  1. something I looked up on TSSAA's website, correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I saw, there AAA has existed for 37 years. 27 championships have gone to Memphis or schools in Shelby County. thats pretty impressive. speaks for itself. I'm thankful that Dyer County caught the break it did, because it isn't easy to get out of West TN when you have to face deep Memphis teams in Region/Substate. good year for Memphis/West TN basketball!
  2. hoping that our boys can pull it out tomorrow! looking for a strong game back and forth, this one won't disappoint. Mccord is long overdue for this, I guarantee his thoughts immediately went to preparing for Southwind as he was walking off the court today.
  3. great state tournament from what I've been able to listen to/watch online. Hubbs was fun to watch today. looking forward to seeing Dyer County & Southwind battle it out tomorrow, not looking forward to the drive up in the morning.
  4. Yes, its been a very long time since I've appeared on these forums. nice to see everyone, I figure there is no better time than now to log back in than after my alma mater's trip to the AAA Semifinals. Dyer County and Siegel play Friday morning at 11:45. I've heard a lot of good about Siegel, from listening to today's game, they seem to be comfortable in the Murphy Center. Dyer County has to pick it up scoring wise, I don't remember them ever scoring on 40 points in a game. perhaps they will be over the nervousness that comes with that first game in the Murphy Center. Who wins this one and why?
  5. couldnt be more excited for this one. too bad I have to sit all by myself for the Grizzlies Game. anyone thats been to one of these in the past, will fans be allowed to leave in between games/move down lower for the high school games?
  6. you know what sucks? out of the Top 4 & #6, only 2 of them will go to the State Tournament. good teams, but West TN only gets 2 spots in Murfreesboro. sure is nice to be at #2 in AAA though, after only being up there a year and a half.
  7. http://www.nba.com/grizzlies/news/grizzlies_to_honor_mays_reed_wilkens-101221.html Southwind/Central Game is at 3:30.
  8. http://www.nba.com/grizzlies/news/grizzlies_to_honor_mays_reed_wilkens-101221.html Southwind-Central game is at 3:30, Dyer County game should be sometime after that?
  9. hope I get a chance to go to this one. if you get the cheap seats for the Grizzlies game will you be able to move down for this & the Central/Southwind Game?
  10. Believe it or not, Im coming out of the wood work for this one. Its been almost a year since Ive been anywhere near this site, shortly after I finished out my senior year at Dyer County. Life has been very busy, as I now attend college in Jackson and work as well. Hopefully within the next few weeks I will be able to attend a Dyer County game and see this years team, because as I read on this board, I am missing out on a lot. As nice as Rankings are, (believe me, Top 100 Nationally would be great), isn't a priority at Dyer County. I remember my (junior?) year when we climbed our way up the TN AP Top 10, & eventually got the #1 spot. As nice and as cool as that was, and as much as everyone tried to play it up, Mccord was blatant about how it was nice to get to that point, but it didn't mean squat when it came to getting to Murfreesboro and competing for the Gold Ball. Mccord wouldnt mind the 'national recognition' as well, but he would much rather prepare his team to get to the Murphy Center and be playing in and to win the championship game. I do agree with you when it comes to scheduling some tougher Tournaments, etc. It does indeed assist in strengthening the team as a whole by playing tougher competition. I believe that Dyer County will stick with the Martin Lions Club tournament for a while, because it provides local fans an opportunity to see their team, as well as boosts ticket sales to the tournament. Hope to see you at some games later on this season!
  11. great game. its a shame we had to lose, but thats how it goes sometimes. depth & experience paid off for ws. jackson is on a whole nother level than most, he should do great at memphis. idk exactly what happened with the foul situation, as the crowd made themselves known during that incident. with the experience gained this season, our guys should come back strong as the bar is raised. good luck to ws at state!
  12. im lovin the hype building up on this thread for this game. hopefully it lives up to all that. monday couldnt get here soon enough! will be a rockin gym, packed. id get there as soon as they let people in the doors. i honestly doubt they will turn people away. as packed as it has been during the previous substate games we have hosted, there is much room for standing room only.
  13. i wish. the station that follows us doesnt see it fit to stream over the internet.
  14. hour and a half straight up 51. tickets arent hard to get, very large gym, top-feeder, and they usually dont have a problem with standing room only around the top of the gym. ws should be selling tickets monday morning, but id get there as early as possible to have a seat at all. bigger game than both BTW substate games combined, so the gym is guaranteed to be rockin.
