) 826404135The game is going to come down to post play. Maryville owned SHHS because the tallest post on the hill was 6'4". Bradley should be able to handle the inside with Dodd and Groothius. Oglesby will do Oglesby just like Wattad did Wattad... it is the REST OF THE GUYS that will make the diff. Bradley by 6. By even more if Groot and Keith can put up numbers and/or limit the effectiveness of the tight-end/center.
I agree, GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They will be in my prayers!
-
Congrats to Maryville.
Hope you left all your skills with SH....lol
By the way, Basil and Oglesby played against eachother in middle school. They were both good then too.
GO BEARS!,

I don't think it matters who is still in the tournament as far as Mr. Basketball.
I think that was voted on before, at least, R egypt was out.
We will have to wait and see, I guess.

QUOTE(sparta boy @ Mar 6 2007 - 10:28 AM) 826401951we found that out foul shots 29-9.They are a good team would love to have played them on neutral site where fans couldnt walk out and carry on conversation in between halfs with the ref very unprofessional!!!!!Ogelsby was funny came out about 20 minutes after rest of his team and went to locker room about 20 minutes early.
TO had back spasms. He was ok initially, but something happened in the 2nd quarter. After the game he had an awful time even standing up. He is getting therapy and muscle relaxants. Usually he comes back in and stays and talks to the kids and who ever, but he was in so much pain.
Hope he will feel better soon.

Can Bradley play?
-
Maryville, here we come!!
Go Bears.
-
Let's not talk too big any of us. I hope WC brings a lot of fans, that's always fun as long as it doesn't get ugly.
I would be there around 5;45 for a 7pm game.
Good Luck Bears!
I am already tense about the game, I hope it's a good one with Bradley coming up on top!!
-
Well, we will just have to see about that woun't we......
K. Groothuis averages 23 points in the Regional Tournament, so the ability is there. K. Dodd has usually quite a few blocks a game, but has not scored very much. Rebounding is his specialty, I guess.
It will be an exciting game tomorrow.....I HOPE BRADLEY WINNS!!!
Maryville's State Win is History But Not a Surprise

Now that some time has gone by, I am able to write objectivly about the Maryville team, her it is:
I don't know why it was such a suprise that they went very far this year, they have a very good team! I think it's next to stupid to take certain people out of the team and say what if such and such wasn't there, then they would have been a different team......duh...they were all there a part of the team (refering to Basil and the other "new"player).
When they beat us (Bradley) we were not schocked, b/c of the the way we played, and b/c of the way they played. They deserved to win that game.
It looks good that we have D1 players on our team, but really, you can only count one that will make a difference today, the other one is picked on potential. We have Groothuis that will most likely sign with North Florida, and he does a good job most of the time as well. You guys were just better that us on that night.
Good luck next year, I hope you win another one. You have a very special team. Keep it in the East.
BTW, we were rooting for Maryville in the Championship, even though it was painful.........aaahhh, it was a killer!
