I have heard that the Covington coach left for a job in Kentucky because he and his wife have family there and he wanted to be closer to them. About the program, they had a down year this year but they lost 7-8 senior starters from last year;s championship team. I am sure they will rebuild as they have in the past. There is alot of young talent there.

I think you are wrong with that comment, about Covington not appreciating Coach Murphree. He came to an established program and continued the success. Coach Murphree is an excellent coach and had a very good staff at the school. I am sure he will be successful wherever he goes and I am sure that the Covington program will continue to succeed. The people of Covington are grateful to the work Coach Murphree did and wish him nothing but the best.

Well it is obviously not a rumor cause the job openning is listed on the TSSAA website, along with the Head Baseball job at Covington.

I heard that the head coach at Covington had resigned. Any truth to this rumor? Covington has had a very strong team over the past few years. How will this affect the 2007 team? Anyone know any info about this situation??
