  1. Greenfield has a solid club. Hopefully they can bounce back from this. their schedule gives them a good chance, with an open date then west carroll. but after half time this was one sided. greenfield only had 2 or 3 first downs the whole second half, and mistakes are part of high school football. I think alot of the turnovers were from fatique. dresden wore them down in the second half. its kinda funny that you never hear on these boards that fans from the team that wins ever says, well we won but we played dirty and should be ashamed. there were penalties, its high school and a rivalry, i did not see anything dirty. I surely hope the young man from greenfield recovers quickly. good luck the rest of the year.

  2. I was referring to Liberty's boys coach & Madison's girls coach. Dexter Williams is young but not as young as the two you have mentioned. Coach Patterson is a veteran coach that has taken 3 different programs to the state tournament. Both of the guys you have mentioned have only been coaching about 3 yrs and have had success based on the talent they had. I am not saying they are not capable but you build programs with experience!

My point was, the two programs you stated took different paths. Coach Williams had only a couple of years at middle school when he took over the Liberty program and it worked out well. He had no experience at the high school level when he started at Liberty. Madison went the other path with experience and it worked for the girls, but what about their boys and Liberty girls? I don't know if either should be chosen but using Liberty as an example would be exactly like taking on of these young men.

  3. I would be shocked if they tried to build a program with young coaches. That makes no sense at all. If someone gets the job based on "connections" that would really start a program off on the wrong foot. The new football coach may be an unknown but he is coming from one of the best football programs in the state. Anybody that was on P.A. Pratt's staff gets 2 thumbs up from me. You have to have experience to build a program from scratch. Vaughan & Lowery might turn out 2 be great coaches but neither are ready to build a program from the ground up. I agree about not bringing someone in short term for a quick fix that is why Mr. Rogers and whoever else needs to think long & hard about who they pick. One wrong hire could set a program back for years! They could look at schools like Madison Academic & Liberty to see how to start a girls and boys basketball program. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Liberty chose a young middle school coach(i.e. vaughan and lowery). It worked for them, why do you think either of these two could not do the job? The few times I have seen their teams they looked well coached and disciplined.

  4. cdt,

Maybe you can help me with this? I believe that UC loses thier two best players after this year...Ryne Simpson and BJ Marshall? Is that correct?

I mean, with Ryne Simpson gone, this UC team is not nearly as good. He's a man amongst men. And, if they lose BJ Marshall on top of that, then they will not be nearly as strong next year as they were this year, and they were down this year...for UC.

How many other seniors does UC have?

Just knowing how their players develop, I think they will be better. They lose 2 very good players in Simpson and Marshall, but are also playing a lot of young players. I just believe overall they will be better at 5 spots and maybe not as good at 2. To be playing at a level this year after losing the players they lost really says alot about how good those 2 are. I just don't see them dropping off, I think they will be better next year and really good the year after that.

What were some of the other scores from 14a last night. Union City/Lake Co. is the only one that I saw.

  5. Lake Co beat Dresden last night 54-45 so they have the #3 seed..Lake Co has won about 11 of their last 12 games and avenged all their earlier losses to Humboldt,Dresden and Gleason..I thought Bradford had only 1 loss in the district to Lake Co while Humboldt had 2 disrict losses..Humboldt lost to Bradford and Lake Co..So..if Bradford wins against Humboldt..Bradford will be the #1 seed and Humboldt 2nd..If Humboldt wins over Bradford..will be a tie for first and a coin toss !..Grrenfield...I haven't looked at the brackets but did the Greenfield win over Union City move them up over Union City and put Lake Co and Greenfield in opposite brackets..We had each other playing the last time we talked in all probability...but now I'm wondering if Lake Co will play Union City...Also hears on the radio that Labrica Ward was out until further notice!..Like maybe in the 1st game of the district tournament?..lol

I just looked at the standings and I believe Greenfield is 8-9 in the district and Union City is 9-8...So if Union City beats Lake Co..Union City will be the #5 seed and Greenfield 6th..Or if Union City loses to Lake Co and Greenfield loses to Dresden...If Greenfield beats Dresden and Lake Co beats Union City ,then Greenfield and Union City will tie and have a coin toss !

I don't know who has beaten who, but the tie breaking procedure is 1. Head to head 2. if a split, who has beaten a higher seeded team 3. coin flip

  6. Just so you do know, Korensky's parents are divorced. One lives in Rutherford, the other in Trenton.

Heard that Trenton wrote a letter to the tssaa trying to help him get elgible. There are some tough circumstances around the move and I hope he gets to play, if he is not already.

  7. So without any proof or even suspicion, you manage to cast aspersions about Westview athletes being involved in an alledged incident of vandalism that isn't reported until real vandalism occurs somewhere else? It makes perfect sense to me.{sarcasm off]

You can twist my quotes any way you want, I could care less. I don't know who did either acts of vandalism. I still stand by my quote which was, "I hope the Dresden or Westview athletes were not involved." They should know better and have more important things to think about. Don't try to place my sentences as sarcasm or acqusations as you have no idea what I am thinking. The vandalism acts at both schools are real and not implied, and at least, both parties should be caught and pay for what they have damaged.

  8. well dresden vandalized our practice field, they tore up a lot of stuff. they also spray painted our schools band bus? lol how stupid is that? but they have also (from /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> what i heard) vandalized our field house. We are not happy!!! Dresden better watch out cuz were comin hard!!!!!!!!!!! /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> [/size]

I know this shows no class at all. I hope that none of the athletes were involved. Just as I hope none of Westviews athletes were involved in vandalizing Dresden's field house and playing field on Wendsday night. I hope that the game is clean and without injury for both sides.

  9. There is going to be an adjustment period for everyone involved, players, headcoach, assts., and fans. With that being said, if the assistants are such bad coaches, you(deltafarce) should go offer to be a volunteer asst. I am sure they would love to have you expertise. With hard work and patience, all will work itself out in Dresden. Good luck to them and all the coaches and fans. It is a tough year, but even tougher for some players that have already played their last game for the Lions because of injury.
