Well, to me the game of the week is Tenn High vs South.
Indians by 30 over Blazers
Hilltoppers by 50 over Pioneers
Falcons by 12 over Cougars
Vikings by 1 over Rebels
Good luck to everyone for an injury free Friday night.
Im still praying for Chris Cook from D-B

I don't know if this is true but have heard the kid is a Freshman. Is this true SH fans?

This is a battle of unbeatens and will be the first test of the year for the Blazers. The Indians are very fast. Boone will have to play their solid d and not allow Indians to get to the edge. If Boone can slow down the Indians rushing attack this will be a game. If not its over at the half. Boones physical ball control will be helpful but we do not want to get into a scoring match with the Indians. Boone is most likely at least a 12 point underdog but thats the way the.kids like it and when they play their best ball. I don't agree with them finishing 3rd in the big 8. Science hill is flashy but they are not near as physical. From what I have saw they are soft. The tribe does look to be the real deal this year. Should be a great game down in kingsport Friday night. I'm sure coach Clark is reminding his players about the last time Boone was down in kingsport. GO MIGHTY BLAZERS!!!
Hmm . . . I guess we'll see . . . But for now this is between the two DB's

Even without Cook, no contest . . . Indians by 30

WOW . . . 51-21 . . . What else is there to say, but wow! Good job D-B
-
Looked a lil flat Toppers at times, but way to pick it up. Good job Toppers!
Good game, Trojans and good luck to the rest of the season. Hope you win'em all! Hope the Horton kid heals quickly. He is a good looking running back. He was heart broken when he couldn't go on that ankle.
-
M-West's tailback Horton looks to be very impressive. Keeping him under 200 yds tonight will be tough.

Combines and camps are very important. Highlight videos help as well as phone calls from creditable coaches. But, most of your D-1 coaches like to physically see the athlete move. Of course, height, weight and 40 times all weigh in the decision making process.
-
Exactly how big a part of the SH offense was Fields? Number 1 reciever? I can't imagine it being a big loss, the Toppers always have athletes to spare.
Sure . . . Fields is a tall, athletic kid with good hands and great jumping ability. Yeah, its gonna hurt a bit to lose him. I don't think we have anyone that equals Fields stature. But, yeah . . . there will be athletic kids eager to step in.

I'm surprised Sevier County isn't ranked.
GO BIG 8

Why didn't Fields go to the Basketball School before he got going in Football? That was very selfish of him if he knew he was leaving. He could have let someone else get the reps in practice and 3 games. Just my opinion

There was an article in today's JC Press about Fields leaving for another school to play basketball. It's frustrating for us fans to see these kids come up through the system, only to leave without seeing them at their full potential, but you can't fault the kid and his family for making what they believe is the best decision for his future.
That being said, from what I've read and heard about this, the way this school recruited Fields doesn't pass the smell test. Some of these programs need to remember that they are high schools, and not big time college athletics. The first and foremost priority should be the students education.
Aside from that, I wish the kid the best of luck and hope to see him play sometime in the future.
Amen

I agree with most all the comments so far. Toppers will miss Fields, but have good guys to step up. Toppers have had 3 games to get some things worked-out. The Hill needs to keep penalties to a minimum and the defense needs to be strong and consistant to bring down the Trojans in Johnson City.

Interesting match-up . . . GO BIG 8

What a difference a week makes, geez. Settle down guys. Time to put this one behind us and take care of Central this week.
I know voltnh, I'm not getting excited . . . I believe Ralph is a good coach . . . Just maybe not a defensive coordinator. I've questioned it for a long time and was told by a well-respected retired coach from the area that SHHS needs a better D-coach to get to the next level. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. I hope "he's" wrong.

I agree with dbFAN91, on picks.
Kind of a ho humm schedule this week. And like Fitness4Life says . . . Everyone get better and stay healthy!
Best of luck to everyone.

Woodridge must of let some folks out for good behavior becasue there is a few people that agree with me. Looking good in a uniform does not make you a good football player. Boone had to prepare for everything because it was the first game while SH had film and knew what was coming. Wasn't Nelson an offensive lineman? From watching the highlights it looks like if Betsy doesn't give up a couple big plays they have a chance to win that game.
I'm probably gonna get chastised for saying this, but . . . In My Opinion . . . Ralph Nelson isn’t gonna get it done on defense! IMO he is NOT the man for the job. I know Ralph is Stacy Carter's buddy and he trusts him. But, we need a defensive minded coach. I know I'm not the only one who believes this. But, ultimately Carter is in charge and ultimately he will be the one to answer for it.
Hope, I'm wrong about, Nelson.
And speaking of looks . . . Elizabethton looks pretty good in uniform too.

Im thinking your the guy that washes SORRY HILLS jock straps
I might be . . .
-
SORRY HILL is DB's lil step brother. No matter how hard they try to be like big brother ,You have to put them back in line.CLARK owns lil carter. How many times in a row does a team have to be beat ,For them to understand that 2nd best is all theyll ever be.
Maybe so . . . If you never shoot for the top what does that say for a program? We are shooting for a conference title for starters . . . You are shooting to get past the 1st or 2nd round of the play-offs! It is, what it is . . .
-
Youll see class when DB takes SORRY HILL to school!
Im thinking you are a DB player on the 4th string?
-
Aint this the middle school thread for SORRY HILL?I didn't know they had a high school one.Havnt seen it in about how many yrs now?I hear if DB wins this on there going to annex JC next.LOL
Ha Ha . . . So funny . . . More Classless nonsense . . .
