  1. Briarcrest will defeat CBHS tomorrow by 4-8 pts, and win the D2 State Championship.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

I attended two of the three meetings (they split those) between these two teams. Either team could just have easily won both of those games. CBHS has the better perimeter game, but BCHS has the edge in transition, and a huge advantage in the paint. The difference in those games was clear and simple: When BCHS consistently utilized its big man, it won; When BCHS stopped going to its big man, CBHS won.

CBHS has deadly 3-point shooters, but has absolutely NO ANSWER for BCHS' big man. None!

Of course, Mr. Leslie McDonald will get his points. He's not THE key to a BCHS victory, though, believe it or not.

Since this game is for all the "marbles," I strongly suspect that Briarcrest's coach will make it a priority to get his big man the ball, early and often! As such, BCHS should pull out the biggest, most important victory over its arch rival, CBHS, in another exciting nail-biter.

Is Briarcrest young ???? next year will they only have McDonald ???

  2. Memphis City Schools does not have an "open enrollment policy", now I admit, kids pretty much go where they want, cause when there is a "will" there is a "way". Some schools are optional schools, and might can get kids in, but the privates get more of the great players than the publics, imagine how good Memphis would be if Leslie McDonald and others played at public schools.

The teams to beat are Ridgeway, Memphis Central, Kirby, and Raleigh-Eqypt. The sleeper is Craigmont, they have the talent, just have not put together a solid run. It could be an all Memphis final, they need to move the tourney to FedEx Forum, cause if it was a all Memphis AAA final and one AA team, it would be a nice crowd. You could see 4 teams from Memphis playing in A, AA, and AAA finals, maybe 5. Unfortunately, Memphis is that much better than the rest of the state in boys hoops. Just look at the titles over the last 20 to 30 years.

Who will be the best team next year in Memphis ?? How good is Briarcrest & the McDonald kid ???

  3. 1. BTW 15 of there 18 wins have came aganist teams with losing records- 0 wins -vs- dandy dozen teams

    2. Kirby the real #1 team with wins over Ridgeway, Raleigh Egypt, Craigmont, White Station all Dandy Dozen Teams

    3. Ridgeway should be #2 with a MONSTER! MONSTER! schedule and only 1 lost to Kirby.

    4. Briarcrest should be #5 with a very bad lost to tupelo, MS, but they won Arby's Classic

    5. Raleigh Egypt should be #4 with a crushing win over Craigmont & a 8 game winning streak.

    6. St George's should be #8 they will win small privet schools state, but only beat CBHS so far this year the other wins are -VS- JV teams with 2 loses

7.CBHS should be #9 they will be contenders for the large privet school state but lost to St George's

    8. Craigmont should be #11 at 15-8 because terico white & they beat White Station

9.White Station should be ranked #12 in the poll because they have played but lost to Briarcrest, Antioch, Craigmont, Raleigh Egypt, Kirby, and Ridgeway by 34pts!!! and have not beat a quality opponent Cass Lake the game that came on TV is it just me or was Cass Lake just Horrible! but With F Hall next season they could win the class 3-A state. Joe Jackson is the truth but that kid from Ridgeway had him on lockdown

    10. Manassas should be #6 they have only lost 1 game this season with there entire team playing they have played a MOnster schedule till league play 16 of there 23 wins have come -VS- Teams with winning records On there 5th game in 5 days they lost 2 ridgeway by 5 not by 34 like White Station did.

    11. Central should be #10 with a win over Oak Ridge but lose to CBHS

    12. Wooddale lost to White Station so they should fall out the polls cause White Station should be #12

Mitchell should be ranked #7 with a monster none league schedule and a win over a Buckner less Manassas in Illinois

other teams to watch out for are Whitehaven, Melrose, Treadwell come tourny time

Just think about those facts and tell me what you think

    Is this stuff just political!!!

Hawaii went undefeated in football but they didnt play anybody so how could they play for the NC! or be the best we see what happened when they played Georgia (#1BTW)

How about top 5 for next year ??

