Let me second that. Lincoln County's four losses have come to the #4 and #5 ranked teams in Florida, Beech, and Columbia. They have had double digit hit totals in all losses except Beech. They do have a few spots in the order that have not come through in clutch times. They are playing fine, playing hard, just don't have any shut down pitching. Baseball dropped a little in priority last night. Gaskill, their shortstop, was the tying run in the bottom of the seventh after an RBI double. He went to third on a pitch in the dirt, slid headfirst, the ball rolled into the corner, and he couldn't move. He laid on the ground for about 15 minutes unable to move or feel anything. His head jammed into the third baseman's thigh. Apparently an old fashioned "stinger". Doctors say his neck is sprained and he will likely miss some time. Let me again echo that Lincoln County will be fine, it is early, and the best is yet to come.
