  1. Again, setting the records straight. First, the officiating was excellent, two of the best on the game. Second, I asked Tony Franz what the cards were for and he indicated he saw a Dickson player punch the Blackman player. The Blackman player then retaliated by pushing him down; the Blackman player did not punch the Dickson player, nor did he "kick him when he was down." Both red cards were deserved and I assure from the bench at Blackman we do not condone this kind of behavior and will deal with it. We, too, are aware of past opinions and biases and work hard to change that.
  2. Lets make the records clear - there were THREE undefeated teams. Blackman tied twice; we did not lose a game.

    Houston?

Typically the weaker teams? I guess I am not up with the soccer gods who make that call. All region champs have worked hard and then played a section game to be in the tournament. I hope Blackman is underestimated. We may surprise a few folks.
  4. 7 p.m. at Blackman High School.
  5. Not sure why you felt it should be public knowledge when you say it was addressed at the time. And I can assure you it is being addressed at Blackman. Why would you put this kind of post out? Shoud we reply and tell you what the Cookeville player said that prompted the response? It would not matter. There is no justification for either. Nor is there any reason that this "should be public knowledge."
  6. Blackman? Are you trying to be funny or do you just not know much about Blackman soccer. There is NO chance Blackman will be sitting home come Wednesday.
  7. Matt Reed of Blackman High in Murfreesboro has to be considered when talking about the best player in Middle Tennessee. He is a center defender who has scored 8 goals for us this season, including the only goal (Header) in a 1-0 victory over Cookeville for the District title, as well as the only goal (DFK) in a 1-1 tie against MBA earlier in the year. Matt is a junior and can do it all. Blackman has only given up one goal in district play this year, largely in part to a tremendous defense anchored by Matt.
  8. I kept running time (no stops on my watch). 4 and half minutes were added.
  9. Desire can only take you so far. Blackman is an incredibly talented team and will show that tonight. I have no doubt it will be a well played game but look for the Blaze to finally show up to play.
  10. Ryan Zeeck from Blackman is placing himself among the talented freshmen in the area, while playing both JV and Varsity. He tallied seven goals this past week, scoring twice Thursday (once in the JV game and once in the varsity game). He played in the JV tournament this past weekend and tallied 5 of the team's six goals. We are looking forward to three more years with Ryan. Ryan is physical, quick, and an excellent finisher.
  11. Clock is running for penalty kicks. However, the rules specifically provide that time is extended to allow the taking of a penalty kick awarded during play. I do agree with Blackman Dad that time is up when it is up no matter where the play is. I too think it is great when time is kept on the clock so everyone knows what time is left.
  12. Let's hope that no one is foolish enough to bring him back. He is everything that is wrong with high school soccer.
