Steppin' it up to 3A won't be THE reason if Coach P.O. DOES goes anywhere ! (Gotta agree DC on that one) I hoped against hope that he'd (Coach Ozment) stay til mine graduated ....... whew ! MADE IT ! Even though he's playing football @ the next level (no baseball too) I'm glad he had his years with P.O. ! As for the "before the last couple years" comment ........... well........... you don't go from "zero to hero" you GOTTA have a FIRST couple of years !

You & I have talked about this (discipline) re: another school too I believe. I agree that the "Counce Discipline" no matter where either go is a BIG factor in the success that they have had wherever they've been. That other school we've talked about NEEDS some DISCIPLINE in a BIG way. If Counce "Senior" does stay retired, he'll be another one of the "Old School" coaches of days gone by. Too bad that it has come to having to handle high school athletes with "kid gloves". Makes for a much less unified front with too much centered on individual athletes practicin' when they want to & playin under the "Friday Night Lights" ! Kinda got the "cart before the horse" in a lot of places it seems these days !........... AHH For the "Good ol Days" ! Re: Counce there was NEVER any doubt who ran the SHOW ! For that ...... My "Hat's off to him" !!!!! Hope all the best for a Great hire for you Trojan Faithful. STABILITY from this point is gonna be BIG though ! So PATIENCE...........make a hire that's good fit & STAND BEHIND THAT DECISION ! Kinda been "lurkin' around" between here & lambuthfootball.com (where Trojans & Choctaws play together !!!! now THAT'S A HOOT) This will be a BIG weekend for me ! YES ......... I am pullin' for you TROJANS !!!!!!! AND LU is in the playoffs as well ! Former Trojan Rashad Taylor has been playin' some awesome "D" over at Lambuth, Beau is out with an MCL I believe (played often & well prior to the injury) & a Choctaw that I know pretty well has been bangin' heads as well !!!!!!!! But as for the TROJANS this Friday night ......... the TROJANS are representin' the place I call HOME !!! (Greater Dyersburg / Dyer County) !!! Never doubted those like yourself who's hearts are in the right place ! We do ALL live in the same county & should support one another save for those few EXCITING occasions when we meet on the respective fields Or courts of competition ! Keep your heads up Choctaws ! To the Seniors though it didn't shape up as you dreamed, the best lessons learned in high school sports aren't the statistics, but the memories & lessons that you may not even realize you have learned yet ! Might not make ANY sense to you now, but ask anyone who played throughout High School some ten or twenty years removed OR just wait ! You'll agree somewhere down the line !

I have heard the job IS "Chucky's" until he says no from reliable sources ! They heard & knew about it way before ESPN even mentioned the remote possibility. Mixed opinions on ESPN, BUT a chosen few are saying it is a distinct possibility ! Come on home to Tennessee Chucky !!! As i hear it there are 5 million reasons for him to come $$$$$! Plus he was a grad assistant & met his wife (a cheerleader @ UT) while there .......... property there ("exclusive digs").......... wifes family is there ! One board posted a conversation with Chucky's mother inlaw tonight & undertones indicated a strong possibility (depending on how you read into it ! ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS "CHUCKY" ON THE HILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would beg to differ there "Wave". Everything that you mentioned IS a matter of FOCUS......... HEART (after a loss to D'burg & Crockett)............ and ATTITUDE (after one player apparently quitting & other issues). Granted making plays wins football games, BUT plays are not made if your HEART ain't right. This Choctaw team has had issues ranging from injuries to incidents (NO I'm NOT making any excuses). These are things that happen. The QUESTION is how do you RESPOND !!!!!!! So I stand on the fact that this is a "GUT CHECK" ........... HOW MUCH HEART DO THE CHOC'S HAVE ......... AND HOW BIG IS THEIR WANT TO !!!!!!!!!!!! All the above make the difference in the very things you mentioned. ALL have a profound effect on execution which results in the "X's & O's" that you so analytically revealed. Either you HAVE some knowledge of the game or you watch a bunch of ESPN (no dis intended). I can tell you without doubt that it WILL BE the INTANGIBLES that lead to the very points that you made in your post. The Choctaws are in for a real "gutcheck" & test of HEART. No excuses will make a hill of beans difference. But make no mistake, execution of the "throws & catches........... intermediate routes, etc" will be a DIRECT result of what kind of HEART, FOCUS & DETERMINATION that the Choctaws can "DIG DOWN" & FIND ! Since it is already Wednesday it's late to say "practice like you want to play", BUT I STILL SAY FOCUS, HEART, ATTITUDE & DETERMINATION are the difference in this game & that is up to the CHOCTAWS !!!!!!!!!! GOOOO CHOCTAWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one ALL BOILS DOWN TO HEART !!! Inuries ???......... DON"T MATTER !!!! Played with 'em all season long !!! Players missing for other reasons ???? ........ DON"T MATTER !!!!!!!!! Played without 'em part of the season anyhow (see injuries above) !!!!!!! This game is all about PRIDE ......... ATTITUDE ........... AND HEART !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The season past is NOTHING !!!!!!!!! Well now ......... maybe it is hard for you to "buy the GO TROJAN" thing coming from DC. But .......... I have been a Choctaw player, parent & supporter for .......... well many years /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ! As of this year (for the first time in many years) ! I don't have a niece, nephew, son or daughter playing some sport @ DCHS. I do have kids of MANY friends that play there & played with my son. Do I support them ? ...... YOU BET ! I was raised in Newbern when Dyer County High School was "Newbern High School". (Remember when they changed it to DCHS, went to high school there & played football there). But to the best of my recollection, both Newbern AND Dyersburg are in Dyer County. Dyer County being my home then, why would I NOT be for a school (Dyersburg) over a Covington, Trezevant or any other school located in a place where I don't call home ? I know kids that are "Trojans"........... know their Moms & Dads. Now WHY on earth would I be pulling for a team where I know not a single player instead of Dyersburg. Beyond that it becomes a "Region 7 3A" thing........ I pull for whoever goes deepest from our region, whether it be Dyersburg, Crockett, Haywood OR DCHS !!!! Seem like maybe it just might be YOU who cannot bring yourself to support the other tem when they are not playing each other !!!!! GOOO CHOCTAWS GOOO TROJANS

IF D.C. will take the momentum from the "RIVALRY GAME" last Friday & play like they did against D'burg (much better than many expected) this game should be a "DOGFIGHT" from "Can to Can't" ! Focus & play like you KNOW you can Choctaws!!!!!!!!!!! GOOO CHOCTAWS !!!!!!!!!

Kudos to you ! I put a lot of "stock" in what my pal "StevieRayVol" has to say, on here, on the phone & in person (when I have the pleasure). His quote "felt like I was in church" ........... COME ON !!! THAT WAS THE RIVALRY GAME !!!!!!!!!!! Those that asked you to sit down & those that make an appearance for a social event OWE THE KIDS & "COACHES COUNCE" more than that ! No room to question "Choctaw Faithful" Loyalty when the support in your own back yard is only from parents & a select few !!!!!!!!!!!!
