  1. JMA32 ?? Your picking jellico, oakdale, and sunbright over wartburg? That is a pretty bold thing to say. Dec. 8 Wartburg plays Jellico and Sunbright Dec 11 so we'll see how that holds up.
  2. Kazam, Who does Oneida bring back this year? I believe that the Lady Dogs will be on top this year with a little luck. It sounds like they bring the most to the table 2 starters returning, 2 soph. that are going to play a major part and several other sound role players, 1 even started a few games last year as a freshman, 2 consecutive trips to the sub-state under their belt, and a coach that is as good as any, even if he ruffles some feathers every now and then. I can't see anyone picking them to finish below 2 in 4 A. Next year Wartburg will be looking to rebuild but this is not next year!
  3. Wartburg lost some pretty good players Chapman all dist, freels all region, Armes all region so I would say that this year will be a tough one if nobody steps up. With that out there I think that Wartburg will be good at the end and O.S. will be also. I wouldnt be suprised to see them in the 4A finals. Then again I wouldnt be suprised to see them in the consolation game either. This year will be even from what I can tell.
  4. Outlaw, Longmire is a Sr. this year also so she and bunch will be back this year. The main loss the dogs had from last year is Taleah Armes. Wartburg did get a transfer from coalfield and she is pretty good but they are losing one to Clarkrange so it will probably even out. Not sure why that one is leaving but my guess is that they have had some sort of problem with Coach Davis. Or Clarkrange has decided to start recruiting Morgan Co. again. I was told the parent had already talked to Coach Rogers and he said he would keep her and wanted her at Crange. Isn't that illegal? I think that the district is going to be too hard to call this year and will say that outlaw is right on who makes the region but don't overlook Sunbright and Oakdale....be interesting to see what Kaz or Superdave think about things.
  5. I think Jordan also. You can't count out Fountain at Wartburg either. If she is healthy she is very hard to guard!
  6. I think that it will be Coalfield #1, Wartburg/O.S. #2, Oneida #4, Oakdale, Sunbright, Jellico #5,6,7 O.S. should still be tough! They had a good J.V. team this year. I keep hearing the rumors that Davis is leaving Wartburg anyone else heard this? The other district will be Tellico without question
  7. I think it will be a good game. Good Luck to both teams!
  8. Well bulldogfamily I thought Coach answered your question very well Really clear that you have some sour grapes with him over something. You seem petty and small he came in and answered your comments up front and you just jabbed at him. He really wasn't defending himself since what you stated was a lie he simply set the record straight in my opinion
  9. Jason built this team and has coached these kids since many of them were in the 7th grade. This is totally his team! Their success is a product of good coaching and JD's ability to get them to believe that a #5 Seed can get to the Regional Finals! Armes Winegar Longmire Freels Chapman Spence......have all been with Jason since the start and it is paying off
  10. I'll Put this question to bed now! What's wrong with the Wartburg Lady Dogs? Wins over Harriman and Oneida have got the dogs in the Region 2-A finals for the second straight year! So Whats Wrong? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Back to the Sub-state for the second year in a row! Great Job Girls and Coach Davis!!! Congratulations to Oneida on a great season also. Look out for that team next year!
  11. Umm Middle School Girls where he won the only County Championship in the last 6 Years at CMS and went to a state tournament, and High School Girls where he won the only Regional Championship in Basketball History and Went to a state tournament. What are you talking about coaching? Every coach I know has lost a few games that he or she shouldn't have. Coaching, Look at what he has done with the Chapman girl this year. He has made her in to a very solid All Tournament Caliber player, and got the team in the regional tournament despite some very serious injuries to his two best players...who by the way are still just playing at about 50 percent! I really don't know how you can say that they have been outcoached everytime what about the Oakdale game in the 4-A tournament? What about the O.S. game in last year's Region? I wouldn't doubt that J. Davis steps down at the end of the year and I can guarntee you we won't make it to state without him. We have a good group of freshmen and incoming 8th graders he has been here 2 years, let him see what he can do with that group. Why don't you go tell Coach to his face? That's the problem with you people wait until Region Tournaments and then stir up some distraction for the girls so they don't play to their ability. Go to him Friday at Harriman and tell him what you think and stop backstabbing him and our girls they should be focused on the game not this trash!
