  1. I apologize for it. I only say this because I have played against Station Camp several times and watched film on them and I've seen him dive plenty of times when there are no players around him. I might let one flop slide but when a player consistently does it... However, that was wrong of me, and I shouldn't have said anything.... I just hate to see any team fall victim to the dive.
  2. I believe the blonde-haired kid that you are referring to is named Eric Unger, and he is NOTORIOUS for that classless stunt. I remember pulling the referee aside during the tournament last year and pleading with him to please pay attention to the diving. If you happen to face them again, Livingston, that's my advice to your captains. Notify them before kick-off that diving may be an issue. Otherwise, the refs will not pay attention. (The refs last year had no problem with my request.) I'm not a big fan of singling out players for any reason, but diving is the most unsportsmanlike thing you can do on the field, and when I see the same player doing it again and again and again, it gets beyond irritating, to say the least.
  3. Yes, BGA is the defending Division II state champs, although that is about the extent of my knowledge on them. I attended a camp once where the current BGA coach was our coach for the week, and he is a very skilled coach, but as for the team itself, I can't really offer you any info on them.
  4. Station Camp 1, Livingston 1 This is just off the top of my head, but the two teams are always about dead even anyway. I think a better prediction would be to guess how many cards will be issued.
  5. Awww, what's soccer without a little tornadic weather? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  6. lol, u certainly have the right attitude about it. I assure you, though, it is SO much easier being overlooked and being the underdog come tournament time...
  7. It's a shame that only two can make it out of such a good district.
  8. Don't you mean Region 5, District 9?
  9. Champions.... you know, those teams that don't whine... There is nothing more irritating than a group of 11 whiners on the field that complain and complain about bad reffing or field conditions... Honestly, if your game relies on perfect reffing and perfect field conditions, you don't deserve to win in the first place. I understand that bad conditions make it harder, but the champions get it done as opposed to whining about it.
  10. Awesome. Well good luck to you guys in the tourney.
  11. The field may stink, the refs may stink, but champions overcome...
  12. Yeah, I've had quite a few arguments with other certain people on here that the final score of a game doesn't accurately depict how the game went a lot of times. It's a shame that a fight did break out and that it caused the teams to be uneven, but I'm sure poor reffing and a lack of control by the officials let the game get out of hand.
  13. I agree. Although I didn't quite believe it at first, Wilson Central has beaten a handful of quality teams to prove that their wins weren't just flukes. At some point, you have to stop saying "Hendersonville/Riverdale/Station Camp, etc. lost the game because they messed up" and start saying, "Wilson Central won the game because they earned it."
  14. Yeah, I'd agree that the teams have to be evenly matched because they split the two matches they played, and those type of games are always exciting to watch. No one takes any real joy in showing up to watch a lopsided game with the ball on one half of the field. End results like 14-0 (any Farragut fans?) are just unsatisfying.
  15. I really don't know much about any of these teams, except White House. Lenoir City is always tough, and CAK... well, sheesh, they're CAK. The other team, (I believe called Cumberland) I know absolutely nothing about. I do know that if WH plays with as much heart and aggression as they did against Portland the other night, then they should be able to compete. Although I don't expect any upsets or amazing feats, I've seen stranger results this season alone (anyone been paying attention to Hendersonville??) So, to be incredibly vague about it, I expect WH to gain the most experience-wise and CAK to win the entire tournament. Let's say.... CAK 4, WH 0 CAK3, LC 1 LC 2, WH 1 (Sorry, Cumberland. I don't know anything about you, so I'd prefer not to upset you with way off-the-mark estimates.)
  16. Yes, I was also told from one of the players that a fight broke out. It happens in competitive games and tournaments.
  17. Chill, folks, this is history and this argument is approaching pointless. All I was doing was mentioning my thoughts, my opinions on how region 4 does indeed compete with region 3 from the only viewpoint I have. Shoot them down if you want, I don't care, it's irrelevant to me. I was in that game, though, so I feel I have just as much a right as you to know how that game went, and had we been soundly beaten, perhaps by 4 or more goals scored in the first half, I would agree entirely with you that you dominated, and there was just nothing we could do about it. Believe me, I played in a few of those type of games. However, the fact of the matter is that for the majority of the game, the score was 1-0, which is not a dominating score by any means, and WH did have offensive opportunities, so it wasn't like CSAS was on the edge of our 18 yard box the whole game. I have utter confidence in saying that the game could have gone either way. I am interested in this term "boom ball" you keep using. You give us credit for using it as "effective as anybody can" but you're obviously using it to describe a lousy way of playing. I am sorry that we weren't blessed to be as "awesome" as your team, but it's better that way, and more rewarding when a lousy team like us can give one of the greats a run for their money. We disagree, and that's okay, but it's pointless to continue arguing over something we saw from two totally opposite ends of the field. Good luck to you guys on the rest of your season.
  18. You're positive you were there? Because surely any one that was there would not have said CSAS 'dominated' the game. If it was so one-sided, what was White House even doing with the ball near you? And, by the way, I was on the field, too.
  19. It's good, tho. No one likes to see the same thing over and over again. I'm glad some of these other teams are finally getting a chance to compete.
  20. Oh, sorry. Normally, I would have just assumed that, but after seeing Hendersonville lose two district games, I'm starting to believe anything.
  21. Good lord, District 9-AAA is gonna be up for grabs. I expect an unpredictable dog-fight come district tournament time.
  22. Congrats to White House. FCS seems much more down than last year, but the dirty play reminds me of the Portland-FCS district semi-final last year. That one ended rather bizarrely... So with Friendship obviously hovering near the bottom of the pack, who do you think the fourth district semi-final team will be (assuming WH, S.C., and Portland all make it to the semis.)
  23. Congrats, Smitty. I am looking forward to watching you guys play tomorrow if I can make it.
  24. You don't recall quite so well. It was headbutted away from the goalie's hands with minimal to no contact to the goalie. Refs are quick to protect the goalie, however, and they immediately stopped the play..... oh wait, no, they waited about 30 seconds after the ball went in the net.....
  25. I believe you are referring to Clarksville. Both teams posted a 1-0 win.
