Also, what is the outlook for White Station next season?
I know that Maryville was supposed to have a "down" year this year, and they have a lot of talent coming back, especially with sophomore Jacob West.
-
Those two defenses in this game were two of the worse defensive football teams that I have seen all year long. Based on the way each one of those defensive teams played neither one should have been in the final game.
Maryville's defense has been shutting teams down all season...I don't think that their defense is bad at all, I just think that Julian Burton is extremely talented
-
Congratulations to both teams for excellent seasons. I didn't think White Station had a chance in this game, to be honest. The play of Julian Burton was simply outstanding, and I should have given WS much more credit.

To the guy that said Polk would beat William Blount and Heritage last season... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Thanks for the information! Rain-outs make the scheduling hard to keep up with
-
Has the game been played yet? If not, when and where will it be?
-
Just look at the records man.
Over the last four years, Ooltewah has split with William Blount. I don't see much to be too afraid of, besides the Ooltewah fans themselves. It's always a good trip to the nest if you get out without being verbally assaulted, like our players were in 2006.

Logan is a great kid...I'm very glad that the doctors found this and corrected it. I'll definately be praying for him and his family

Lots of new faces are in the mix for this season, both in the coaching staff and on the field.
The first day of full pads was yesterday. I know the guys are excited to finally get out there and hit someone again, and I'm just as excited!
This year we should be much improved, especially if we stay relatively injury-free. There's a real buzz around this season...I think it could be something special
-
i would be interested to hear why you think WB could finish in the top 3
Last year was a transition year after Coach Puleo stepped down. Getting used to the new coaching staff coupled with a ton of injuries made it a difficult year for WB. I think that this year will be a rebound year, and the Govs will surprise a lot of people.

1. Farragut
2. Bearden
3. William Blount
4. South Doyle
5. Maryville
6. Sevier Co.
7. Heritage
8. Lenoir City

Spring practice starts in less than a month...if you can even call it "spring" practice!
Feb. 18th is quickly approaching...can't wait to see us break out the new orange helmets for a new season /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Will he be the Head Coach or DC?
-
I know that William Blount will be switching to orange helmets this season...no word yet on what the new logo will be. I'll post more info when I know.
-
Micah Ballard from William Blount is very good
-
I believe that Jesse will stay at WR
-
hausenstaub - what do you think - even close?
Nice! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
Matt should be one of the leading candidates for the RB position...also look for Caleb Elkins and Dylan Keith to contribute
-
You are correct...Burton was the starter until he got hurt in the Cleveland scrimmage. Everything is good for him to play next year, and he should be a candidate. He's got a great arm but needs some varsity experience. I think the two frontrunners will be Witt and Burton, but after last year, anything can happen.
-
Your right about the playoffs and we can only bame ourselves for losing to lesser teams in 3 of the past 4 years.
Maybe you didn't lose to lesser teams...

Was a great banquet last night...best of luck to next year's group. I'm definately excited for next year, Emert has the boys working hard in the weight room and Meadows is coming back with a purpose. We've got two quarterbacks coming back a year stronger and smarter and some good sized linemen returning. Hopefully we'll get back to the playoffs in the new region.

Hey JanJ
I won't mind going to Farragut if they'll do a little work on the visitors side. Some restrooms and a little better bleacher system would go a long way....

GO GOVS
I think they've spent all their money on that fancy baseball stadium next to the football field...
-
Which ones are district/region or whatever they are calling it now? I noticed the MHS game is away for the GOVS for the second straight year. Are there any more peculiarities on the schedule like playing a team home or away two years in a row?
The Govs will travel to Maryville and Farragut for the second straight season. Edit: got beat to it
The non-district games for this year are Sevier Co., Karns, and Jefferson Co.

Lot of new faces on the schedule for next season...I'm especially looking foward to the Catholic game.
I think I'm the only one on this thread... /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

Maryville vs. White Station 6A State Championship
in Class 5A & Class 6A

The guy that you're quoting isn't even a Maryville fan, so why would he be trying to make excuses for their loss? I'm not a Maryville fan either, but they're a well-coached, talented football team. White Station was the better team tonight, but don't fool yourself into thinking that Maryville wouldn't beat the "elite" DII teams on a regular basis.
