Were you at this game? I was. The score board postings weren't anymore wrong than any other game. What does that have to do with an ump keeping correct pitch count anyway? This ump simply had no clue. Your "Trust Me, He got it wrong but he got it right" post just seems a little lame. Pity the poor score board keeper. So that was the problem. If you actually watched this event unfold on the field and can be satisfied with your explanation, that's just sad. Whenever an Ump's mistakes affect a games outcome like today, those situations simply beg a resolution more platable than "He missed it but he fixed it".
Explain to me how that that call affected the outcome of the game. Are you saying that the 2 strike at bat should have remained an out even though they determined they were incorrect? Because the fact remains that the correct count was 2 strikes rather than 3. If the Marion pitcher throws a strike on the next pitch he may get out of the inning anyway. To be honest, the Marion coach should be the one taking the heat for that 4 run inning and here is why:
After the ball/strike controversy and the subsequent walk of that hitter, Goodpasture had runners on first and second with two outs. What purpose is served by having a firstbaseman with, to be kind here, extremely limited range hold that runner on? The slow roller that the 9 hitter squeezed through for the first of those 4 runs would have most likely been right at him for an inning ending groundout had he been where he should have been in that situation.

I agree they both are out of balance. According to the TBCA rankings released yesterday, #1, #2 and #3 in AA are in the same bracket and in AAA you have the #2 and #3 matched up in a first round game. According to an article I read about Oakland advancing, it said they were slotted with a "blind draw". I guess the NCAA selection Committee has been doing it wrong all these years by seeding the basketball tournament. They should have just been drawing them out of a hat.
I've seen a lot of people talk about how great the AA Championship game was last year between USJ and Goodpasture. Thanks to the clowns at the TSSAA, there can not be a rematch for the title.
Once again, the TSSAA proves they are run by a bunch of morons.

he doesnt care where he goes..he is just a sophmore and it is a goal of his i told him to work hard and be the best high school player you can be and let the rest work itself out...i will do whatever i can to help him and support him and he is not cocky enough to think he is D1 espcially as just a sophmore
If he is just a Sophomore then you need to go to the following website: www.hsbaseballweb.com They have a section called the "Recruiting Timeline". It lays out some things you need to do year by year and even have some sample letters for initial contact and when sending a video. Go to the message boards and check out the recruiting board - lots of good information on that site.

I'm not sure who is going for us. Navery came in for the save last night at BA so I don't think he'll be able to go.
I think Adkins is scheduled to start for Goodpasture but the plan is to give several pitchers some work.

All good teams but the problem I see in that prediction is Goodpasture has to play both Smyrna and Bartlett in pool play and with 9 teams in each pool, it's not true pool play so even one loss may be too many. Last year, our guys went 3-1 in this tournament but didn't advance to the Championship round on Sunday. Rounding out Goodpasture's pool play games are USJ and Blackman so the likelihood of one or more losses is probable. I really doubt any other team will have a tougher road to the Championship round than that. With that said, these four games will help this team immensely in their goal of another trip to the State in May.

I'm curious if any of the USJ fans were surprised/upset that Gant only threw 3 innings at the state (if the box scores are correct)? After only throwing 3 innings in the first game, I would have thought he would start the Goodpasture game. And after losing that one I would have expected to see him in the elimination game against Marion County. What was the reasoning for not using him there? Any thoughts?
