1. By the way Big L- what are your soccer credentials? Are you paying at a D1 level? D2, NAIA.....enlighten me with your vast knowledge! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I'd say i have a decent amount of stuff to lay out there from d1 club state championships to premier league championships as well as a large amount of tourny championships as well as finalist in many top ranked tournaments. As for the whole college soccer thing my junior year i was recruited by the University of New Mexico while playing in the southeastern regional tournament I'll go ahead and state UNM finished 2nd that year in college soccer losing to a very talented Maryland side in the 05 final. I was also recruited to by many other d3 d2 d1 schools, but instead i chose to be apart of the new ETSU team that was forming. Once at ETSU I decided That i wanted to focus more on school so I moved back home where I am now coaching a High school team (which is why i would post on this board or even be on it in the first place :-/....) I apologize if you aren't craig because it was more of a knock at him not you.

  2. "and if west wants to make semi finalist tshirts then they can do all they want, they beat farragut and bearden that year what more can you ask of them? if its the best season they have had in history then it makes perfect sense to put that on the back of the tshirt."

Lolz thats kinda funny.... A semi finalist shirt, now that'd be a joke :-/

  3. I'm very curious to know who the best player in the state is. What is everyone's opinion?

From what I hear a guy named Will Walker is a straight baller... I even heard he signed with Maryland... I would love to see more footage of this kid. hands down Will Walker is the best player in the state and possibly the southern region

What about Mark Sherrod from Carter? He had 43 goals in his freshman year.

He goes to Carter.... I could score 100 goals playing goalie in that district :-/

  4. To squash any rumors, and to hear straight from the source, we wanted to post what's going on.

Brandon initially thought that he wanted to take this spring off, as a break before his college season started. Since starting soccer at age 4, he has played near year round since that time. He figured of all the times that he could do it, this spring was the best option. So, after the Alcoa match, he approached me and said that he was going to sit this one out.

As in many things in life, you sometimes don't realize how much you will miss something until it is gone. Brandon and I have communicated often, and this week, as we talked, broached that subject. While many teams would have just jumped at the chance to get him back, and just openly take him right away, I decided the team needed to be involved in the decision. The captains met with the coaching staff and Brandon and discussed the ramifications and pros and cons.

While from a soccer standpoint, this is an easy decision, there are a lot of other things involved in these kind of situations, and we wanted to address them all before we came to a conclusion.

So to make a very long discussion short, Brandon is back on the team. While that might not surprise many of you, the decision was not made lightly.

If any of you know me, I am very glad to have Brandon back, but not for the reasons you think. He and I have been very close since I taught him in 6th grade, and I am happy for one more season with him before he heads off to college.

Wait BigG you didn't answer one of the rumors..... Is Brandon Tarr really a baby raptor jesus?

  5. Could care less about this team... maybe the reason no one talks about south doyle is because no one cares. Even your own fans think that haha. But hey look at it this way... you have started a topic that talks about why south doyle doesnt get talked about. Oh the irony /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I find it funny on how you are so insecure about your team that you have to bash on some other team... no one really cares about your personal opinion honestly..... Roflcoppter

  6. QUOTE(imronburgundy @ May 15 2007 - 09:50 AM) 826459457obviously you have never seen karns play R.U.R.....they have a really good defense and there is no way that farragut could "easily" score 8 goals against karns...there is a reason that karns is in regionals...they didnt get there by getting crushed by teams like farragut...after all, they did tie and beat oak ridge...farragut is a good team with a great offense but karns deserves more credit than they are getting

Well Ronburgundy i think he has seen Karns play and i think he beat them 5-1.. they don't have a good defense but they have a good offense. So i guess you haven't seen them play

  7. QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ May 9 2007 - 07:59 PM) 826455848I like lacrosse too pinball. Are you going to the NCAA Championships? I have been the last 5 years. It is great.

Farragut played really well tonight. King was right when he said it was close. I was kind of surprised that it didn't stay 1-0 the whole time. Farragut had some good chances but couldn't put it away, but they made up for it in the 2nd half.

Farragut played very well tonight.. good luck to you all the rest of the season

  8. QUOTE(ValverdeTDF07 @ May 8 2007 - 08:56 PM) 826454937they are nothing alike and frankly i cant see LC winning thestate championship which is what i am talking about.

Ha Ha I know baseball and soccer are not the same sport ( I hope everyone knows that) But what you said is that Farragut has yet to win against a "Big Dog" team, and you think that will hurt them. I am just saying that it is tournament time and anything can happen in the tournament. ( Who thought Sevier county would beat Maryville?) Nothing up to this point matters....The tourny is like the start of a new season everyone starts out 0-0-0

  9. QUOTE(ValverdeTDF07 @ May 8 2007 - 07:46 PM) 826454830not true, your team must have quality top notch wins to go all the way. without one when you get to a big game you are much more likely to fall apart. they can get those kind of wins in region and district but they are running out of time

haha well look at the Baseball district tourny.. LC beat out Bearden and Farragut when LC was 8th going into the tourny..

  10. QUOTE(ValverdeTDF07 @ May 8 2007 - 07:26 PM) 826454803I would have to say that playing bad in the rain is an excuse. Their two losses have been agianst Bearden and Oak Ridge. The other three ranked teams that they have played this year they have tied. I have said earlier that I think Farragut has the most talented team in the state, and one of the best shots at going all the way but the fact is that they have yet to win a big game agianst "the big boys."

the only thing is that none of this matters. Its tourny time, the start of a new season

  11. QUOTE(wbcsoccer11 @ May 4 2007 - 01:18 PM) 826451777well seymour had one of their starting defenders out as well not to mention a forward so any more excuses

and the red card was right on Brent Bell even said he wasn't smart in his challange and he had been doing things like that all year and so i do know what i am talking about im a genius with a insight from one of your coaches

    no offense taken

the real thing was that we had our main defender out so we had to pull our Main offensive player #12(Burns) and throw him in the back so we were without our normal offense. But seymour does get the credit for it b/c they played a great game

  12. QUOTE(turbocab @ May 2 2007 - 01:23 PM) 826450159To me, playing dirty implies an intent to hurt or cheat. While Marvin does get quite a few fouls and has received a few yellows, his intent should never questioned.

Was Pete Rose a dirty player? (I know, wrong sport, but still a great example!) No, he was called Charlie Hustle and always played right on the edge. Marvin plays on the edge because he is competing in the middle against usually the most skilled player on the other team; in the spaces where the ball is most often (the middle); and the areas where successful teams always contest (defensive third) the hardest. Marvin will wear you out because he never stops competing. The match-up against Radcliffe last night was a classic example. Both players contested for ball. The referee let them play, only calling a foul when necessary. Both had a couple of knocks and had to be exhausted by the end of the game.

Well everyone has their own opinion on what a dirty player might be like. Like I said I am backing up R.U.R. on this one b/c I have played with Marvin for quite a while, and he does play dirty (as in hacking at the ankles, throwing elbows, ect..) I know he gives it his all when he is out on the field, and thats just his style of play. Once again I am a friend of Marvin, and this is not an attack on him.
