  1. Dresden is mostly sophomores and juniors.
  2. I was hoping something would also change but football is the only thing that matters to the tssaa. There are more basketball schools than football but half as many classes. I think football should go back to one class only. Then winning a game in the playoffs would mean something. 1A basketball should be cut off at about 350
  3. hey galilee, do you think mitchell and maybe 2 other memphis A teams might be willing to come to nw tn to play an all a day like on a saturday?

    1. Galilee

      Galilee

      What are the dates?

  4. dresden wins 35-0. good luck the rest of the year to both teams.
  5. so far bruceton has fought hard against a mistake prone dresden team, but dresden has pulled ahead 28 to 0 early in the 4th. hope the player that got his knee hurt will be ok for the tigers.
  6. Greenfield has a solid club. Hopefully they can bounce back from this. their schedule gives them a good chance, with an open date then west carroll. but after half time this was one sided. greenfield only had 2 or 3 first downs the whole second half, and mistakes are part of high school football. I think alot of the turnovers were from fatique. dresden wore them down in the second half. its kinda funny that you never hear on these boards that fans from the team that wins ever says, well we won but we played dirty and should be ashamed. there were penalties, its high school and a rivalry, i did not see anything dirty. I surely hope the young man from greenfield recovers quickly. good luck the rest of the year.
  7. My point was, the two programs you stated took different paths. Coach Williams had only a couple of years at middle school when he took over the Liberty program and it worked out well. He had no experience at the high school level when he started at Liberty. Madison went the other path with experience and it worked for the girls, but what about their boys and Liberty girls? I don't know if either should be chosen but using Liberty as an example would be exactly like taking on of these young men.
  8. Liberty chose a young middle school coach(i.e. vaughan and lowery). It worked for them, why do you think either of these two could not do the job? The few times I have seen their teams they looked well coached and disciplined.
  9. He played middle school at dresden. Practiced the summer and then was put in state care. Wish him the best of luck, he deserves a break.
  10. Just knowing how their players develop, I think they will be better. They lose 2 very good players in Simpson and Marshall, but are also playing a lot of young players. I just believe overall they will be better at 5 spots and maybe not as good at 2. To be playing at a level this year after losing the players they lost really says alot about how good those 2 are. I just don't see them dropping off, I think they will be better next year and really good the year after that. What were some of the other scores from 14a last night. Union City/Lake Co. is the only one that I saw.
  11. A little problem with the future against Union City is that they are playing a bunch of Sophmores, so they will be very good for at least 2 more years. Who knows, maybe then just regular good.
  12. I don't know who has beaten who, but the tie breaking procedure is 1. Head to head 2. if a split, who has beaten a higher seeded team 3. coin flip
  13. Do most have their power now, and is Lake Co. playing tonight and back in school? Thoughts and prayers are still with all those in this terrible situation.
  14. Heard that Trenton wrote a letter to the tssaa trying to help him get elgible. There are some tough circumstances around the move and I hope he gets to play, if he is not already.