  4. I'm not saying they aren't a quality team but when you're talking about beating teams like WC, Antioch, Liberty Tech etc.. you better be good! To me they aren't "that" good. They are a very solid group but i don't think they have a shot at winning the state championship in AA while WC has a very good chance of winning it in AAA IMHO. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    After WC tonight ?? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  5. So you call getting beat by DeSales by 7 getting beat badly? I'll give you Lex Cath waxed the floor with them but if you call getting beat by 7 by Desales then i guess CPA got waxed in their three losses by 14,20 and 10?? No i haven't seen them play but i know a little about the program and the kids playing there and while they are some very good players they could not and would not beat White Co. no matter what you type in on this website. I look for White Co. to make it to the state tournament and who knows after that. They have won it twice in AAA so they have what it takes to win the state they have proven that in the past. At this point CPA has potential to be a good team but then again they should always have potential year in an year out because of the players that come to the school from outside of the area. They get the "best of the best" because of their "private school" status as WE ALL KNOW. This is why its always a great thing when county and city schools win because they only get what is allotted to them for the most part. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

No but DeSales is not top 20 team ........ CPA played the top #1 Mason Co and was beat by 12 ..... 8-14 point game ........ WC played a top ranked KY team and was beat by 50 and had hard time getting the ball to mid-court ... Big difference ....... Again I'm just saying after watching WC play two games and watching CPA play there big difference ........... You just need to watch both teams play .....

  6. Every post you've made is about CPA so you are obviously a biased fan probably a kid on here trying to sound like you know what you're talking about. CPA is a decent AA team but not in the class of White Co. It would be the other way around with White Co. beating CPA by about 20 but it would be a decent game for awhile i will give you that much. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

I hope your joking !! Kid in heart I hope .......... Lex Coth & DeSales beat them bad !! Wins vs Clay Co & Boyle County .......... DB may be better @ this point ?? ..........Have you watch CPA play this year ??

  7. Why are you trying to get on here and insult our intelligence? CPA DOES and ALWAYS HAS recruited! They are a private school!!. Their enrollement does not come from their surrounding "area" it comes from ALL over the state. Please give us all a break will you! Regardless they have a fine squad and for all i know are in complete compliance with TSSAA rules which makes them LEGAL so its a moot point IMHO. However they aren't anywhere near as good as teams like White Co., Antioch or Oakland. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

What ever I guess ........?? I've watch 3 TN teams this year ....... CPA,White Co,DB ........ No way White Co . can play with CPA ...... KY is a cut above TN ........ CPA would beat White Co by 20 + ..... Not sure about Antioch or Oakland but need more than talk !!

  8. I agree it will help them down the road....It will definitely teach them to keep wins in perspective and that anyone can beat you badly,no matter your record....

I wouldn't say anytime a Tennessee team can play in a tournament in Kentucky,though....All of them aren't big-time events...Only a handful are....Up here in Union City we are situated up here close to the First Region and alot of schools play in tournaments in Paducah,Murray,Graves County and places like that where local teams around here do fine in.....

The Lex Cath tourney is good event,Fairdale has one that is...The Marshall County Hoop Fest isn't really a showcase for Kentucky teams..They are more interested in Oak Hill Acd and other nationally ranked teams and teams that have Kentucky Wildcat recruits....It is a prestigious event though...

The Farm Bureau Classic is a great showcase of KY teams ! This year's event had Mason County,Scott County,Louisville Male,Shelby Valley,Paintsville all ranked top 20 in KY ... Also CPA,DB,Withrow OH and South Charleston ....

  9. It is going to be an awesome atmosphere with both schools trying to get as many people as they can to come support their teams. These are the top 2 teams in the district in my opinion. I think CPA will win because of their experience and because of the excitement of the game. Home-court counts a lot in this match-up. Nobody, including the #1 team in Kentucky, has been able to stop Z Mason this year. He's averaging over 26 points a game and is a monster on the boards. If CPA continues their habit from their games so far, I predict that they'll be up by double digits at the half, and win by less.

    Any updates ??

  10. Z Mason had 30.

CPA had 12 turnovers, 9 in the first half.

CPA was down by 12 at the half and couldn't catch up but matched blow for blow in the 2nd half. David Anderson and Z Mason did a great job on Darius Miller, but they couldn't stop the other guys. Too focused on the big guy I guess. If a few 3's had fallen and a few less turnovers committed, it would have been a close one.

Great event !!! CPA should get the ball to Z-Mason more !! No one on the court could stop him ...!?
