I'm curious if any of the USJ fans were surprised/upset that Gant only threw 3 innings at the state (if the box scores are correct)? After only throwing 3 innings in the first game, I would have thought he would start the Goodpasture game. And after losing that one I would have expected to see him in the elimination game against Marion County. What was the reasoning for not using him there? Any thoughts?

I agree they both are out of balance. According to the TBCA rankings released yesterday, #1, #2 and #3 in AA are in the same bracket and in AAA you have the #2 and #3 matched up in a first round game. According to an article I read about Oakland advancing, it said they were slotted with a "blind draw". I guess the NCAA selection Committee has been doing it wrong all these years by seeding the basketball tournament. They should have just been drawing them out of a hat. I've seen a lot of people talk about how great the AA Championship game was last year between USJ and Goodpasture. Thanks to the clowns at the TSSAA, there can not be a rematch for the title. Once again, the TSSAA proves they are run by a bunch of morons.

I think Adkins is scheduled to start for Goodpasture but the plan is to give several pitchers some work.

All good teams but the problem I see in that prediction is Goodpasture has to play both Smyrna and Bartlett in pool play and with 9 teams in each pool, it's not true pool play so even one loss may be too many. Last year, our guys went 3-1 in this tournament but didn't advance to the Championship round on Sunday. Rounding out Goodpasture's pool play games are USJ and Blackman so the likelihood of one or more losses is probable. I really doubt any other team will have a tougher road to the Championship round than that. With that said, these four games will help this team immensely in their goal of another trip to the State in May.
