Hope not but it sounds like the Trojans have maybe "THROWN IN THE TOWEL"..I know the playoffs are still in sight but come on....This had the promise of a once great season...Man, we need to get this straight..I lived through those years of being a "DOORMAT" don't want to see this program return to that again...

Mr. Milam, no offense..But when you have these many parents complaining about a coach?...What is the deal?...Kids giving coaches Ultimatums...Kids quitting ..Getting back on the team...Parents meeting with Coaches...Don't know Tony Butler from Adam..but he was DC last year and we never had this problem did we?...I live here and talk to LOTS of parents and people involved in the program....That is just what I hear..Players cussing a coach...Wanting to fight with a coach...So what is the problem..Like I said..It all goes back to Stowe..he can either get a grip on the coaches or players..It all falls back on him.. Somebody has to be in charge..

All I know is when Bowling came to Dyersburg the kids and the parents acted like idiots..Stowe is in town and "SAME SONG, DIFFERENT VERSE"..and what gets me is "HOW MANY OF THESE PARENTS WHO ARE CONFRONTING THE COACHES ACTUALLY PLAYED ANY TYPE OF SPORTS IN HIGH SCHOOL"?.. I don't Coach Counce will ever return..but they need somebody "WHO WILL RUN THE PROGRAM WITH NO INTERFERENCE FROM THE PARENTS AND TAKES NO LIP OFF THE PLAYERS".. LOL..Tim Thompson isn't doing anything these days..since he got booted from the Ridgeway job for having ILLEGAL players in spring practice...Get him up here..He'll put some DISCIPLINE in the program. and we would be entertaining to watch..He won state titles at Melrose and had Fayette-Ware in the playoffs...Only thing they might call us the Dyer County of Football...Because he would have kids from Ripley to South Fulton playing for us... ( THIS IS A JOKE ABOUT THOMPSON FOR THOSE WHO DON'T GET IT".. First of all you are probably the worst high school football fan I have ever seen. You my friend are the great "In the Stands" Coach that everyone dreads hearing from. Secondly, I think you may have somewhat of a freaky obsession with the great "Coach Counce". You rag on Coach Stowe and his record, Im quite certain that Stowe Beat your beloved Counce on numerous occasions. Coach Counce is GONE and Coach Stowe is running the ship. Your exactly right when you say Coach Stowe is a fine man , in fact he is one the the greatest guys I know as a coach and as a person. He cares about his program, winning, the community, and most of all His Kids That He Coaches. It sounds like to me its the assistant coaches that are causing problems within the program, and I will have to say I saw that coming back in the spring when I myself visited during Spring Practice. The biggest thing people in Dyersburg need to do is rally behind Coach Stowe and their team, especially in a big game like this week . Yea so what you lost a couple of games, NO ONE goes undefeated EVERY YEAR!!! Its all about making the playoffs and running the table in High School Football. Quite talking smack and rally behind your team!! STOWE IS LETTING THE INMATES RUN THE ASYLUM...PLAIN AND SIMPLE....If the assistant coaches are getting out of line..it is Stowe's job to reign them in...If players are getting out of line.."it is Stowe's job to reign them in".....Go back and look at the records...Stowe was 5-9 against Dyersburg with FAR SUPERIOR TALENT... Coach Counce has left the building as far as I am concerned....And what is the kicker here is that "STOWE" was hired for DISCIPLINE....The Dyersburg powers that be wanted somebody who was STRONG in the discipline department...Looks like we screwed the pooch on that one... Freaking kids and parents and asst. coaches acting like idiots...IT ALL GOES BACK TO THE TOP...You are gonna have to have somebody who will tell this bunch where to get off..or take their kid and don't come back....Counce and Bert Snow are gone..THE SAME STAFF IS IN PLACE...it all falls back on Stowe...He better get tough or this bunch is gonna eat him alive... I will always be a Trojan fan and alumni..but when these parents and players start causing a scene..it is kind of hard to watch...Never knew of two coaches we had in the modern day era who have taken more crap than Bowling and Stowe...My suggestion would be to whomever coaches this team.."LAY OFF"..but it ain't gonna happen...Better be REAL THICK SKINNED OR WALK SOFTLY AND CARRY A BIG STICK...one or the other..or this program could be in trouble..Looks like it might already be..

