I don't have a baby girl playing high school anymore but I am head coach that coached in the state tournament this year and know many of the girls that made each All-Star team and others that were left off team that made All-State in TSCA and were available to play on the 16th. Softball needs organizations like MTSCA and TSCA to help get visibility out there for the girls but as coaches we have to demand a better selection process for the associations that we choose to join and participate in.

Columbia Academy will be hosting its 7th Annual Middle School Tournament at the CA softball field on March 14th and 15th 2014. The entry fee for the tournament is $125 with a 3 game guarantee. The format will be 2 pool and single elimination with a trophy for the 1st and 2nd place teams. This tournament will be limited to the first 6 teams that sign up. Columbia Academy Softball will be hosting a Middle School playday at Ridley Park in Columbia on February 22, 2014. The entry fee is $125 per team and each team will get 3 games. Ridley park is a GREAT new park with 6 fields so we will be able to get you in and out as quickly as you want. No sitting around all day to play, we will work to your schedule. On December 7th Columbia Academy will be hosting a Softball Camp and Champions Dinner featuring former UT Lady Vols Players Ivy Renfroe, Shelby Burchell and Ashley Andrews. This will be an all skills camp including pitching, catching, hitting and fielding. The camp is open for girls 7 to 18 years of age. On the evening of December 7th there will be a Champions Dinner and Silent Auction with all 3 of the former Lady Vols speaking, answering questions and signing autographs. The camp and dinner price for the camper is $65. Additional tickets to the dinner for parents of campers, general public and children choosing not to attend the camp is $25. It will be a GREAT day and night so come out and be a part of it. In case of inclement weather for the camp there are 3 indoor facilities on campus to accommodate all facets of the camp. The dinner will be held in the new Anderson Fieldhouse on the CA campus.
