  1. alright im gonna stick up for my boy muth...first off he is a GREAT defender and i was not at the game (too early) but my pops told me that muth had to take down carter both times...first time resulted in a goal and second (one in ot) did not. both were smart fouls and he eventually saved the game because i heard carter was prob going to score if muth hadnt pulled him down the second time....but the bad part is that muth will be out for two games (lame rule by tsaaa and shows how ridiculous tennessee soccer is) the thing is every player should play each game to win...i have never ever thought of trying to lose a game because circumstances affecting the game. i hate to lose and i know muth does too so who ever would have let carter score so farragut could play "oak ridge with muth" instead of west without him is ignorant or not a true competitor. smart fouls are part of the game it happens in both the nba and the nfl...watch when a corner is beat he will reach out and grab the reciever...usually it only results in a 5 yard holding penalty which is much better than a td thus when muth fouled carter it resulted in a direct kick (which beaver saved) and not a goal. muth you did the right thing homie and its stinks u wont be able to play west but ur teammates should step up for you

  2. Too bad bearden got murdered by farragut mr. backstrom..how do you feel about your school and that convincing win?

yeah i was real happy especially wit the pops coaching to hear they won 3-0 but since i wasnt at the game i didnt get to see how farragut matched up against beardens varsity. i am planning on coming to the district final friday which should be a huge game between farragut bearden with the loser traveling to wests awful field for an elimination game...intense

  3. oh and tron, i noticed that you all tied Lambuth.... can you tell me alittle more about that scrimmage? yes i know it was just a scrimmage but still interested. Lambuth is a dangerous team with dangerous players. How did you guys match up with them?

im going to be completly honestly with you. firts off we decided to play most of the spring season even though they cut our program. we did tie them but i wasnt impressed with them either. we were winning one zero the whole game and had many chances to put the game away (including myself i missed a break away by trying to chip the keeper but it just went over) they did have some really good players but also a lot of "iffy" players. we had a game against kentucky later that game so we did rest most of our the starters the second half and they scored when one our players slippin to clear the ball and one of their players finished his oppurtunity. overall i think the score should have been 3-1 in all honesty

  4. People listen to Psudo...... and Tron bash berea all you want but a pikeville college (worse team in NAIA) scored more goals on them in there first year then you all did. Berea playing UC would be a joke. Tron i have played them and if you all only beat them by three then i wouldn't be worried about any other NAIA program. i don't care what the conditions were. We are KILLING teams that KILLED Berea. Bearea plays in the weakest conference in the nation and they still don't even compete in the top 4 of the conference. Oh and for the KING game comment..... game was not even close. they scored in the last minutes with possetion being like 70-30 in our favor. Time before that when we played them it was 4-0 and that was when they were 17 in the land. Don't bash teams you know NOTHING about. As for Azuza Pacific..... They would beat any D-I team you put in front of them.

ucsoccer what i have learned from playing a year in d1 college soccer is that ANYTHING can happen...pretty much any team can beat any team on any given day...its so different from high school. in college "most" teams can compete with most other teams. in the case of our season last year, pretty much every game was extrememly close. we were beating creighton (number 10 team in the nation at the time) 1-0 all game and then they scored two goals in the last ten minutes. creighton went to the sweeet sixteen and another team from our conference (bradley) made it to the elite eight and i must say i wasnt not impressed with either team. but then we would go from that game to playing a middle of the pack d1 school and the game would be just as close. this may have been do to our extreme youth with only one senior who played most games but it just seemed like most teams were equal in talent. we actually played berea for senior night and it had been raining for three days (it rains all the time here in kentucky) our coach didnt want to cancel senior night so we decided to play in the rain. the thing was because of the rain our field was completly flooded so we had to play on our football field (cuz of the turf) lets just say most of my teammates could care less about the game (actually had a few drink before the game) we played all our seniors and our usually starters got a rest. i only played 10 mins so 3-0 outcome is what it is....a win. but i must say they were really really bad. i felt bad for them but they were really excited to play a d1 team so it was all good.

