After a stellar victory that must be breath of fresh air for the boys in baby blue 44-7 against Seymour, do you think the Chargers can beat the wildcats in benton. I certainly am routing for the boys from Englewood. I think it may be a closer game than alot of people think but I think central pulls out the win 29-26.

Gonna have to stop the run.  Can they is the question??

Okay thank you! Yeah I definetly saw a game listed somewhere as 1916 so it must have been what you was referring too still a crazy amount of time to play! Especially constiently. Don't see them ever put this game to a halt, but I said same thing about mcminn vs mcminn central, just had become way to one sided

The biggest downfall for the MC vs. McMinn game is the fact that McMinn usually put a beating on the boys in blue.  Although there have been some good games in the past, it is just a tough one for the smaller school.  I have said it before, especially playing them first, it sets the tone for the season.  The kids work their tales off all summer, just to take a pounding.  Sometimes it turns into players not believing in their coaches.  Plus, having to hear all the other stuff year around is kinda crazy too.  Really it just, for the most part, turned into a beat down for the Chargers and a tune up for the Cherokees.  I am good with all the other sports playing, but football, depth becomes the issue.  I know their are many other thoughts on this subject, and I see both sides.  This is just my take.

I think Warren County would be lucky to get the old Tullahoma coach.  I was told he resigned because he and the principal did not see eye to eye and so after the team got back from winning a tournament in Florida he resigned.  For whatever it is worth, Warren County would be a tough job for any coach willing to take it.

This is what I keep hearing.  Good luck on the search.

Westview will get Simpson back from ACL as well as Evans (sophomore post player out with ACL) to add inside play. They have a freshman guard that scored 38 and 35 points in the TMSAA state tournament this year and was voted best player in district that’s pretty dang good. They also have a 8th grade post player that has the potential to be dominant. Still have Alexander and Sims returning as well as Trevathan. I think they will still be pretty competitive!

What school did she play for?

Like it don't like it. Doesn't really matter it's coming all that is to figure out is when. It's only a matter of time.

May 13, 2021 The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has approved a 35-second shot clock for high school basketball, starting with the 2022-23 season. The NFHS released a statement on Wednesday, making it clear that the use of a shot clock will not be a mandate.

If implemented, the governing body needs to be the one to fit the bill.  I am sick and tired of getting stuck with the bill.  Also, their needs to be an official who works the clock.  Don't have to pay them what a regular official might make, but something.  This should also be paid from the TSSAA.

Anyone that gets on here and bashes coaches needs stop and think about how much this stuff actually means to them.  Coach Cope had his team prepared tonight and shots just didn't fall.  Is that on him as a coach?  It's not on the players either.  Sometimes you just miss.

That was a game between two really good teams competing at a high level.  One made shots and one didn't.  It's a make or miss game and coaching is sometimes very over rated.  Not to mention Coffee played without one of their best shooters tonight.  Cleveland had kids step up...It's that simple. Congratulations Coffee County on an incredible season.

I understand what you are saying, but I would have forced action to an advantage, the inside.  They would have had no answer for #44 touching the ball at the block every series.

Cleveland hasn’t lost anyone to injury this season. But I agree, he’s done a pretty good job this season. Last night he was definitely at his best.

Coffee could'nt hit a thing from the perimeter las night.

We may not be able to beat Bradley, but man I love this team. They played their hearts out tonight.

That was a great win by Cleveland.  I never could uderstand why Coffee County never went to their strength.  Big girl would have touched the ball every possession close to the goal, not on the perimeter.  Warren County had a good showing against Bradley.

Yep.  Bartletts record is misleading unless you look at the teams they played.  They played an unbelievable schedule with some of the top teams in the country.  They seemed to have went out of their way to play the best.   I have been saying that they have been under ranked all year mostly because the AP vote is just dumb.    That Oakland score and Webb score really stood out to me in December.    The Arlington loss surprised me.  They are definitely very good but I am not sure there is a team that is way above everyone else (like Bearden last year) but Bartlett is probably the best team that most people don't know about.

I do want to say that  I think whoever makes it out of your sectional matchups is going to be the favorite.   Definitely going to earn it out of those matchups.   Only two teams come out of Bradley/Cleveland/Warren/Coffee/Blackman/Stewarts Creek/Oakland.   Wow.   Good luck coach.

Tough region and sub-state for sure.  Point is looking to see how good Coffee and Warren Co. are for me???

The way I see it AAAA girls is up for grabs this year, Bearden and Bradley have to be the favorites, but they are both beatable on the right night. Tbh I don’t think Coffee or Cleveland either one have a shot to win state I’m just a neutral observer.

    Bradley is pretty darn good!

I said it earlier this year Coffee’s coach/ad should have scheduled a tougher schedule especially on the road, because more than likely they will be traveling for substate in a hostile environment. This is the best team they have had in a long time so why not challenge them some to make them better and more prepared? So what if they lose more than 5 games on the year they would have been battle tested and the only game that matters now is the next one.

Will they not be playing in the Blackman Region for Sub State?

    Bradley by 45 (75-30)

    Cleveland by 20 (62-42)

    Warren County by 14 (52-38)

    Coffee County by 28 (68-40)

    Bradley, I agree

    Cleveland, ok

Warren, will beat WV by more than 14

Coffee should beat McMinn by more if they wanted

Well they need to schedule those games away because they can’t get a fair game at home. The refs seem to be wearing their same jersey.

I've heard this from others as well.  Seems to be a good statement, that they need to be battle tested, did they not get upset last year by a average McMinn girls team in region?

  14. 19 hours ago, Sammie said:

Yes as we all know the next round has been his undoing since he arrived at Coffee County.  I am shocked at how many girls teams in the state are .500 or worse and playing in championship or consolation games for their districts.  Is basketball just that bad throughout the stat?

I know that they would have to face a tough Bradley bunch if they make it to the region championship.  Who would they have to possibly face in the sub state?  Cleveland could possibly upset them in semi's as well.
