  1. Who looks good in 13 AAA This season

Hardin County, Liberty, Brighton, and Munford should all pretty evenly matched again this year..

Its hard to say who the favorite is this early in the season but it will definitely be another intersting year in district 13AAA

  2. New coach for Liberty is Danny Giles. This is very good news to a program on the upswing. He is young and knows the game. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  3. That was a great game, with both teams playing well and having lots of baserunners. Summertown continued to battle. I'm just glad JCS had the last at bat. Congrats to Martin Key for the walk-off homer and the win.

Best of luck to Summertown rightfielder Blake Phillips who suffered a leg injury and was transported to the hospital. Blake, JCS is praying for your recovery.

    Bring it home, JCS!!!!

Congrats to JCS and to Martin for his second walk-off of the state tournament.

    Yesterday's single and today's home-run

  4. Way to go Bartlett Panthers Great Win tonight against Houston. Also, Congrats to Arlington. We are so proud of you guys. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Remember.... Play hard and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

    Congrats!

  5. Just wanna hear everyones thoughts and opinions on this one !!!

i think bartlett will take this one but i sure wouldnt count brighton out of it..

they have a very tough lefthanded pitcher in Colter Millikan who didnt give up a run all season in district play and was named district MVP...

    Good luck to both teams

  6. Who got the first seed going into district tournament? Whoever got first is automatcially going to the region tournament. If liberty was in first that means liberty and brighton go to region.

there was a regular season first place tie between hardin county and brighton. Therefore there was no automatic bid to region and it all came down to the tournament..

    Liberty number 1, Brighton number2

  7. Liberty won over brighton 1-0 this afternoon for the championship.

a well pitched game for both teams. gavin lindsey( allowed 3 hits) for Liberty and Jeremy White(allowed just 2 hits) for Brighton..

both threw complete games but liberty just pulled it out in the end on a walk-off base hit by evan walls..

good luck to both teams as they play in region next week.

  8. Munford 4-0

    Brighton 5-1

    HC 4-2

    Liberty 3-5

    JCM 0-8

It all comes down to the final week.

Munford: Needs to sweep either Brighton or HC and split with the other to win the district out right

Brighton: Needs HC to take at least one from munford, then a sweep of munford would win the district, a split would result in a tie.

HC: Needs some magic to happen. Will need to sweep munford, then have munford sweep brighton. HC more likely situation would be for brighton and munford to end up tied and try to advance with the tournament.

anyone know when brighton and munford play??

  9. District games between Lexington and Bolivar Mon and Tues. Wish I could be there. Who wins? Will it be Keck vs. Irvin on the mound the same night or will it be #1 vs. #2?

these 2 games should be very interesting... i would have to say its pretty much a toss up.

both teams are very solid all around.

i would love to see a keck/Irvin matchup.

if im not mistaken, all bolivar has to do is split and they take the district title??

  10. USJ vs Ripley this week. How have these teams done up to this point? Zack Lewis is Number 1 pitcher for Ripley and Gant for USJ. Who are the number 2 pitchers? How does this series pan out?

Ripley got off to a very hot start but have dropped a few games the last week or two that they probly should have won...

Jeffrey Edwards is the number 2

  11. A word to Lexington players and fans -- do yourselves a favor, and give it a rest. Continue to work hard. Let what you do on the field speak for itself. My prediction is that if this stuff doesn't quit, there will be far more Lexington haters than lovers before the season is out. Better to go into the playoffs under the radar.

And next year -- if you want to really measure the strength of your team, choose better early season tournaments. For example -- Lewis Harris and the Warrior Classic. As has been well-documented, the strength of your schedule this year so far is very questionable.

    JMO

i agree... Lexington is a VERY talented team with VERY talented players and they do have a great shot to go deep into the state tournament.. but we dont need topics like this to tell us how good they are.

With that said- Good luck to the Tigers, and I wish them the best.

  12. Gage Franklin from Hardin County is just a junior and is tough and will be lights out as a senior. The change-up from this lefty is almost illegal. Nice curve and good moving fastball.

i saw this kid pitch a little last year...

Pretty decent fastball with some mean off-speed pitches.

he is definitely a pitcher who can make a hitter look foolish.

  13. Every year Liberty turns out a great team. I play for Hardin Co. and I pitched 2 games against them last year with a total of 0 ER at around 10-12 innings. Liberty capitalized on our mistakes which is a mark of a good team. District 13AAA always turns out good teams year in and year out even though there's not really any big names, but they always seem to give great teams trouble. I have no doubt that Brighton and Munford are going to be great as usual. I look forward to the season and may the best team win.

sounds like four pretty evenly matched teams to me.

  14. I dont know too much about liberty except for they have had solid seasons ever since the school was there. Could you enlighten me?

Liberty has a good baseball program... they have had 20 wins each of the four years of the program..

they should do very well this year even with the loss of 5 key seniors.. A young but talented team so it should be interesting to see what happens.
