  1. I have received very reliable information that molly is going to clarkrange. I am a jackson county fan and supporter. I want to say that before all the uproar, that I do not think she was recruited. As I have said many times, players want to go to good situations. This is not to demean any school, but to give credit to those that have succeded with programs. I know that jim and lamar do not have to recruit, that players want to be in a good situation and to better themselves. So I aplaud her, her parents, this is not easy, and clarkrange. This is america, where there is freedom of choice. To the schools that are in the lower situaions, get people involved, hire a coach that will build the program, that will treat the players fairly in all ways. Let him run the program, and the parents and area support him or her in this cause.
  2. A very deserving group. Well done. We can set back and say nothing. But it screams to be said, that there are some coaches in 7A that are so jealous and misguided that they are unable to set an example for their players or to do what is right. I want to say that I think Lamar Rogers and his wife are two of the best peoople I have ever met. A great coach. But this year Jim Brown took less and did more than anyone. He had a great group of kids but I do not believe anyone else could have accomplished what he did. You say well what does it matter? Well it cheapens the award to a meaningless thing, and as sports minded people we need to stand for what is right. We need coaches that set and example of fair play, honesty, and will do what is right. Folks we don't have that in 7A right now. And coaches you know who you are. There are two leading the charge, and you know who you are. We need to demand more from the leaders of our young sports participants.
  3. There are about three of you that get on here and put down JC and also 7a. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your team. We listened all year about our teams being overrated and what you were going to do when they got to the state tournament. Well jc and cr backed up what their fans were proud of. Now when your teams do it as you did the two years before get on here and howl if you wish. Until you do show a little good sense, and don't put people down because they win. You say you don't, but your little snipes, and covered slurs, say different. I might add your intelligence, and credibility are slipping, just like my typing and spelling ability. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. Titanjo- as a jc fan I think you for the kind remarks, but I can assure you that she does not play for personal awards. She is truly a team player, her main goal was a gold ball. Laken has taken her lumps in life, God has been good to her. Thank you and Bless the teammates, coaches, and fans in Jackson County.
  5. mr and mrs coach ad our best wishes to misti. A great acheivement. We have enjoyed watching you play. Best of wishes your next two games, we plan on being there. Good Luck.
  6. Senator I agree with you. jc always plays good defense, but since dec. they have not played offense on a consistant basis. They did in the reg against cr. I do not know what coach brown tells them, but if you live by the bomb, you will surely die by it. I hope they know that this is their best chance for a gold ball in several years. I f its not working try something else. The bombs are not falling. As I have noticed for 40 years, it is hard to win championships with bombs. It is gutey defense and taking it inside to the opponent that wins. Senator I agree with you. jc always plays good defense, but since dec. they have not played offense on a consistant basis. 7. Devilish I have been keeping up with forrest all year. They have been blasting people. I think they are for real. I think your 5 prediction is about right. Don't you bet you tobaccer money though. You would be miserable without your chaw. And tell them girls they are not allowed to chew baccer while thay are playing at state. The reason I heard the refs stumbled, the last time they played there because someone let a little drip down their chin onto the floor. One little mistake, and they change the rules. See you tomorrow. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  8. Hello their festus. Have a little trouble spelling myself. Don't mean I don"t know my ball. But in this case you messed up on both. Thats why they call me coach. Our friends up north cr are going to show you a thing or to about basketball. My pick cr+15. They ain't won 29 games a year for no reason. festus support your team might see you in the boro. It is an honor for these teams and yours to be there. Be proud win or lose. I was just funnin you a little. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  9. Stang it don't get no better than this. I have said all along that jc has the coaching, the best fans in the world. I mean I was so glad that they cheered the other players, in the regional, in the sub state, the humble reap the rewards. Don't let others that speak harm pull you down to their level. God bless the jc fans, players, boys and girls. jc refuses to let bad things interfear with their love of the game.I really did predict our girls to beat cr in the reg. I did predict the upset by the boys last nite. I predict that both teams will play great in the state. That is all we should ask, and show the state that they have had good raising. Two or three may chew tobacco, but they allways use the trashcan. Devils girls say it helps relieve the stress of the game. Just kidding-see you in the boro. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  10. congraduations. This jc team is an example of good coaching, the guys seem to really like each other, they never doubt. They improved all year, peaked at the right time. Fan support. This team should be an example in future years to all that come and play the game. This is what sports should be, play hard and just sometimes you got to reach down, and gut it out. They should be an example to all of us when we are down, and need to just say I ain't giving up. Way to go proud of you. