  1. Has everyone calmed down, and ready to start the new year.

Seems to be really calm slobber. Good kids moving up this year. Anybody know how many will actually come out for the team? The juniors team at Madisonville was loaded and some athletic kids at Vonore. If they will be dedicated, they have the potential to turn this thing around. Good luck to all who give it a try!

  2. Well this one is in the books and I have to say Loudon dominated this one up front. Wallace #5 ran hard all night and our D/L dominated in the 2nd half. How did Polk have 0 penalties in the game and we have 8 or 9? Well I won't whine no more we really kicked Wildcat tail tonight! Now we just need to give Alcoa all we can give them! Just hit em as hard as U can all night Big Red!

Polk is very disciplined, they only average maybe 2-3 penalties a game. BTW you should be thankful for just 8 or 9. Your RB #5 was falling forward on every play the first half anticipating the snap. I'm not whining your line beat us on both sides of the ball and the better team won last night.

You should have had at least one unsportsman like for a player pushing after the play then yelling at the ref in the third quarter. I don't like to complain about refs, it is a hard job and I wouldn't want it. But you cannot honestly believe one team has 5 holding calls and the home team has none, this could be called every play if they wanted too. But then again, I believe those guys were from Monroe County, what do you expect.....

Nope. What do you expect exactly? I saw a great game last night and enjoyed it with a friend of mine from Loudon. Never heard one slam against Monroe County. Why now? Don't put them off on us. Good luck against Alcoa. Straight at them and control the ball with sure tackling defense and you've got a shot!

  3. Good luck to Coach G. Time to get to work and hopefully have a successful season. I was really hoping we would stay with the spread but I believe every coach deserves the opportunity to put in his system. Will not be as fun to watch though.

Wait to see before you make up your mind. He coaches a good offensive scheme (very effective) and actually quite fun to watch. For me, just trying to find who had the ball each play was at times challenging and very much enjoyable. Keep an open mind, you'll see. Good luck coach G.

  4. For those of you that have asked Jake has agreed to go play at UTC. He had other opportunities but UTC is close to home(but not to close for mom to just drop in!) and it is a great school. He is glad it is over. He is really excited about getting a good education and getting to play football. They have a excellent engineering program and Jake wants to be an electrical engineer. He is working out like crazy and is now up to 200lbs. He hopes to be at 210 by the time camp starts. Jacob realizes the opportunity he has and he wants to represent Sequoyah High school in the correct way. There were some initial communication issues with UTC with the coaching change and all but Marcus Satterfield was his recruiter at UTC and really lit a fire in Jacob on his visit to UTC. Thanks to Bill Satterfield for taking Jacob to a practice after his official visit when I could not cancel patients on such short notice. To all of you that I have gotten to know and respect over the last several years, Jeff Roberts, Bob Starcher, David Gregory,Mike Black, Doug Justice,Pete and Scarlet Mosier,Jason Saunders,Adam Kefauver,Mike Peels,Don Workman,CH Thomas,Jeff Bell, and many others, thanks for your commitment, unselfish motives and dedication to the kids at Sequoyah high school. I am honored to have been abel to call you my friends. To the very very special kids I had the opportunity to coach and love I will never ever for get you and will "always" be there for you 24-7. I will still be around to help in anyway I can. Thanks to you all for a lifetime of memories, and Jake if you read this thanks for being the young man you have turned out to be (Hink would be very proud of you!) and I love you Bud.

Congratulations,Jake! I'm glad to hear you have decided to play and at UT-C is so much the better! Good luck and go wear them out! Dave, Hink would really be proud, as I know you are. Congratulations on making the hard work pay off in such a good way for a great kid! We're pulling for you,Jake.

  5. Carter has gave much service to sport but has stop many kids from reaching the top. I,ve watch him push his wieght around and I think this is the best thing that could happen. They are getting alot of heat from member school, which as no say soo in TSSAA eyes, but they knew the flame was getting hotter. Great move by the TSSAA but nothing is going to change until they let member School vote on Hardship and those type of items, instead of giving one man all that power. I would have to say alot of people are very happy even the coaches who will never admit it. But Hitler is leaving the building.Member school need to stand up and fight back and not let Brentwood have to do it by thereself.

I'll always admire him because of Brentwood Academy! Say what you will, I believe he was always trying his best to be fair to all. A good man who will be missed for his strong leadership. He did what had to be done regardless who criticized him. Agree or disagree, it doesn't matter. I only hope this man replacing him will try to be just as fair as Ronnie Carter.

  6. Again you don't know what you are talking about. Gregory quit to stand up for the kids! Yeah he taught those kids to stand up for what they believe in and what is right. You don't think they knew why he quit?????????? Thats why they all walked out and stood up there selves for what was right. How many quit when Summey got reassigned???????? That tells you alot. It had nothing to do with getting your way and what makes it worse YOU KNOW THAT but you don't care as long as you can hide behind a computer you think you can say what ever you want to. Real stand up kind of guy.

Not that he mattered to anyone but me and mom,but at least one quit when Summey was "reassigned." His decision totally. I miss him being out there, but I'm happy he missed out on the rest of this. Sorry to butt in again. I have nothing in this conversation,so here I am again.....butting out.

