I like the confidence but you might be singing a different tune this time next year in AAA and i would not be surprised if ozmen bolts too. and who cares if they won a travel state championship cause Im sure not all of them go to dyer county.. before the last couple of years Dyer county was not very good so until you are a lexington, usj, jcs, team that is proven in west tn for more than a couple of years shut up.... I think its hilarious how good Dyer County fans think they are when their enrollment is 3-4 hundred more students than most in the district in a weak district... I hope dyersburg puts yall back down to earth

I think that ALL THAT BIG MONEY that supposedly was paid to COACH Counce and Counce jr. was like a lot of other things that people hear...EXAGGERATED....Who knows what they were paid?...Only the administration and them...Who knows who we land?...One thing HE BETTER BE A DISCIPLINARIAN...That is one thing from Coach Counce that has RUBBED off on the Dyerburg bunch...Gotta be STRONG in the discipline department...

You & I have talked about this (discipline) re: another school too I believe. I agree that the "Counce Discipline" no matter where either go is a BIG factor in the success that they have had wherever they've been. That other school we've talked about NEEDS some DISCIPLINE in a BIG way. If Counce "Senior" does stay retired, he'll be another one of the "Old School" coaches of days gone by. Too bad that it has come to having to handle high school athletes with "kid gloves". Makes for a much less unified front with too much centered on individual athletes practicin' when they want to & playin under the "Friday Night Lights" ! Kinda got the "cart before the horse" in a lot of places it seems these days !........... AHH For the "Good ol Days" ! Re: Counce there was NEVER any doubt who ran the SHOW ! For that ...... My "Hat's off to him" !!!!! Hope all the best for a Great hire for you Trojan Faithful. STABILITY from this point is gonna be BIG though ! Talked to A COUPLE of the HEAD HONCHOS at DHS...Nobody has been hired...They are STILL LOOKING...and there are a COUPLE of BIG NAMES that will shock some people...Don't know if they are interviewing to BOOST their salary where they are at...But some BIG names on the list at DHS...I was floored to be honest...

Just want adamsmom, Choctaw73 and all the other DC fans, that you can no longer doubt the Dyersburg fan support. We we hoping for a DC win and a rematch at our place in 2nd round next week. As the Sheffield-DHS scores were announced throughout the game, there was cheering when DC led whcih was most of the 2nd half, even cries of "C'mon, Choctaws!" We wanted a rematch, an overflow crowd and no trip to Memphis for us next week. At one point tonight, all 4 Region 7 3-A teams led.

 

Congratulations to Dyer County on a hard fought season with many injuries.

Never doubted those like yourself who's hearts are in the right place ! We do ALL live in the same county & should support one another save for those few EXCITING occasions when we meet on the respective fields Or courts of competition ! Keep your heads up Choctaws ! To the Seniors though it didn't shape up as you dreamed, the best lessons learned in high school sports aren't the statistics, but the memories & lessons that you may not even realize you have learned yet ! Might not make ANY sense to you now, but ask anyone who played throughout High School some ten or twenty years removed OR just wait ! You'll agree somewhere down the line !

I have heard the job IS "Chucky's" until he says no from reliable sources ! They heard & knew about it way before ESPN even mentioned the remote possibility. Mixed opinions on ESPN, BUT a chosen few are saying it is a distinct possibility ! Come on home to Tennessee Chucky !!! As i hear it there are 5 million reasons for him to come $$$$$! Plus he was a grad assistant & met his wife (a cheerleader @ UT) while there .......... property there ("exclusive digs").......... wifes family is there ! One board posted a conversation with Chucky's mother inlaw tonight & undertones indicated a strong possibility (depending on how you read into it ! ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS "CHUCKY" ON THE HILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His background is a defensive coordinator. I want an offensive guy and keep Chavis, which they probably won't do.

Actually is will be determined by how well DC throws and catches on those intermediate routes. DC seems to run those very well. They probably won't be real effective on the deep ball and the flat doesn't look too promising based on what I know about the scouting report I have from Memphis area contacts that should know what they are talking about. But those seam routes and crossing routes cause anybody trouble.

I would beg to differ there "Wave". Everything that you mentioned IS a matter of FOCUS......... HEART (after a loss to D'burg & Crockett)............ and ATTITUDE (after one player apparently quitting & other issues). Granted making plays wins football games, BUT plays are not made if your HEART ain't right. This Choctaw team has had issues ranging from injuries to incidents (NO I'm NOT making any excuses). These are things that happen. The QUESTION is how do you RESPOND !!!!!!! So I stand on the fact that this is a "GUT CHECK" ........... HOW MUCH HEART DO THE CHOC'S HAVE ......... AND HOW BIG IS THEIR WANT TO !!!!!!!!!!!! All the above make the difference in the very things you mentioned. ALL have a profound effect on execution which results in the "X's & O's" that you so analytically revealed. Either you HAVE some knowledge of the game or you watch a bunch of ESPN (no dis intended). I can tell you without doubt that it WILL BE the INTANGIBLES that lead to the very points that you made in your post. The Choctaws are in for a real "gutcheck" & test of HEART. No excuses will make a hill of beans difference. But make no mistake, execution of the "throws & catches........... intermediate routes, etc" will be a DIRECT result of what kind of HEART, FOCUS & DETERMINATION that the Choctaws can "DIG DOWN" & FIND ! Since it is already Wednesday it's late to say "practice like you want to play", BUT I STILL SAY FOCUS, HEART, ATTITUDE & DETERMINATION are the difference in this game & that is up to the CHOCTAWS !!!!!!!!!!

Well now ......... maybe it is hard for you to "buy the GO TROJAN" thing coming from DC. But .......... I have been a Choctaw player, parent & supporter for .......... well many years /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ! As of this year (for the first time in many years) ! I don't have a niece, nephew, son or daughter playing some sport @ DCHS. I do have kids of MANY friends that play there & played with my son. Do I support them ? ...... YOU BET ! I was raised in Newbern when Dyer County High School was "Newbern High School". (Remember when they changed it to DCHS, went to high school there & played football there). But to the best of my recollection, both Newbern AND Dyersburg are in Dyer County. Dyer County being my home then, why would I NOT be for a school (Dyersburg) over a Covington, Trezevant or any other school located in a place where I don't call home ? I know kids that are "Trojans"........... know their Moms & Dads. Now WHY on earth would I be pulling for a team where I know not a single player instead of Dyersburg. Beyond that it becomes a "Region 7 3A" thing........ I pull for whoever goes deepest from our region, whether it be Dyersburg, Crockett, Haywood OR DCHS !!!! Seem like maybe it just might be YOU who cannot bring yourself to support the other tem when they are not playing each other !!!!!

Never a one hit wonder here...Everytime one of my boys take the field, they know their momma is in the stands. Got really miffed at the DC game though b/c one of our own asked me to sit down. I told her to STAND UP and shut up. Just don't understand it.
