  1. Congrats to Trousdale County tonight. It was a great game with a great atmosphere. 2 very well coached and classy teams laid it all on the line this evening and gave all the fans their money's worth. No excuses here, the better team won tonight......period. #5 Harper is a stud. Runs the ball hard and has great moves to go with it. He does it all. He's definitely the best running back and all purpose player that I've seen all season. Looks like he was limping a little toward the end so I hope he's alright. #4 was in our backfield all night.......he's tough to contain. My hat's off to the Yellow Jackets, you guys beat a very good GCA team at our place. I'll be pulling for you guys next Saturday in Cookeville. I just don't see Adamsville.....nor anyone in 2A that can run with you this year. Rams.....keep your head up high. It was a great season and we all are very proud of you.
  2. OK, lets talk about HS football then....lol. I still love my Cowboys though.
  3. Yes, unfortunately we did. He lost his mother in a vehicle accident and just wasn't the same after that. This young man still needs a lot of prayers going his way.
  4. How bout my Cowboys. Can I have a shout out for THE AMERICAS TEAM!!!!
  5. Well, I believe he was referring to the dominant East TN teams. No, we not ready for some Ensworth and BA. We played Ensworth back during my son's sophomore and junior season (05-06). Didn't come out to well for the young Rams back then.
  6. Have to disagree with ya just a little Raven. Our 2011 team was a once in a decade team. 10-0 with 7 shutouts. Beat a great CAK team that beat Alcoa twice. That 2011 GCA team was much better than this year's team. Hope to see another GCA team like that one in the future but it will be tough. This year's team does come close though.
  7. Congrats to GCA QB Devin Smith and Lineman Nathan Morris on making the roster for the East/West All Star Classic. Well deserved and great job guys. http://www.coacht.com/tennessee/article.cfm?id=497290 https://twitter.com/prepxtra/status/405344821663268864/photo/1/large
  8. Sorry piratetom.........just thought it was a great video. Nothing to do about who we played. Good luck to you guys this Friday at Coalfield. I think you will take care of business.
  9. Raven, here's a good one for them to see. Last year's game at South Pitt. Sure would like to see Mckamey (#24) in pads this year. Losing him in that last game hurt us tremendously for the post season last year but praise the Lord he pulled through it.
  10. Not sucking up or making excuses. I call it like I see it. We will be in an uphill battle Friday night and hopefully we will prevail.
  11. Yes sure, i put a post on your facebook page defending us after your smark recruiting mark and you removed it within 30 minutes. Yea, you see what motivational things can do don't ya?.......just ask Marion County. I am so glad i pulled my kids from Roane County schools 9 years ago and sent them to Grace.
  12. Wow, 27 pages before I finally post. I try so much to ignore the stupidity from all the Grace bashers but It's something that will never go away. Now, on to the game. Honestly, we will have to play our best game of the year to beat Trousdale County. On paper, I believe TC is the better team. They've played a much tougher schedule. Unfortunately, all our non district 3A 4A and 5A teams we've beat this year are down. TC is a football town and TC football is a tradition. I believe TC has been to 11 state finals and has 9 gold balls in classses 1A 2A and 3A. BUT, the game is not played on paper....it's on the field. Yes, we can beat them but like I said, We will have to play flawlessly.......(is that a word ). I believe that we will be the underdog but will pull the upset on the turf. 28 - 20. Go Rams!!
  13. Channel 12 was told that they can broadcast the game but not in the pressbox due to not having another room available. We even told them that they can use our scissor lift which has a great high view but they declined that. They were not happy with the accomodations so they did not broadcast. We've subdidvided our pressbox many times and we just don't have the available space for TV broadcast.
  14. That's correct. Rockwood is about 45 miles away.
  15. That's garbage and I don't believe one bit of it. Yea, please explain to me why they would say it. You can post what you want and make up what you want. Haters will be haters. I transferred my kids to Grace 9 years ago. The best move my family has ever made............period. They wouldn't dare step back into a public school.....well, I'll just say, they would'nt go back to their former public school. The atmosphere from their public to Grace was night and day. I went to a public and I can tell ya there is no comparison....especially when it comes to academics and being Christ centered.
