Columbia Academy will again be hosting a Middle School tournament this year. Tournament will be played ay CA and CSCC softball fields. There will be 2 pool games and a 6 team single elimination bracket at each field. The winner of each bracket will play a 7 inning championship game at CA. Lady Chargers Welcome: Richland Page Mt. Pleasant Columbia Academy

The Columbia State Lady Chargers Softball Team will host a high school playday on Saturday, March 12th. Columbia State will be accepting 12 teams for this playday. The playday fee will be $100 per team. Each team will get three games. Games will be played at CSCC and Columbia Academy. So come out and get ready for the season at two of the nicer venues in Middle Tennessee. Championship Game(s) are Thursday night May 13th. Saturday the 8th, Wednesday the 12th are built in rain days if needed.

I heard dates were 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, 13th for dates. Games are correct as listed though. If it ever stops raining..........

If the slapper starts with the bat at her shoulder (like any batter), then brings the bat into the zone and contacts the ball in a swinging motion it should just be a foul ball IMO.... I have seen one or two umps in high school call it a bunt but never in college. If the slapper does as described above it is no different than a check swing with a batter. If the batter check swings a ball and fouls it with 2 strikes it is a foul ball doesn't matter if wrist breaks or not.

Are you an Umpire? haha..just had to say that Someone else may be able to quote the rule but obstruction is the defense impeding the runner either by getting in the way, faking a tag or similar. Interference is when runner does similar act to the defender. I tried to copy and paste rule but I couldn't get it to work. What was the play?

CA was home team and ump said you could not start an inning after 65 minutes even though it was 70 minute game. Maybe ump had worked overtime in another game..haha who knows....if game was short it didn't help out either team. Congrats to TRINITY!!!