With all due respect, you sound like it is a sin to question a coach. High school football teams are not absolute dictatorships. If coaches screw up, they should be held accountable. So what are these parents complaining about? I've only heard complaints about one guy -- Butler. For example, recently there was some pushing and shoving on the sideline between players, and it was because of what Butler said to them immediately proceeding the incident. Now, when my boy gets to high school and plays a sport, I'm not going to question coaches over his role or practice conditions -- I've been on enough teams where I worked my butt off only to sit on the bench -- but if someone like Butler treats my son the way he reportedly treats the Dyersburg football players, then we will definitely have some words. Outside of the The Counces and Bert Snow don't we have the SAME COACHING STAFF as last year?..Bottom line it ALL STARTS AT THE TOP...Getting players to play, motivating them, discipline, IT ALL STARTS WITH THE HEAD COACH...That's where you lay the blame...When you have kids getting in coaches faces...Parents coming to the locker room..."PLAYERS GIVING COACHES ULTIMATUMS"..then "YOU HAVE THE TAIL WAGGING THE DOG"...Not saying ALL COACHES ARE RIGHT...but When Counce was here..Nobody questioned anything..We changed coaches twice and parents and players alike are about to mutiny..."That all goes back to the head man"...

It was a great game...Crockett scored first when they completed a LONG PASS deep down in trojan territory..a few plays later they scored..Dyersburg scored when Xavier" Snook" Taylor broke one like he had been shot out of a cannon...7-7....Crockett returned a kickoff into Dyersburg territory..and scored....Austin Lyons scored before halftime for Dyersburg and it was locked 14-14.. Crockett County had Dyersburg backed up Deep in their own territory when "SnooK' Taylor broke one and I believe if he had cut back to the LEFT he would have scored....but was caught deep in Crockett County territory...Dyersburg had it inside the five I believe and it was 4th and 1...Crockett held and drove down the field where they got into Trojan territory where they went for it on 4th and 1...Dyersburg held.. The two teams see-sawed back and forth in the fourth quarter and I thought we were going into OT like last year...When Bass the running back..ran that play..don't know if you would call it a mis-direction or whatever but they had run it a lot on third down...Dyersburg didn't stop it this time and he went about 55 yards before being knocked out on the 1...1:18 on the clock when he did this..Dyersburg got the ball but threw an INT...Got he ball back again and on about the 46...Brown threw a hail mary in the end zone that was picked off... Neither team had nothing to be ashamed about...but played well and it was a great game IMO..I thought we were going to OT like last year...Congratulations to the Cavaliers for a hard fought victory.. I am sure Dyersburg will see them again...

What did "SNOOK TAYLOR" do?..and who else showed up big?..Seems like the loss to Westview got us back on track...What's the word Trojanz1?

No Milan and Westview will count as REGION games but both will jump back to 2A when the playoffs start..or at least I think they do..VERY CONFUSING>..

Stowe and Renshaw go WAY BACK...they graduated together from Lexington High School and both played under Stowe's dad..Jim Stowe..who is in the TSSAA Hall of Fame...they coached together at Haywood County...I can DEFINITELY see it happening...

I believe was the score. "Snook" Taylor had over 100 yards and 2 tds in the first half..Anybody heard anything else?

Hey, I am a Trojan Fan, alumni and wore the Black and Gold..had to sit over there with the "better half" because her son went went to DCHS....Have you seen Dyer County schedule?.. @ Dyersburg South Side @Northside @Crockett County Munford Bolivar Central Hardin County @Huntingdon Trezvant @Brighton Show me TWO WINS they are guaranteed in this schedule.... I agree Dyersburg CAN"T stop the pass for squat...Don't know about Grady Andrews when he was with Counce but in his last game as DC...DL beat us 42-10..never punted and never threw a pass...but against the spread whether it was Bowling, Counce last year ( Bolivar, Dyer County and Memphis Mitchell lit us up)...and this year with Stowe..no way we can stop the pass.. But Dyer County is a young team..You start that many sophmores and freshmen, you gotta hand it to them if they stay together...they will be PRETTY good in a year or two...

The Southside Coaching staff was sitting RIGHT in front of me at the game between Dyersburg and Dyer County and they were taking PLENTY OF NOTES...Don't know if that will help them..Dyer County is gonna, throw, throw and throw some more..Dylan Dye was 38 of 59 for 370 yards and he is just a sophmore..There WHOLE offensive is nothing but sophmores and freshman with the exception of Kyle King.. Young team but they have a LOT OF HEART...