  16. Here, let me explain the rules to you as I am a coach as well on the HS level. Lets just say a kid from Loudon or Lenoir City wanted to attend Greenback and play football. As long as he has a physical change of address and has moved into the school district zone of Greenback, he can play.....even if he has already set an athletic record at his former school. If he decides to transfer to Greenback without a change of address, he may still attend the school (if GB allows) but then will have to set out 1 year from the last game that he played from the previous school. So yes, a student can transfer to a public and play right away. Ok now....for privates it is the same rule with the exception of one thing. If a student wants to play immediately at a private, he has to physically move within a 25 mile radius of that school to be eligible. If that student already lives within the 25 mile radius then he would have to move outside of that radius for 6 months then move back inside the 25 mile radius to be eligible....other than that he would have to set out 1 complete year from his last played game at former school. 5 years back we had to sit some players from Clinton for one year because they lived within the 25 mile radius already and did not move. So therefore they sit. The 2 students that transferred to Grace from Rockwood physically changed addresses and moved to Karns. They are eligible rigfht off. The same would be true ifd they moved to GB...they could immediately begin there as well. Like I said, it's all the same with the exception of the 25 mile radius in privates. One more thing to note. Any student can transfer to any school after their 8th grade MS year and is eligible to play as a freshman....whether it's public or private.
  17. That's true Raven, I was there. Hampton only beat us by 9......29-38 in the 2008 season. Lost 14-34 in 2007. Lost 8-46 in 2006. Lost 14-61 in 2005. I remember Midway putting 49 on us in 2007. I remember Greenback putting 61 on us in 2008. Yea, it seems everyone doesn't remember the days that we were on the other side of the lopsided scores.
  18. Read the post above....you'll figure it out. But to answer your question, yes the AD was not asked back. No the asst AD was not released. No the baseball coach was not released either. Once again, read post above.
  19. "A fool starts rumors without the facts" You'll figure it out..
  20. Could it be possible....could it be possible, well I guess it could be.......but it was not to be. Hey, was that Shakespeare? Sorry to burst your bubble but the athletic dept turned down the request for transfer.
  21. Very well put 'inman03....and by the way, I personally don't know you but welcome to GCA. There will always be the haters out there over this public vs private school debate. "It's not fair, it's not fair"....I'm so sick of hearing that but we might as well get used to it. I too transferred my children out of public schools about 9 years ago, and yes, my kids were in a Roane County school too. It was by far the best move we've ever made for our children. We were looking for a school with very high academic standards. We checked all the privates in Roane, Anderson and Knox Counties and Grace was by far the best choice for us. After 1 year at Grace you could not have begged, bargained, or forced my children to go back to their public school. It was a no brainer. We too chose Grace because of their highest academic standards and the tuition was very affordable......still is. I'm so glad we made that change. The school atmosphere at Grace is so different than their public school they attended. We had no worries 9 years ago and still none today. Top notch teachers, some with master's and doctorates. As I said before, it's a no brainer. i read your initial post and I'm here to tell you that you're children made the right decision basing it on academic reasons and the size of the school. I totally agree with as it would be a shock to most kids that attend a small school like Rockwood and go to one that has 1200-2000 students. Grace has roughly 350 students in the HS which is a few less than RW. And yes,as you stated to the clueless olerockyrebel, he will always state things and start rumors....with no facts. Olerockyrebel has always been a Grace hater.....I try not to let it bother me until it gets personal. Pujo is pretty nice fella, I don't think he's a Grace hater...but just not a fan of Privates in D1. Hang in there 'inman03.....You're children will love everything about GCA.....well except maybe the dress code....lol. Just kiddin. Actually, our students at Grace look very good in our dress code. Publics should adopt a dress code poilicy. Take care and God bless. Go Rams!
  22. It will never happen by our choice. The financial side of it is the first and main reason. That's why Catholic dropped from D2 about 8 years back. If we charged $18,000 a year like Webb......well we could do that. But who wants to travel to Nashville for a district game.....not me. So, as I said, unless TSSAA makes all privates move to D2.....Grace, CAK, Catholic.....and probably Boyd too, will never make that change.
  23. Yep, they did. The Inman's looked at Webb first too but eventually chose Grace. But you also have to look at the fact that most of these public school to private school transfers realize that the private schools have much higher academic standards. Grace was/is so much more advanced and further ahead than the public school my children were at before. As a parent myself, that is why I transferred my kids to Grace 9 years ago.....before we even had all these sports that we now have.
  24. Oh Pujo, always nice to hear from ya. The receiver from Carter HS was turned down by Grace.......and therefore his dad is not coaching as well. Not fussing at ya or being hateful but there's just so much being stirred up that doesn't even happen or exist.
