  22. It is a sad day in High School Softball when adults try and destroy or crumble something that is so good for our young girls It is a sad day in High School Softball when adults try and destroy or crumble something that is so good for our young girls. The MTSCA was formed in the summer of 2004 by a GROUP of high school coaches. It was formed as FOR NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION, to solely benefit the high school softball player, to give more recognition and to showcase Middle Tennessee talent. Since 2004, the MTSCA has given away over $50,000 in college scholarships, recognized hundreds of young ladies for their hard work in the classroom with the All Academic Award, and at the same time has showcased in some form or fashion over 85 schools, between All Midstate, Senior All Stars, and TN/KY games. The ultimate goal was to eventually go state wide and form an organization for the entire state of Tennessee. It was attempted in the early years but it did not have enough interest. Knowing that we were a new organization, there would be many obstacles to overcome. Our goal was not forgotten and we would eventually try again. We knew it would take coaches working together to make this happen. Now some of those individuals that left our organization have decided to form a statewide association. There is no problem with this at all. But at the same time – THEY NEVER CONTACTED THE CURRENT OFFICERS TO GIVE THEM THE COURTESY OF INCLUDING THE MTSCA. We would like to merge this, but those individuals refuse to meet with ANY of the officers to discuss the correct progression of our sport and organization. The officers of the MTSCA IN GOOD FAITH have contacted them and they are unwilling to sit down and discuss anything. We are not sure why they are trying to crumble the one organization they started. No organization is perfect. Mistakes were made the first year and mistakes were made this year. Just like we tell our players – when you make a mistake, learn from it and try and correct it. We have tried our best to do that. The MTSCA believes it’s a great idea to go statewide. But we feel that it should be done in good faith and with INTEGRITY. THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE. We will not try to post on top of post so we are on the top of the CoachT message boards. We are an organization for the young ladies of Middle Tennessee High School Softball. We will keep you updated as to our membership and our tournament. No one in our organization will try to make money off of our tournament or events. We support High School Softball programs who subsidize their programs with High School tournaments and fundraisers. ALL OF OUR MONEY GOES BACK TO THE GIRLS. Our officers are CURRENT high school softball coaches who are not in this for the money or recognition. We want and encourage any and all Middle Tennessee HS Coaches to come and be a part of the meetings and events. Since they have refused to have anything to do with the MTSCA – we have decided to go forward with the organization because we feel some of your players will not be recognized as much as if we did not have this. We will still offer all the same benefits and opportunities as we have in the past years. Please help us continue to make this a great avenue for our young ladies.
  23. The MTSCA is now opening the membership drive for the 2012-2013 school year.
