  2. The results of the survey taken by schools that utilized the shot clock at summer camp in basketball were provided to the Board. The Board voted to not implement a shot clock in basketball and that it would not entertain further discussion on the subject for at least the next three years.

I do not hate Meigs but of course I look forward to Central beating them. The Warhorse is on the rise and it is no secret and that is why players from other teams are wanting to get on the train now. We also have a big one that transferring in from Mcminn County to play football and basketball. I read the paper about your scrimmage with Loudon. The redskins are always big and strong and it showed last year when they played Central. Central is getting bigger and stronger and I wish we could play Loudon this year. Meigs seemed to overcome early problems they had with the scrimmage with Loudon. I know Meigs has a lot of seniors and will be good this year. Our transfer from Meigs is a great kid. Don't know how Meigs let him slip away but there are others from Meigs who talked to our coach about coming here. I hear there are some problems with the new coaches at Meigs they need to work on.  The players at Central are having fun while they work hard because our coaches are doing so good with them. Read the paper about our 4 way scrimmage Friday and you will see how well we did. I enjoy talking to fans of our competitors on here.  I do not mean to disrespect you or any of them but I do like to trade jabs here and there.

So you’re saying the coach broke rules?

  4. Not too difficult even with different populations in different areas of the state..

Determine which area each team belongs, whether general like East TN and Mid TN, or more specific like metro Knoxville or Upper Cumberland.

From there, classify your teams by whatever strength factor you want, consistent playoff success, records over a certain amount of years, best uniforms, sassiest coach T fans.

Figure out what percentage of each area lives up to your measure.

It’s my understanding that the student athletes must live with a family member or legal guardian.  Are you saying that parents are signing over their legal parenting rights to a stranger?

No, just staying weeknights regardless of rules.

There are several reasons there is a divide between the boarding schools and non boarding schools:

    1.  Kids that are going to boarding schools to play football only to leave and go back home the Monday after winning a state championship

    2. You are allowed to already have an athletic record established and transfer to a boarding school and you are eligible immediately.

    3.  Boarding schools do not have to develop a roster but merely recruit a new roster every season.

Non-boarding privates get around this, just staying with an unofficial host family on weeknights.

  7. Turf was installed here, not only did it help the high school program, but four middle school and high school soccer teams play on it. As a result, no lights, restrooms, extra bleachers and other expenses were needed for the adjacent field which is now just a soccer practice field. middle school and Youth football and other events also are held which made it tough on grass the last 20+ years.
