sycamore lost both, they are done.
I heard the score was:
Sycamore-3
Cwood-15
person i was talking to wasnt sure of the exact score. "a lot to a little, something like 15 or 16 to 3"
-
Thats cool.
yeah everyone should consult tssaa handbooks first and that one is clear. some are not though. whole different topic.
-
No misunderstand, i just misread. I looked up the middle school rule, just in the wrong section of the tssaa handbook =p
-
so everyone who tries to get into liberty has their names put in a lottery.
so say the best middle school player in the county doesnt get his name pulled in the lottery, he cant go to liberty? or do the coaches get him in?
-
my bad, i looked in the wrong section. I read:
RULE 10 – All coaches must be approved by the principal, superintendent, and/or local board of
education. Any coach who is not a full-time employee of the school system and does not possess a
teacher’s certificate or the equivalent or is not a retired educator must attend the TSSAA Coaches
Training Session within his or her first year of assuming the position. A fine of $50.00 will be assessed
to the school if the coach does not attend and he or she will be required to attend the next available
meeting. All non-faculty coaches must complete the NFHS Coaches Education Program in a TSSAA-
approved course within five years of assuming the position.
Schools must submit the names of all non-faculty coaches to the state office each year. A school must
pay an annual registration fee of $40.00 per coach. The maximum fee for a school to register non-
faculty coaches will be $100.00 per year.
-
You do not have to work at the school system.
Also you do not have to have been a asst. coach for 5 years or retired.
Just take the classes and you can be a coach.
the 5 years thing you guys keep thinking of is: The coach must take the class with in 5 years of getting the job. HOWEVER a 50$ per year fine will be charged each year to the school until the coach completes it.

QUOTE(nebuntyn @ Mar 17 2007 - 11:58 AM) 826415323But again this the south and this is Tennessee, so nothing suprises me. Let the truth be told, this is a cultural issue. But the higher ups would never admit that, because that's not the "politically" correct thing to do. Just a new and improved 1800's.
Same old thing, but a different way of doing it.
it is the same for everyone.

I want to know his free throw secrets.
do they spend an hour a day shooting them? ha.
-
i'll be there.
just going to see some good basketball.
-
I dont have ties with either school.
with that being said I thought it was a great game to watch. Gleason has amazing fundementals and a special talent from the line.

-
that is what they want everyone to believe for obvious reasons. (causing team fights etc.)
-
it is the case... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
and i dont know anything about the teams, but if that is true it is sad. I feel bad for them if they truly deserved it and others did not.

coaches pick their own from the team.

QUOTE(papatiger @ Feb 27 2007 - 04:23 PM) 826392122You didn't have to, you are a rowdyrebel you said. Either way, look at my post, I said I don't think he could start for Harpeth in my opinion. We all have opinions, right? We have the right to have those.
Either way to what got us on this conversation, Austin Lohin is a really good player, not great. If you think he's great you need to check your basketball knowledge. I've seen players like him for 30 years. A lot of them.
Coach Williams and Liberty Tech could name this score if they want. I still say 101-78 because he will call off the dogs and I expect the Sycamore coach to do the same as Cheatham's coach, play his starters to the end even against LT's 3 & 4 string. He will play 17 guys tonight. I assume they want it to look better in the paper in the morning.
I'm pretty sure Coach Wilson would find a place for him.
And Sycamore is getting killed 61-30. Not surprising.
EDIT:
LT - 89
SHS-65

I think Sycamore has the guards in #10, #14 and #21.
Although Mt. Juliet's guards will be amazing next year.
If you look at post, I think Mt. Juliet has #50 and Sycamore has #44 who split games this year. 50 had 2 big games (MJ wins) and #44 contained her in 2 games (2 sms wins.)
The other post MJ's 21 creates match up problems because she killed sms's #24.
I think overall the teams are very closely matched. Sycamore maybe having a slight nod due to the better guards. I think MJ has the nod in the post, although Sycamores #44 can contain 50 (2 points in the area game) when she feels like it. I dont know what was going through her mind tonight though.
You'd have to talk that over with him then.
By the way i didnt mean he directly said he was impressed with her as a coach, just with the coaching job she has done with the girls.
I do find it funny that the only game they had within 10 points was the loss to Mt. Juliet in the opener. Every other game, but tonight, was a win by 11+
-
I wouldn't be so sure about that. I know her and Coach Wilson are close friends. The teams are ran very differently though. Everything was changed this year.
I wouldn't call her "Great" just yet. She has the potential though. She only got 2 girls back that played any minutes last year and still managed to take them to 20-2.
From what I heard Coach Johnson say, he was pretty impressed.
-
Coach Johnson is an amazing coach with a great history.
There was no way he was letting Sycamore win 6 out of the last 7 against his Mt. juliet ladies. He proved that tonight.
Great Job Coach Johnson.
-
Ouch, so they have no open dates a year?
that is kinda rough situation.
Anyway this has gone off topic.
Congrats to Mt. Juliet/Johnson and Sycamore/Weeks.
Hopefully you guys provide us with some more good ones next year. It is amazing watching these two teams play and the coaches coach against one another and how they adjust one game to another. Although I admit 4 times a year is a little much. =p
-
Didn't seen lebanon on their schedule.
Anyway congrats again to Mt. Juliet and Sycamore for great years and playing today in the final.
I'll be interested in seeing how both these young programs develop and if Sycamore can keep that amazing 2 year record going.
-
How much talent do they have coming back?
Congrats to Coach Johnson and Mt. Juliet for a great season and championship. I think you girls only lost 4 games this year (two to sycamore.) Very impressive.
Also congrats to Coach Weeks and Sycamore for a good season. Disappointing to not see these girls go back to back, but the 2 year record of 44-2 is pretty nice.
Stoeker and Weeks both have a tough year to come if either plan on winning the 08 sectional. Mt. Juliet will be loaded next year returning a good bit of players.
Although I dont think siegel plays mt juliet in the season. I'm sure we will see sycamore and mt juliet for like the 9th, 10th and 11th time next year.
Maybe Siegel will go out of their conference next year and play mt. juliet or sycamore.
-
I didnt post the score because i dont know the exact. It was 6 at half. Got out of hand late. Probably about 22.
-
I think they were prepared. They knew what they run. They have beaten them twice by 16 and 11.
Mt. Juliet just wanted it more.
as to a difference? sycamore was 20-2 i believe.
I think they are the better team, playing a harder schedule.

Maybe, like i said they just told me "a lot to a little, I think it was 15 or 16 to 3."
They were there but said they didnt remember the exact score.
Anyway I heard sycamore played pretty bad. They probably got worked up over the first game then blew the 2nd.
