HUGE HUGE HIGE HUGE game for Lady Devils tonight as the host South Greene. A Win over South Greene would tie up the conference again with All of the top three(South Greene, Elizabethton, Unicoi) having two losses. No matter what the turn out should be of this game the seeding should be South Greene-1 Unicoi-2 Elizabethton-3 due do to the tie-breaker they drew at the start of the season. Unicoi still has one more conference game after tonight, Sullivan North at home Friday. This is also their Senior Night. GOOD LUCK LADIES.

Well I'm still pulling for Unicoi. I think this will be there to return to state even though they lost six seniors last year. They still have there "ace" pitcher, Jessica Mason, she will be one of only two seniors this year. I hear they also have an outstanding Freshman pitcher who lead her travel team to 2 world series wins this past summer. They also have 4 Juniors that should be starting for them including there Shortstop from last year and their left fielder, who will be catching this year. Even though there team is young and mainly Freshman, their starters are expeirenced from many years of travel ball.

In my opinion Coach Glenn Fisher is one of the most respected coaches around. He may not have state championships too show how good of a coach he is but take my word for it. He has a way with kids he knows how to teach and coach. I learned so much from that man and it wasn't neccessarily on the court. I know of a lot of people who will be heartbroken when he retires. I personally hope he never does. I can't say enough about him.

Sometimes you don't even have to use profanity to be asked to leave the game, you just have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was at a game at Chuckey-Doak this year where 3 Unicoi students were asked to leave during the girls game. They were sitting in the front row behind the Chuckey-Doak bench and water got poured onto them, probably not intentional but they did get wet. Well of course the students got upset and demanded an apology but NO profanity at all was used. Chuckey-Doak's coach heard the argument and began yelling at the Unicoi Students very loudly well a couple parents heard her yell and they began yelling at the students, let me remind you the game is still going on. They parents told the students they had to move out of their seats and of course being teenagers they wanted to know why they had too. well to make a long story short all three of the students were escourted out of the gym by an office. One of the students was one of the boys stat. and because of that and a conversation between Coach John English they were permitted to come back in after the girls game was over. The three students didnt sit in the front row to start anything with the players they were just sitting there talking, not really watching the game either. Those students don't come to the games to start stuff they come to watch basetball and keep stats. I have also been present at two Unicoi home games when both Elizabethton Student sections and Unicoi student sections have been penalized for just saying stinks. One of those games a player screamed Sh** after missing a shot and wasn't called on or anything but the student section was for saying stinks!?!? That to me doesn't seem right.

Unicoi did infact keep their streak alive.

Ali Gardner has improved significally this year. She is the only starter not a freshman. Her defense has always been good, her height and athleticism playing a large rool in that, but this year her fundamentals are much better and she seems to be using her head a lot more. Ali has been shooting very well also. Next year I think she will definatly step up and be one of te top players in the conference.

Unicoi can handle them. They are truely playing like a team now. Good Luck.

Unicoi's defense seems to be working fine seeing how they only have 2 losses. Besides when they played Hampton they just weren't making their shots but Unicoi def. played defense against Johnson County Friday Night.

Unicoi just demolished Johnson County. The Longhorns came out fighting but started to run down before the half. During the second quarter, however, the longhorns were dead and Erwin really ran away with the game. Most of the JV were in the game with 5 minutes left. The Devils really came to play tonight. Refs however were sleeping, both teams got a bunch of bad calls. The fans were totally into for both teams. Good Game Blue.

I doubt you would have beaten Unicoi by 20. It is a wonder you beat them at all. They Played horrible. Clearly the worst game Unicoi has played in a long time. Yes you won but I don't think you could won by 20.

Cameron Miller is the Junior point guard for Unicoi. One of the best athletes Unicoi has. He is a great leader even though the rest of the starters are seniors and a great athlete. He always leads the team in scoring and steals.

Jan. 4th at Unicoi and Feb. 1st at Johnson County.

Unicoi's Blue Nation isn't single A but have one of the most dedicated and loudest student section in the state. Home games are super loud but even when the devils are on the road they always bring part of the devil den with them by taking a pep bus to all of the games.

Unicoi beat Valley by 20 or so... They play CD Tuesday... should be a great game! Good luck Devils.

I'm looking for either an 18u or 16u travel team around upper east tennessee to play with for the remainder of the summer. I can play any position...except pitch. Unicoi is still looks strong. They lost 6 seniors last year but wil a very talented group of freshman coming incluiding ace pitcher Kara Woods they shouldn't have a problem replacing last years seniors even though they will be terribly missed. They won a tournment in morristown this weekend by beating some very good teams including the favorites form morristown and a hard throwing, fast team out of Knoxville. The lady devils sweep all 6 games with the closest game being won by 4 runs. They definatly blew the other teams away with there bats and pitching. Upcoming freshman pitched the last 3 games of he tournamnet and impressing everyone. senior Candace Meadows and Sophmore Emilee Lovette also cama away with wins. Senior Pitcher and Ace Jessica Mason is recovering from an injury and didn't not play this weekend but once the Lady Devils get her healthy and get all of the freshman on the team and have had a month of practice and conditioning the Devils will def. be a strong team when tournament play begins. They definately have one of the best pitching staffs this year with all of them pitching in high 50's and up and with all of them having a deadly change-up and most having at 3 other good pitches they will make games easy for the rest of the defense.

Will Unicoi County still win the conference title again or will someone else upset the ever-popular Lady Devils?

Unicoi County is losing six seniors, their catcher, Lauren Hopson, Pitcher, Leah Love, First baseman, Lynsey Canaday, Third baseman, Chelsea Stevenson, Right fielder, Katherine Harris and Center Fielder, Alicia Engle. They are all very talented players and all contrubited to strong season. They only have three starters coming but i don't think they will drop any next year. They have strong Freshman group coming up and quite a few players that didn't start this year that can fill the shoes of the seniors easily with a little practice of course.

Definately pulling for Stone the girls are good enough to win as long as the play hard everytime and don't overlook teams

Erwin knew coming into the game last night that they would have to come out fighting. They knew they couldn't take Pigeon Forge lightly so they had a hard practice Tuesday and really worked on the little things like catching those hard to get to balls. Covering the holes in the infield, bunt coverage, pop-ups. The things that can make or break the game. Eriwn NEVER gave up last night they just dug deeper and pulled out a bunt or a base hit or a play on the field. Jessica Pitched an amazing game and she never once got down on herself even after a homerun was hit to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th. Lauren pumped herself way up even after words were exchanged at homeplate after a play. Chelsea stay determined even after she missed an out at third and got the last key out by thinking quickly and smart going to second instead of third. The bench never shut up they did a good job of getting in Pigeon Forge's head. The devils really played as a team last night and if they keep this up there season will last another week. Good luck playing Gibbs Friday for a chance to go to State! Make us Proud. Let's take it a step farther than last year!

They will play again on Wednesday in Pidgeon Forge, not sure of the time though. If they win I believe they play at home on friday and if they lose I believe they have to travel again for substate. They will move on to State if they win Friday. Good luck Ladies, Make us Proud.