  5. ok, first off i never once said cumberland was the team i was referring to. so please dont try to put words in my mouth, second of, i dont care how many state rings u have i have one as well, so i dont care. and i'm glad you enjoyed playing my family... thats awesome... ok now try and think people, don't just let the word division one cloud your judgement, yeah they do get the best of the best players FROM AMERICA!!! and lets face it they are just way way way to far behind the foreigners in the level of skill they bring to the field. i mean honestly on these NAIA teams there are players that are 24 years old that were playing professionaly in countries like germany, brazil, scotland, etc. and they are just better then the ppl from here in america. i love how ppl throw around D1 like it is so great, oh ben backstrom went to a D1 school... good for him, he's so great he went to a school that no longer even has a team lol... if he is so good why didnt he go to california, or texas to play.... now once again let me restate this, i do not think that NAIA would destroy the top teams in D1, i said that they would demolish most teams in D1, although i think NAIA is better, which they are, some D1 schools would give them fits, now let me be real clear here, i am talking about the top D1 schools, like wake forest, ohio state, virginia tech, and the top NAIA schools, which are Azusa Pacific, Lindsey Wilson, and Mobile. i dont even play soccer anymore so yeah, i could care less what you say about the cumberlands, and the TNFC team played cumberlands reserve team, and the reserve team didnt even play their starters for crying out loud, so dont give me that crap... like TNFC 90 could play with cumberlands real team LOL... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, what a joke. oh yeah btw D1 is so great ohhh ben backstrom his team won 4 games lol, and they lost to Xavier which is a NAIA school oh wait they also lost to EVansville which is wait, yet another NAIA school, lol. once again HAHAHHAAHAHAHA but he is so great for going to D1 lol. what a joke. and being as good as king... CUMBERLANDS BEAT KING 3-1 SO GOOD ONE..... thats good enough to prove my point for now.

WOW your are absolutely ignorant...first of all evansville is def not naia. they play in the missouri valley conference with western kentucky...wow you are so dumb and your second supposed naia team xavier plays in the atlantic ten conference...also division one. western did play one naia team berea and beat them 3-0 in a monsoon...berea was worse than most high school teams...cool division HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and not too mention western started 1 or 0 seniors every game but i guess you just couldnt cut it at cumberlands...that is a tough school to play for...sike. i just dont understand why you and your family enjoys hatin on kids...cool life

  6. i played naia and no it is not a generalization. lets look at it from a different point of view, in naia the rules for who can be given scholarships is extremely different and i played with MEN, not like 18 year olds that just came out of high school, i mean 24-26 year olds that played in Germany, England, Brazil, while division one schools start players like ben backstrom, altho he was a good player, ben would get destroyed by the players in NAIA. lets face it the level of soccer in America is not close to the level of soccer in the rest of the world and since NAIA can use those players they are better then the Division one schools here in America. now that being said there are exceptions, of course bigger schools CAN draw some great talent, therefore they can play with the foreigners, but all in all, NAIA is just better then D1. so if any of these players form TN are going to good D1 schools and actually play then good for them, but until i see it, i won't even care about the D1 signees, western kentucky, isnt a good D1 school, so please don't try that.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA wow...you are straight ridiculous. first of all lets be honest with ourselves...you go to the university of the cumberlands hahaha why are you hating on other people...most people havent even heard of your school....you only have like 1400 students or somethin like that. stop hating on kids that go d1 just cuz you didnt. there is a reason why its division ONE...cuz its the best naia still has some really good teams but very few. o yeah and i loved playin your family in state championships in high school...the freshmen and senior rings are awesome to have haha...and ill leave you with another quote ..ike the dem franchize boyz say u need to stop "talkin out da side of ya neck"

  7. they r overated, in that game against brentwood, bearden had an own goal... and didnt play very well. i'm not saying that they r just god awful, but they r very very overrated... they always get built up and built up for what... losing. yeah they won state, but who cares, look at their schedules from the past they definetily arent playing a farragut or bearden schedule.

and i love when ppl talk abotu d1 signees, that is also overrated. look at ben backstrom, he went to a d1 school and... now that school is what... losing their soccer team... that is awesome though he went d1... try playing against naia, that is where the good players are, all those foreigners, they would dominate most d1 schools, of course maybe not at the top of the top, but for the run of the mill d1 schools, they would destroy them.

yeah backstrom's school lost their team cuz of some bull reasons but they also beat kentucky, evansville, and two other division schools in their spring season this year. thats what happens when you only lose one senior from last years team. so dont even try to bash on d1 schools. once losing his program he has had offers to saint marys college in cali, winthrop, marquette, unc asheville, and carson newman (all d1 expcept cn who is a very good d2 school) naia schools in now way would "run" "destroy" or "dominate" most d1 schools...as flo rida says "act like ya know" ezion

  8. So Dins coached against Webster and Backstrom..this has to narrow the list down quite a bit.

So that means the list is narrowed down between Lenoir City, West, McMinn, Maryville, Oak Ridge or Sevier County.