Seems liike he is doing pretty good on his on /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  7. Iknow what you are thinking this is not SLOBBER but heck it's is bubby

so I will help him aswell.

note he did not say who called, hummmmmmmmmm.

What BlueQB12 is trying to say is.

That Slobber called him this morning and said I think they got me

Could you try and throw them a bs line for me and B-QB12 said sure

your ID is safe with me.

And then Sid comes back after The SLobber calls him for making him look

more foolish and try's to recant on earlier post

Boy these SLOBBER buddies keep showing up.

Don't worry SLOBBER I'll be here for ya

So SLOBBER,SID and B-QB12 all say

    DAVE WAS RIGHT.

Dude, I don't need your anti-help to say anything. I mostly mind my own business,so don't go getting in it. It was not slobber who called me this morning,so stop guessing about my cell phone. In case that is not clear enough for you,and so you can understand,I don't mind saying who called. Caleb Bowers called me. Want his number to set up a place to meet him so you can accuse him in person? Any of the rest of you can talk to him also. I don't know who slobberknocker is,it doesn't matter to me,but IT IS NOT CALEB!!

hey mike give me a call if u can

    At the lot?

  8. That is fine and good, but you will have to convince me. How would you know for sure?? You can call me if you wish and explain it all to me. I want speak for Jeff but what he told me, lets just say Jeff has some major questions about that conversation. If it is not one in the same he must have a twin brother, or they have been drinking out of the same watering trough. No need to apologize man

He's not slobberknocker. The one you are thinking of is concerned the real sk will offend someone he doesn't want offended, not that he wants to offend anyone. He will say what is on his mind out loud, and doesn't need a computer to write about it on. He had issues he tried to deal with personally. I've known him a long time,he's a stand up guy,and he IS NOT slobberknocker.

  9. Actually that is not close to a crossbuck, a counter ISO in NO WAY resembles a crossbuck, no wonder you TRY and stay hidden behind a computer "there killing us off tackle" "you should know your the expert."

Dave, I received a phone call this morning. If this off-tackle and expert reference is referring to a conversation at a game this year and this is who you think slobber is, trust me, it isn't. I have nothing in this, have somewhat enjoyed watching and reading as you guys go back and forth, but I promise it's not him. Jeff should know that for sure, also, as they had a conversation about this very thing before. If it's not what you're thinking, I apologize for butting in.

  10. If by good sources you mean ESPN then you are right, they announced those about 10 minutes ago. I would like to see Mike Nolan looked at. He was a good coach with class. I think he could do well at Tennessee. Maybe the Mizzou Offensive coordinator. Whoever it is we will ahve to throw lots of money at. Spurier would be nice.

Mike Hamilton needs to start at the top and work down. Don't settle for mediocrity like in our current OC. Go ask Pete Carroll if he is interested, then work back east from him. Lots of good coaches out there, you never know til you ask! If I had a vote, Butch Davis or Lane Kiffin sound good to me.Steve Spurrier, I wish!

  11. You stole my thunder (about Jeff Smith) while I was posting something else. Jeff roomed with Peyton Manning at UT, and I think I heard Jeff was working for the S&C coach at UT.

Did Gary Moore ever make any NFL teams? What about the nose tackle (Robby?) who played for UT?

From what I've been told by many Meigs fans who knew him, the biggest waste of talent from there was a big QB who played for the Tigers and graduated about 1980. On of the coaches who coached at UT then even stated this kid was one of the most gifted athletes he had ever seen, especially for his size.

    Mike Wilson?

  12. Just to let you know, Oneida High School has been extremely supportive this week. They have sent counselors to aid SHS students, they have sent posters and cards for encouragement, and they have also made donations to each girls memorial fund as well as the scholarship fund. I know the faculty and students of SHS appreciate all of their love and support.

The "red out" shows true class on Catholic's part. SHS Football players will literally leave the burial site of two wonderful girls, return to school, load the bus, and play their last game of the year. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. It will be a difficult night for them.

God help the Scott County players and fans is our prayer, and God bless the Catholic faithful! What a great and touching thing to do! Makes me very proud to be an East Tennessee native! Sharing the burden is the right and Christian thing to do. Still praying for the good people of Scott County!

  13. How about harriman scored 22 on greenback, and 0 on oneida, just food for thought.

Good point. Can't really compare scores, most times it won't add up. This should be a good one though. I have not seen either team play this year, but I do know both programs have rich histories of success, and both play with a lot of class. Two hard-nosed teams doing things the right way....just what football was meant to be! Looking forward to this one. I'll say Greenback in a very close hard fought home field battle.

  14. Well I will tell you this and I am not trying to be inflammatory but I don't see how in the world you guys beat Polk. In my opinion Polk is a much better team than Howard. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I agree about Polk, and believe Central is as well.

  15. howard wins by 40

Don't quit your day job! Great game, very entertaining! Chiefs just need to eliminate a few costly mistakes. Had a great chance to pull the upset. Good night to send the seniors out with a great effort. The only minus(besides the loss itself) were the jerks from Howard when the Chief player was injured. To stand and yell to get him off the field is of the lowest class possible, and should be unacceptable wherever games are played. Just because the game was closer than wanted, don't belittle a possible serious injury. Otherwise, great game to both teams, and good luck to Howard the rest of the year. Get our region a win or two in the playoffs. Hopefully,we'll be there too! GO CHIEFS!
