I just don't know about boyd.. Haven't seen him play. I've heard great things about him, though. I look for Brandon Messick to step up. I know he isn't a senior but he's an athlete. I think he could make a great wing-t qb, personally. Look for peetie and sam bass to step up as well. I wish dodd would step up for us too

I would love to give my opinion but you gave it for me.... i agree with what you said. I do think that this new group brings a different style and maybe a little more tenacity and aren't afraid to get in your face. They just have to learn to use it.

Good point!!!!!! I don't want them to be known as a cheapshot team either. I want them to be known as a team that will take your head off if you come across the middle, not dive at your shoelaces or wrap you up and wait for help.

Ok, that's enough. I don't need to defend myself. Let's talk about Oakland, not players who couldn't hack it or personal vendettas towards the program. How can this team move forward after a pretty disastrous ending to last year? First, forget about last year. The players don't need to dwell on what could have or should have happened. Second, they need to rally around each other and fight. But what i think is the most important thing they should do is get MEAN. Toughen up. It would not bother me one bit if they never helped an opposing player up after a hit. They are are not out there to socialize with friends from other schools. They should hate those players for four quarters. Hug, joke, laugh, and cut up after the game. There is a fine line between being a poor sport and being "HARD". Don't take cheap shots but don't pull up to avoid giving a big hit because off the field this guy is my friend. There is also a fine line between being a good sportsman and being "SOFT". I remember when I was younger that the worst teams in leagues or tournaments always "showed the best sportsmanship". I say throw that crap out the window and get N-A-S-T-Y!!!!!

I mentioned the big three tailbacks...McGowan is one. If i mentioned wr's i would have mentioned Peetie. You got a problem with that? Maybe someone is a little glory hungry??? Why not mention elrod? he should be the leader of that o-line this year. Give me a position to talk about and i'll mention those players.

I have a ton of confidence in Oakland's tail backs this year. I think the big three will be Sam Bass, Precious, and McGowan. They are all working hard and they are getting their heads right!!! They might even be running track this spring to help with speed and agility. I think we will see sam less at fullback and more at tailback. Also mcgowan could see an increase in carries as well. However, if Precious is allowed to get in a rhythm he could be devastating to opposing defenses.

coming out of high school they might not be top rated players, but how many top rated players doe MTSU expect to sign? These players don't take up scholarships and I'm not saying every player should get a shot. Like i said earlier how many Blue Chip/Five Star players did Boise State have this year.... I bet none. Middle has to take chances and I think there are some local kids that could bring a different attitude to that program. This area has solid, not great, but solid talent with character.

Oakland ran the power I last season as their base offense. the blocking scheme for that O is probably the toughest to run successfully in HS football. Riverdale on the other hand ran the wing-t witch is not as complex blocking scheme. This is not a bash on riverdale!!! Maybe a toned down scheme would help the confidece of oakland's line

I think middle should talk to as many kids from rutherford county as possible. They might not be D1 right out of high school but do you think teams like Boise State and Utah, or Troy get D1 blue chips??? The thing about rutherford county players is they know how to win...especially riverdale. It only takes a few local WALK-ONS to stir up more local interest and in turn fill seats. Just ask Coach Insell just him alone stirred interest. I think a scott thomas, corven parks, or a kaelin griffith could strive in that program. These players wouldn't cost the team ant scholarships that could be used for bigger prospects.

why are you surprised?? I think it smart for middle to take chances on local walk ons, especially if the qualify for the lottery scholarship. In shanes case he gets the lottery scholarship and gets money because his mother is a teacher. I am just surprised that MTSU hasn't contacted more kids. 2priceless, Andrew McGowan is going to Middle but not playing ant sports. He just doesn't want to.

Congrats to Shane Blissard as well, he will be walking on at MTSU as an invited/preferred walk-on this fall!

District championships mean nothing...you don't get rings for district wins. Riverdale looks good but i think their weak link could be pitching. I like oakland's chances also. it just depends on how well they can come together this year.

Yeah Michael had some problems this off season. but call it frustration. i know for a fact that many players and coaches are frustrated with losing and they should be. he has since discussed things with the coaching staff and has stepped up to serve out his punishment, not turn around and quit on his team or bash them through an online chat!!!!!!!!!!! He was never going anywhere but oakland. don't know where that came from!!! i know all these thing for a fact 100% positive about my facts that i give!!!!!!!!! If you have been around Oakland for the past ten years you know who i am and you know this is the truth!!!!!!!!! OUT

McGowan Is Not gone!! I think that is obvious now. Don't spout off before you know the whole truth