I Know its not Maryville because he doest know Ryan Pugh, and we recently played SC and I know its not him. I would say its not McMinn because that is a GREAT distance for a coach to travel to see and know so many players from the Knoxville area.

This leaves Lenoir City, West and Oak Ridge. I do not think that it is West because I dont see Coach Ashes perosnality in Dins. So that leaves LC and Oak Ridge. I am going to say he coaches at Oak Ridge because he said he also coaches girls and the Oak Ridge coach, coachs both girls and boys.

OJ Sheppard maybe? Any thoughts anyone?

D you could be right but thing is dins def knows what he is talking about so it shouldnt matter who he is...ya feel me on that cuz?

  9. the farragut catholic game ended in a 2-2 tie. you can tell that it is still the preseason but i think farragut outplayed catholic. i might be a little harsh in my criticism for catholic because this is my first game watching catholic on the other side of the fence. i think cathlic needs to work the ball around the field not just up the field. tyler mottern scored both of farraguts goals. his second was very impressive. ricardo and spencer had a goal for farragut. i thought farragut was able to control the game in every way possible. they worked the ball around the field so effortlessly. i dont think catholic played to the best they can but then again it is just the preseason. farragut has way too many good players

bubs scored two goals...dats whats up!!! keep it up son

  10. its been a while since iv posted so i think its finally time that i do. ucsoccer im gonna have to disagree with you. everyone holds d-1 soccer at a high level like they should. there is no way that the top naia teams could beat the top d1 teams. d1 is definitely stronger than naia. part of the reason some naia teams manage against d1 teams is a mental problem with d1 teams. i think and i have talked to some d1 guys that play the smaller schools and none of them ever find the motivation to play against these schools. its not as exciting to them so i think that is part of the issue. but take the good d1 schools on their best days and put them against naia schools on their best days and d1 wins 99% of the time.

with all that being said i have nothing against naia, there are good players that play in that division i know plenty of them. but the naia cannot compete on a regular basis with d1 in my opinion.

i think you are right though in saying that d1 soccer is not always the prettiest soccer. it can be very physical and not very pretty at times so d1 is not anywhere close to perfect.

the real reason i wanted to post is to say that i absolutely hate the topic that this forum is on. title 9 ticks me off so bad and i agree with what many of you have already said.if more d1 programs had soccer for men (especially the SEC). if the SEC had soccer, it would be a very high level conference b/c in my opinion the best players come from the southeast and these players would stop going up to the acc to play with them. but of course none of this can happen b/c we have a stupid rule called title 9. i wish the people who thought up this rule had never existed

i agree with pretty much everything you said and ive played/seen a lot of soccer

  11. By the way, I played with your "pops" this summer! That old man can get around! He is quite the player. Good thing his son takes after his mother! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Yeah i guess my bro did take after my mom while i took after my dad lol...but yeah the pops has some skills and speed thats why i think he will make an excellent coach...maybe he can learn some from the cak coach...the girls coach haha

  12. You in town this weekend? If so, and you are going to church tomorrow, try and find me.

Very interesting scores. While I don't put too much in these minigames, those scores suprise me. I would love to know how much the starters played in each game...

No im actually up here at western where we played our last two games yesterday (we beat kentucky 2-0 the last game) but my dad told me the scores (guess it was 0-0 not 1-1) on sat and i was also very surprised. Pinball dont worry when tron is back in town, he will def come to practice to help the pops out

  13. Tron, he had better be going back with me to Hilton Head to do those soccer camps this summer! If you see him, please convey that message!

haha he said he would love to but he actually is working summer staff for young life up in new york for all of june...he just needs to get away for a month and serve but he did say that camp last summer in hilton head was amazing
