1. CPA vs. Goodpasture should be on CPA's side considering they are playing on their own field, then they can easily defeat Ezell or DCA, considering they did it already during this season. Hume Fogg should be able to beat MLK again, then FRA vs. Lipscomb will be a tough game. I only know CPA will be in the finals, as far as the other team, it's still up in the air.

Didn't FRA beat Hume Fogg as well as CPA?

If your asking my top 2 teams though: CPA vs. FRA in the district final

  2. A/AA Reigon 5 District 9 is this:

    (1) CPA

    (2) Hume Fogg

    (3) FRA

    (4) Ezell-Harding

    (5) DCA

    (6) David Lipscomb

    (7) MLK

    (8) Goodpasture

    Round 1:

    (1) CPA vs. (8) Goodpasture

    (2) Hume Fogg vs. (7) MLK

    (3) FRA vs. (6) David Lipscomb

    (4) Ezell-Harding vs. (5) DCA

  3. QUOTE(WestTNMatron9 @ May 2 2007 - 07:27 AM) 826449729Even though SD got killed by Bearden 6-0 they turned up a win last night at Willie B 9-0. "The Real Neil" Johnson had a hat trick and "P-Mac" Patrick McLemore had a "Pat" trick with the shut out. Steven Asquith and Bryce Berry each added two goals a piece with an amazing assist from Adam "Warthog" Massie. I pick South-Doyle big, maybe 45-0. Expect a big game from Chris "DB" Stallings.

Bearden is the #1 team though aren't they? /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> And I also predict South Doyle winning, but i think 5-1 is a little bit better than 45-0 huh? Good luck to both teams.

CPA and HF are two geat teams when it comes to the attack, but seeing both of them play in the district they are in, I think that CPA will win due to their defense. HF has a good defense, but CPA's is much more organized and sufficient. CPA: 3 HF: 1

  5. QUOTE(mrudder @ Apr 28 2007 - 08:01 AM) 826447387yea it was a hard weekend for pf but they were playing w/o their starting keeper due to concussion and the game was a lot closer than the final score showed...pf lead 1-0 and it was tied 1-1 at halftime...but from what i have seen so far this year whichever team goes to state from east TN should win state inm A/AA

I'm not sure East TN has what it takes to completely disregard middle TN's playing power.

  6. QUOTE(sportfreak @ Apr 28 2007 - 10:07 AM) 826447415Great goal by Myers. The assist by Ian Moore was sweet, too. Luke Roman had some unbelievable saves!

What a game! Tie game, CPA vs. FRA the entire game until about 3 minutes left in the game. The ball rolled to the FRA keeper, and the keeper made an unwise decision to pass it closely then to clear it. Aside from that, both teams played a great game, and the CPA goaly had he not been on his "A" game, would have been torn up, but he was, and those saves were amazing. A tough district, and I don't think that FRA is necissarily out of the runnings, post-season is comming up.

  7. McNairy played FRA (#9) in the Jackson TN Jamboree if im not mistaken didn't they? I could not tell you the score, but that was a game I heard a bit about earlier on in the pre-season. What happened in that one? I mention this because FRA is one of the lower ranked top 11 A/AA teams, so was curious how McNairy played against them (and any other top 11 A/AA teams if they have played any)

  8. QUOTE(gregs8204 @ Apr 27 2007 - 01:27 PM) 826446954Lipscomb beat FRA for a couple reasons. FRA was up 1-0 at the half, but Lipscomb got some late 1st half chances that turned the momentum. Second half they tied it early, then they had control because they were playing their style of play. Last 20 minutes, FRA took dominant control and DL keeper stepped up big, making 2 upper ninety saves and 2 free kicks that would have gone in if his wingspan was about 2 inches smaller. They got the ball past midfield once or twice in thos last 20 minutes, and it was a fast break where the defense of FRA wasnt ready and the foward beat the keeper. Refs then ended the game after that shot so it was a 2-1 game

Agreed. FRA lost to lipscomb as well because you could tell that they over-estimated DLHS. Lipscomb is a strong team, but the district they are in is unfortunate. And yes, FRA had dominance in the last 20-30 minutes of the second half of the FRA vs. DLHS game, but like said earlier, the keeper had one of the most amazing games I've ever seen a keeper have, because the shots mentioned earlier were easily perfectly placed, and also with great force. But in the Reigon 5, District 9 tonight Hume Fogg (#8) plays Lipscomb, which should be a good battle, considering both teams are very strong in the attack, and CPA (#7) plays FRA (#9) which is obviously going to be a battle, due to the huge rivalry between those two teams. See everyone at the games, and goodluck to A/AA teams throughout Middle Tennessee tonight!

  9. QUOTE(gregs8204 @ Apr 27 2007 - 10:07 AM) 826446767You make some good points, though i disagree with you. FRA had the more difficult side of the bracket. As for having fatigue playing a factor, yes it did. While Indy was up 6-0 at half against both antioch and fairview, FRA had close games at half and were keeping in there starters longer, knowing that if they put in some reserves the tide of the game could very well switch and the other team get quick goals. All 3 of the teams FRA played had a offensive threat up front, and they could all move the ball (except Dickson, really the only reason that game was close was outstanding play from the keeper), so if you think about it Indy's varsity played probably a 2 games of soccer and FRA played 3. Even though that wasnt why FRA lost the game, it was somewhat of a factor. The reason Independance beat FRA is because both teams play the same type of game, and Independence was just better at it. School size really does not have that much of an impact on the game.

Edit: As for FRA being underated, i believe they should be 2 or 3 spots higher on the rankings, but their not that underrated. The real teams that are underrated are the lower seeds in FRA's District. Teams like DCA(beat Franklin) Goodpasture(Tied CPA) Ezell Harding was a great side before their breakdown after the tie with FRA, i mean even Lipscomb, a team that hasnt been great in the past, they beat FRA and had other close games against higher ranked teams

Agreed. FRA does possibly deserve to be around 5-7 seed in the A/AA rankings. The district they are in does also deserve a litle bit mroe recognition, and a thing that confuses me is another team in their district, Hume Fogg. They beat Ex-#1 seed USJ and only switched places with FRA (Ex-#8, now #9)? Thats a big odd, how does USJ still stand infront of them? Oh well, good soccer today, good luck to all the teams!

    In middle tennessee, of course. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

  11. QUOTE(wbcsoccer11 @ Apr 25 2007 - 06:18 AM) 826444760pigeon forge just had an awful weekend and it the first real compition they have had since the county tournament they started the season with way overrated this year but they will make it to the sectionals because the lack of compittion in their district and region

Then lose to another team again. They were no competition based on scores to the only A/AA team they played there (FRA #9). The only ranked team they've played they lsot to 1-4. Ouch!

  12. QUOTE(MortonC @ Apr 24 2007 - 01:47 PM) 826444245Well you make at least one good point, on the scale of brackets... FRA was in the more difficult of brackets according to numbers and stats, but you need to think about what you said after that... you claim that on the whole all of those teams are of a lower status because they are not part of AAA. That takes away from the whole sport. It should come down to the players and the coaches not the size of the school. Either way, if the teams were better and the bracket was more difficult, then the end result should have been different. Independence also played a tough team on Saturday morning at the same time as FRA and still faced the same number of games and played on the field the same amount of time. Fatigue and other excuses should not play in. Other wise, you down play the skill of the game and the fact that any team who walks on the field has a chance of making an upset or accomplishing something special.
