That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, how many really good coaches are going to be handing out playbooks on the sidewalk. They are JV games to build a program with. -

Now you know the more people see of something the harder it is to have the element of surprise. So you would be willing to sacrifice a year of running a system the kids are not familiar with or don't have the personnel to run effectively for the greater good. -

So Maryville does it and has success, one example. How many does it and are not successful. So now you are going to ask the high school coach who has only a limited amount of time, to devote more time to assist the LL coaches without extra money. Now high school coaches don't make alot of money so I am sure they will be more than willing to give up more time. -

If you can't give a major difference, then you are waisting our time. -

You can use a tight end or two tight ends in a double wing if you choose, depends on what style you want to run. You are still not giving major differences, without major differences you are looking more and more foolish. -

Satisfied, I would have to say yes. Because now we have a group of coaches that know how to win and can put the kids in a position to be successful. It took about 5 games this season to break the kids from old habits but when they did they were really good -

While you can turn a Wing-T formation into a Double-Wing formation instantly, just by bringing your split end in tight and moving your halfback out of the backfield and up into a position just outside that new tight end, you will still basically be running the Wing-T. "- Coach Hugh Wyatt. This quote goes right along with what I have been saying, my point was there was not a huge difference and this guy seems like he would know seeing he has videos out. So thanks SID for finding this it was very helpful. -

The quote you put up is not from Paul Johnson, wouldn't that spread option be the flexbone spread option which is run from the double wing. I was referring to the shotgun that is called the spread, my bad forgot we were going through my post with a very fine tooth comb. Anyway I need to see the major differences you spoke of. -

You ran a version of the crossbuck two years when Gregory was there I am sure you called it something different but it sure did look like the crossbuck to me and I really liked that play, BUBBA. I said the triple option could be run from the wing t, I did not say every wing t team runs it. I didn't say the wing t was built around the triple option did I. TELL ME THE HUGE DIFFERENCES BUBBA, I ponied up why can't you. -

Oh yeah by the way if you can coach good enough, you can run the triple option very effectively out of the wing t. Counters utilizing motion can be run effectively out of each formation as well. Both offenses are multi-threat running, where one of 4 could end up with the ball: 1) QB 2) WB 3) WB 4) FB I do like the ability to cross the RB's in the Wing T in good ole crossbuck fashion, but wait you can do that in the double wing as well. -

The DR. must have went to get a book. So now we are at the wing t has a strong side and weak side as your major, huge difference. -

So you have been getting kids ready to play at Sequoyah for a long time, and we have seen limited success. I would have kept that to myself That is for another time. Tell me more of these major differences. So far maybe the use of the tight end. Which could be used in either formation. -

Major differences you could use a tight end in double wing, usually doesn't happen but could be done. Still looking for major differences, you guys are saying obviousthings. Nothing on that one even close to what I said. -

Not every kid plays high school football that plays LL, so I think it is best to put the kids in position to learn fundamentals, have fun, try to win, and learn good teamwork. THE WORLD DOES NOT EVOLVE AROUND HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL -

Traps, motion, counters, and triple option can be effectively run out of each. As well as play action. WHY CHANGE THE SUBJECT -

A little easier to pass out of the double wing, maybe. The FB could be a little more effective out of the double wing due to him being really close to the QB kind of hides him a little, these are not huge differences. Are you going to help -

I said there was not a huge difference. You said they were. Now look at all the similar plays that can be run out of each. I am here show me this huge difference you talked about. -

So now we know that one WB is lined up in the backfield even with the FB and behind the tackle (roughly) in the wing T. Now what. -

Something other than the obvious we all know the base formations are different as I have already mentioned. And all I said was they were killing us off tackle, there was no need for specifics on that. I was talking defense and where we were getting killed. -

Actually the many got tired of the few that were trying to run the show and put an end to it. The few held this program back at least 5 years. -

The LL programs need to worry about themselves, they don't need to worry about copying the high school's system. Personel might require the high school team to change every few years. They need to do what it takes to be successful on the LL level. They need to concentrate on technique and fundamentals. -

I am giving you the opportunity to prove me wrong, embarrass me. And all you can say is I am trying to bail myself out. We all know there is only one reason you won't do it, and that is because you can't. Come on man up prove me wrong the opportunity of a lifetime here on a silver platter.