  12. Supergeek, We will see how things go from here on out I would imagine that Oneida will give you guys a game on Monday and you should take in to consideration that everytime someone pushes O.S. you get on here with all kinds of excuses. Looks to me that O.S. missed shots because they were being defended I didn't see many uncontested shots either way. Honestly I don't think that those Post players made much of a difference O.S. seems much better without one of them. Also, look at the fact that Fountain is at about 70% and Armes isn't anywhere near 100% everyone can make excuses this time of year. Wartburg also had some kids that were sick! Next year we will see what O.S. has to work with when they lose Kayla! Better lookout for teams like Coalfield, Oneida, and Wartburg or you guys may miss the region all together!
  13. I think that #4 Oakdale will win by 5 over #5 Wartburg. You can't take away the overwhelming number of times the home team wins this type of game. Plus judging by the way Wartburg looked at Rockwood this team won't have the determination to take a game like this. Oneida will beat Sunbright and I think will upset Coalfield to go the the C-Ship Game. O.S. will destroy Oakdale and win the 4-A Champ. I'll take Coalfield in the Consolation So O.S. will be 1 Oneida will be 2 Coalfield will be 3 Oakdale will be 4
  14. Wartburg's point guard scored her 1000th point friday night at O.S. She has been a really special player at CHS
  15. You're right! I don't think it has a thing to do with not having Fountian and Armes. Where would any other team in the district be without their two best players? You just don't like the coach so you pile on when things get bad. I don't remember you getting on here and giving the kids or the coach any positive comments when they were playing well early in the year. I agree with kaz for the most part I just think that the team is now in a scramble mode to find new pieces of the puzzle and that isnt very easy. I thought that his coaching adjustments were pretty good last night they won the second half 40-31 I think.
  16. Catmommy, What makes you think that Coalfield should be dropped? I haven't seen them play yet this year but thought they should be pretty good. I think that it will be a little easier to see where Wartburg stands after Friday night with sunbright. Oakdale must be playing well also!
  17. Wartburg is A and was up by 14 before the J.V. went in during the third quarter.
  18. Thought it was good to see that O.S. is ranked 6 in the Prepxtra Rankings and Wartburg is 15. Sounds like Dist 4A is looking pretty good for this season. I think that The final district standings will show that O.S. is first and Wartburg is Second. I wouldn't be suprised to see Oneida beat one or both of these teams and the same goes for Coalfield but when tournament time rolls around I believe Wartburg and O.S. will rise to the top!
  19. The Varsity won by about 25 I think and the J.V. won by about 18. The team looked much better but there are still some issues that need to be worked out but from saturday to tuesday there has been some serious improvement. rsquared, I agree with you 100% Dallas Davis is Wartburg Girl's Basketball, Boy's Basketball, Football, Math, Science, P.E. class, runs Hardee's, WECO, Sonic, was the best water boy in TTU's history, and just about everything else that is Wartburg! Go to CHS and look at the facilities they're nasty, the dress code is barely there at all I was embarrased during Halloween, and ask his teachers about discipline in the classrooms. Yep, Dallas Davis has proven to be larger than his school or school system! When Dallas retires do you folks think that the morgan co. board of ed. should close central high school? It would be impossible to replace such a man.
  20. I don't think he cares one way or the other!
  21. Wartburg's coach a year ago had no experience and look how well that turned out. Have faith sunbright. Give the new coach a chance. You won 2 games a year ago. All you can ask for is improvement and that shouldn't be too hard to find. Also, talked to some of the players at Wartburg and they said the only new face in practice was a girl that didn't play her fr or soph year but is trying to come back out and make the team. They said that nobody from sunbright has been in practice at all & I doubt that coach J. Davis is calling trying to get any players to come there. He doesn't do that!
  22. I just feel like it is a sad situation. Wartburg can't get the athletes to play football and that stinks. I don't look for things to turn around for a long time out here. I heard that we may get to drop down to A next year. Is that true? If so we might be able to compete. But over the last few years we haven't beat the A teams either. I just hope that they can turn it around.
  23. Coalfield still seems to be a little out of it on Offense. Coming in to the game I would have thought that Coalfield would be the stronger team in the line. But it was Wartburg that seemed to be stronger in that area and they were able to pull it out. I think that we are a long way from where we would like to be but friday night was a step in the right direction. Good Job Boys! We are proud of you!
