    The winner of this game may cruise to the title.

     

     

    Thats a silly thing to say considering Livingston Academy just beat Upperman @ Upperman. Which was no fluke. All their games have been close.

     

    You might beat LA, but you won't be able to set that cruise control.

    The Lady bees should win tonight, and the Bees will win tomorrow night, making a Upperman sweep.

     

     

    Well you are already half wrong. LA wins by 2..

     

    Great game LADY WILDCATS!!!!!!!!

     

    Looks like Upperman will be going on the road for the sub-state game..

    I haven't seen this mentioned by anyone else and I admit that, sometimes I only march to my own drummer, but, am I the only one who thinks the officials let JJ get mugged? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

     

     

    They Upperman game is about the most they have every let go on him. Your normally not allowed to touch him. However, he is off to bigger and better things. Best of luck to him.

    I am a huge Dekalb Co. fan and would hate that a bunch of kids would damper the season dekalb was able to put forth this season. Preseason 6th place prediction to 19-12 is not bad. 6 losses to upperman and livingston. Livingston has an unbelievable team, coach and fans and i would hate that everyone would think so less of our program because of a bunch of idiot kids. I know for a fact that coach martin sent his asst. shockley to tell the kids that that was enough and that wasnt the type of class to show. They kept on so he sent a manager to one of the administrators from dekalb to no avail the stupid chants continued. I am just telling you what i saw and heard. Coach martin is all about class and repects the La program very much and wished he could take our program to where you guys are. So i apologize on behalf of all Dekalb co. fans and dont let this ignorance tarnish our whole program because our coach and players bust their tails. Best of luck to 7-AA. Upperman and LA what a final to tuff to call. I know dekalb wished they could have played alot better but give LA all the credit.

     

     

    Classy post. Good to know that they tried to do something about it. Congrats on a great season.

  16. Livingston Academy vs Upperman (Rd.4)

    An all district 7AA final. Livingston & Upperman will meet for the fourth time this season. The teams split during the regular season, each winning on their home court. Livingston Academy won the 3rd game in the district tournament finals.

     

    Upperman's defense looked pretty good tonight against Station Camp.

     

    What are some thoughts?

    LA won big. Here is my problem with the game, Dekalb student section chanting "HOGEYE HOGEYE S*** MY MEAT". Are you freakin kidding me? Your team is down by THIRTY POINTS are you are saying crap like that. Not only dissrespectful, but really upset some people. Including me. I guess that was the only way Dekalb was going to be remembered after that game, because it certainly won't be rememebered by what they looked like on the basketball floor. I don't know about everyone else, but Its hard to respect a team who puts up with their student section saying things like that.

     

     

    Agree. How trashy. Why didn't the Dekalb coach say anything? They were sitting right behind him.

     

    Anyone else notice the LA coach point to his student section right after Dekalb started that sick chant? It looked like he was telling them to act right. The amazing part was that the student section respected him enough to show class like he asked. Another fine example of the fact that this program is about more than just winning. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Its a shame some of Livingstons 'coaching staff' was on the floor cheering for Station Camp.

     

     

    Are you serious? Livingston Academy boy's have one coach. He was sitting a few rows down from me the whole night... I guess it is hard to find things wrong with LA's program, but your gonna have to make up something better than that.

    what is hogeye anyway?

     

     

    Many stories on it... Hard to say for sure..

     

    Here is one story..

     

    The year was 1945, and the Livingston Academy boys basketball team was playing in a tournament held in Cookeville. At this particular game, they were playing against Crossville. Livingston?€™s team was made up almost entirely of players from Independence, Free Communion, and the Bethsaida communities. It was during that game, the girls in the crowd made up the cheer that is still used today, "H-O-G-E-Y-E, Hogeye, Hogeye, T-N-T."

     

     

    Here is another

     

    During the years 1938-1942, most of the Livingston Academy girls basketball team was made up of players from the area known as Hogeye. Because the team had so many players from that one area, that?€™s how the name Hogeye got started.

     

     

    A simple way to put it would be..

     

    HOG-EYE = Livingston Academy /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    6ft unstoppable?? are you kidding john would still shut him out... and when he gets to tech when he plays against sombody 6ft as good as him then he will not know what to do he will be overmatched

     

    and what time game starts tonight??

     

     

    Kinda like John shut him down last year in the region semi-finals..?

    I'm here to tell you ALL something. John Jenkins is a class act. Upperman has a SLIM chance of beating SC. I don't care what all gets said on here. Jenkins will annihilate the BEE'S...Wait and See.

    I wouldn't say that they have a 'slim' chance. Upperman is the better team. It all depends on how they handle Jenkins. The better team doesn't always win.
