  1. I'm not trying to start anything "bluesfan". I am sincere, there are good kids on that team and if there is a problem I hope they get it worked out. Lighten up!
  2. I read about it on eteamz also, there seems to be some turmoil at DC. It is ashame too, they have some good kids. Maybe they can get it turned around.
  3. I don"t know where this is but there seems to be some unhappy campers there. They posted on the Tennessee high school, fastpitch, announcements on eteamz giving their coaches down the road. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  4. Pitching_toe: The Bulldogs the post is referring to is Cornersville not CA or at least that is the way I read it.
  5. Just want to thank everyone that attended Saturday, we had real good weather and got in a lot of good games. I have listed the results, sorry I don't have all the scores but maybe some of the other teams can fill them in. Game 1 - CA 9 BGA 2 Game 2 - BGA over Nashville Christian Game 3 - East Hickman over BGA Game 4 - CA 17 Obion Central 0 Game 5 - East Hickman over Nashville Christian Game 6 - Obion Central over BGA Game 7 - CA 4 East Hickman 2 Game 8 - BGA over Nashville Christian Game 9 - East Hickman over Obion Central Game 10 - CA 15 Nashville Christian 4
  6. Hope they make up their mind soon. I know we are trying to find teams that are open on the dates they cancelled and I am sure other teams are too. I really hope they get enough to have a team, how many seniors do they have this year?
  7. Santa Fe fielded a high school team last year. Before that I am not sure. Some jh programs do run longer than others. I know the one at our school ends March 20th. I would just like to see them get something worked out for the girls sake. I know some have worked in the off-season to get ready and to have it pulled out from under them 10 days before the season stinks. Even if you had to cut the jh schedule short. I am sure Cully would do that if it was going to impact boys basketball.
  8. When does the jh season end? Most end around the end of the 3rd week of March. That is only 2 weeks into the hs season. If they had enough for both programs to survive til then that seems like the best for both. Doesn't make much sense to keep a jh program going if you don't have a high school program to move to. I think you are on the right path, rhs013. I don't think its the parents or the coach. I remember last year there were a lot of people around the Cully area that thought it was a made up deal. Is there any possibility that they are going to find enough players to have a team or have they totally pulled the plug for this year?
  9. CA had 11 high school players and brought up one 8th grader for the whole season last year. The 8th grader did start for them. How many girls did Cully have out this year and last? You really need at least 11 to play. Did they really cut players before the season?
  10. I don't really think the coach is the problem, I talked to him a while back and he seemed really excited about playing softball this year. Culleoka has had some good players in the past that have played at the next level. Last year is a good example, Culleoka cancels their season and Kayla Cole ends up going to Columbia Central and is probably their MVP last year. She is now at Motlow and doing good. Heather James played shortstop for Forrest last year and they ended up state runner up. I don't know what the answer is but there are strange things happening with Culleoka softball. I don"t think it has all just been a numbers thing. If you can't afford to commute somewhere else or if Central doesn"t need you them it seems like you are out of luck and that is sad. Maybe they can get their issues resolved soon.
  11. Columbia Academy is looking to fill a spot left vacant after Culleoka had to cancel. Every team will play four games, March 1st. Other teams include, BGA, CA, East Hickman and Nashville Christian. For more info call 931-224-0371 or 931-637-8886.
  12. Whitwell is a public school in Marion County.
  13. The Goodpasture vs. Camden game on Friday night which was the first championship game was awesome from start to finish. As far as fantastic finishes the CA vs. Richland series had two. I call it a series because the teams ended up playing each other 5 times this year. CA scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and nobody on to win 6 to 5. The other game was the 11A District Championship game where Richland battled back from 6 runs down in the top of the 7th to tie CA at 9 and then CA comes back in the bottom of the 10th with a walk-off HR blasted by their freshman pitcher to win the tournament 10 to 9. It was the pitchers first career HR. Both teams had great seasons and played really hard.
  14. I agree with a lot of what you say. Forrest is a very well coached team. They have several strong players including a great pitcher and they have a great following and always have in all sports which helps lead to their success. My comment about Cascade finishing second to Forrest in the district was meant as a hypothetical situation. I know Cascade had a real good team this year and I heard they had some key injuries that really hurt but I really don't know where Cascade finished in the district. Lets forget about Forrest for a minute. If Cascade finished runner-up to Eagleville (I think they are in your district) and Cascade lost two one run games to Eagleville in the regular season and then Cascade beat Eagleville in the district tournament championship. Then Eagleville won their way back to you in the region finals and beat you by one run again with a player that Cascade had found out was probably ineligible would you still pat them on the back and tell them good game and feel good because you did all you could do? It sounds like from you Forrest pretty well spanked everyone in their district and they may have. When I look at the box scores in the state tournament I see Forrest beat Whitwell 4-3 by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh in which the tying run was scored by the player in question after she got a base hit to start the rally. Now if I am a Whitwell parent/coach/or player and I got put in the losers bracket by a team that wasn't legal it would be hard to take. Those kids at Whitwell have worked hard as well for a year to get to that point. In the whole scheme of things TCS took home the hardware and second is just the first loser. If the girl is eligible great if she isn't then it's probably like you said in your post. It comes down to the parents not setting a good example for their kids by not acting like mature adults. It's not the kids fault. Hopefully the TSSAA will step in soon and put this to bed one way or the other, if it has even been reported.
  15. I would like to give Ricky Thompson a vote. Columbia Academy was picked at or near the bottom of 11A at the beginning of the year. Early in the year it looked like the writers were right. But, after many hours of work he took a team that lost five starters from a year ago and plugged in four freshman and an 8th grader and led them to District and Regional Tournament Titles.
  16. Cascade11 this is not a private school/public school debate. This is just simply right or wrong, public school or private school. I only know what I have read on this forum, I don't have a dog in the race. But, if the girl in question played high school softball for Culleoka last year and she tranfered to Forrest this year and she did not move to Chapel Hill she should be ineligible. It doesn't matter how much she is trying to enjoy high school or how much she was done wrong by Culleoka dropping softball this year. I was in the same situation myself back several years ago. I transfered from one school to another and I had to sit out one calender year. I wanted to enjoy my high school as well but I had to do it with one less year of eligibility. It doesn't matter if she is tranferring from Culleoka to Forrest or from Forrest to FCS it has to be done within the TSSAA rules. Like your claim, I love this game as well. I would only want to get beat by teams playing by the same rules as me. If I was a Cascade fan and I had finished second in my district behind a team that had an ineligible player I would be wanting someone to step in and penalize the offending team public or private.
  17. She wasn't a factor at all, she only batted .286 with 4 RBI and a HR in 5 games in the state tournament.
  18. I'm glad we got that one figured out, now if someone can tell me who TSC is?
  19. How do you tranfer out of county and not sit out a year, disbanded or not?
  20. Who said anything about FCS's pitching? FCS played a good game but TCA did what they had to do. Congratulations to both teams.
  21. Columbia Academy beat FCS twice this year and Forrest beat CA in the sectional. FCS has a good team but I don't think there better than Forrest, and TCA is a level above everyone else.
  22. Hannah Hogan for Columbia Academy picked up her 20th win tonight. She had 7 wins last year as an 8th grader.
  23. CA will host the 12-A runner-up (Summertown or Collinwood) on Monday at 7pm. Richland will travel to the 12-A Champion on Monday .