They can't defend the spread..Sorry..Dyer County ran one play for a TD..then had it call back..I told somebody..Watch they will RUN IT AGAIN..and they did...and they scored a TD..They couldn't defend against Bolivar, Dyer County or Memphis Mitchell..Teams that have always had success throwing the ball against Dyersburg no matter what...or who the coach was...And yes we held DC to negative yards rushing but when you throw in the yardage lost on sacks..plus how many did they even try to run the ball?.. If you got the ATHLETES...looks like it is better to "find a number" and cover him...When it was 3rd and long..It was 1st down...Glad we won the game though, Looks like Stowe has a horse in Taylor and is gonna ride him this year...Problem is...Teams are pretty soon put 8 in the box and make Brown beat them..It will be interesting..

I agree with you purpleandgoldfan, Covington has the same problem they always have, no pass defense. After watching the game again I did see something positive, the O line looked very good. The kicker had four attempts, in reality he made three of the four. The first kick was good, don't know what the refs were looking at. This was his first time kicking in a game. I think he will be fine the rest of the season. You are right the second half Frasier did have 7/8 mem in the box. Kudos for Frasier coaching staff. Memphis schools sometimes get a bad rap for not making adjustments. Covington has a lot of room for improvement but they are in much better shape this year. I just hope they keep improving week to week. Then it should be #### for tat as Dyersburg has NO PASS DEFENSE EITHER..."Snook" Taylor had 250 yds and 5 tds against DC...but the defense gave up close to 350 yds passing by Dylan Dye.....

We've had 3 different head coaches in 3 years and still can't stop a passing attack...Wonder how many yards Dye threw for last night?...had them in those 3rd and long and 4th and longs...and BINGO ..1st down!..Man, they need to get that corrected...I saw some of those kid who were starting for NORTHVIEW last year..starting last night....Don't know if we play another team that throws the ball that much..but man..DC made it look awful easy at times...

Dyersburg's secondary/pass defense is AWFUL..It was bad last year..We changed head coaches and it is STILL BAD...Thought I was watching a "John Chavis" defense on those 3rd and longs....Whatever happened to "manning up" on a receiver....This soft zone was bad....While I am a Trojan through and through...Teams that are gonna beat up on DC better do it now...I looked and they had 4 sophmore and 1 true freshman on the offensive line, the quarterback was a sophmore, the Medford kid is a sophmore, the Wilson kid is a freshman,,,NOTHING BUT SOPHMORES and freshman...Dyersburg on the other had didn't look too bad ...No fumbles that I can recall..."Snook" Taylor if he stays healthy will break a LOT of single season records at Dyersburg...Don't know that has has the "wiggle" that Tyler Caldwell had to make a defender miss. but man, in a footrace I believe he is as fast as Tyler...The line played good..Brown played OK...Kinda what I thought I would see from a Bart Stowe coached team..."Just line up and try to stop us"...Nothing fancy...but BOY does that secondary/pass defense need working on...and outside of Justin Whitfield isn't that the same bunch that played LAST YEAR?....As John W. Tucker always said..."The best pass defense is a "PASS RUSH"...Hopefully we get that corrected sometimes soon..

Dyersburg returns much of it's offensive line...#5 "Snook" Taylor is back after 1700 yards and a single season 28 TDS...Trevor Caldwell, Tyler Lyons, a few more under classmen look good running the ball. If we can "TIGHTEN" up that secondary we should be alright...DC on the other hand has great talent at the skill positions but is hurting in the trenches..and that is where games are usually won and lost..AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE...Too much experience on the offensive line and too much "Snook" Taylor IMO.. GO TROJANS!

Ran into "TYLER CALDWELL" and his family today at the Mall in Jackson..Shame that kid isn't playing somewhere....He really had the wheels...Talked to his dad though and he said the running game with "Snook and Trevor" and a couple of other kids was "STRAIGHT"!...I know Tyler Lyons is running fullback..who else is in the backfield?..Is Travis O"Neal back there?.. And BTW saw my favorite Trojan going back to college today to play football..."Trey Vernon"...Trey is a fine young man and a good football player..Playing at a christian school over around Springfield, Missouri...

The Washington kid from Jackson is just a Junior..he already is the talk of the recruiting boards...McFerrin and Shonte Sims from Henry County will be D-1 players...Avery Williamson and Jabronski Gilbert are D-1 prospects as well as Christian Coleman who is just a junior...Don't know about anybody else though..