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  11. Hello bob 77 always enjoy your comments. I feel as I have said earlier, that because of the attacks on the people that have posts, and the attacks on the young women at JC that 86 should be banned from this media. Senator is one of the most respected voices on here. 86 never has any facts just hate of people he don't agree with and his false apologies are not cutting it anymore. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  12. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> This is a good time of the year. Everyone that is in the tournament is worthy and should be respected. I am a jackson county fan and supporter. If they do not win it all, the world will go on. We have had a fantastic year. We need to keep that in mind. So as the teams bow out, it is and honor to be here. Be proud of all the teams, what they have accomplished, and give them the respect and honor they deserve. As fans we also need to show good sportsmanship, and remember these are young ladies, I stress the work young, and not pro athletes. Good luck to all and may it be a great tournament, I believe it will. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  13. I have been highly critical of the refs this year. I repeat that some of the worst I have seen in 40 years. We are a critical people, but slow to give praise. I think the crew that did this game sat. nite did an excellent job . They were not perfect, no one is, but they did a good professional job. They called a lot of fouls, but both teams played sloppy at times. Good job refs. I repeat something needs to be done before next year here in 7a. The refs should not be the stars of the game. I was once told that if you did not notice the refs they were doing a good job. Touch fouls should be eliminated, if one team gets on someones back, it should be called when that happens on the other end. When a good clean block is done it should be let go. When one team is called for charging, and on the other end they knock a player down nothing is called, even though though they had position. When walking is called on a team even though their pivot foot has not moved. When walking is called and they are standing still, these can be improved on. But I want to again praise the jc-cb refs, and it just reminds me of ho w it could be. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  14. It was good to meet devilish and wildstang last nite. The more I have been around JC people the more I am impressed with their knowledge of the game, and the genuine goodness of the people.I want to say that it was good to see hollie get some well deserved honors for the game. She has played good all year and I personally enjoyed watching her. The team concept and the togetherness of the fans, and the best coach in the state make for a winning program. Now the referees this year have been the worst at their job I have ever seen. Can we do anything about it. Maybe. When the season is over get the films of the games, and send them to the proper people in authority. Then work to see that they should be tested and screened before accepted for those positions. There are many people out there that would do these jobs, given the chance. They take away from the game, they confuse the players, and like the finals in Livingston when they could have stepped in and controlled the situation by calling a techinal on the unruly crowd. They remind me of the wrestling I used to watch years ago. The refs were confused, allways against the good guys, and looking the other way when something serious happened. I think with some effort this can be improved. I try to not say much at games, but when outright bad calls are made that are unfair and wrong, it is hard to be quite. Don"t be surprised if they try to steal the jc/cr game for cr. That is to bad for the parents that have shelled out time and money for these athletes, and the effort these players have put into it. jc is like the new england pats. They are a target because of their success. Go jc. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  15. Sulphur city queen was a regular in past. Very knowledgeable of sports topics, fair minded in valuations. Highly respected by other members of coacht.
  16. I got your note, and be assured that when I said I was wrong I meant it. Also I also beleive in fun, and in trying to get as much enjoyment out of each day as possible. I beleive that you and devilish have the best of good in mind. In reading your statement it reminded me of myself, and growing up in a less than desirable home and of a lot of hard knots inmy life also. I get a little impatient at people that hurt children needlessly. Some kids can take abuse, some can't. I think we are on the same page on this. I have seen many young kids life hurt, and it affected their adulthood, from their experiences in sports. It should be to help them grow, mature, learn fairness, and good clean fun. But you help remind me that you don't kill a fly with a baseball bat. That I need to set an example, and maybe with good people like you we can make a difference. Anyway enjoy your posts keep up the fight, and don't let anyone tell you not to have fun.
  17. Good to hear from sulphur city queen. I think you cast a vote for Laken. Thank you for doing this and I believe you already know that in my talks with her she loves the people of RBS and wishes them the best.I have never heard her say anything negative about RBS or the people there. Things sometime work for the best, It is my hope that RBS and all schools work for the good of the players, and that good things for you and your team abound.
  18. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Recently I put a post on here, at a time when my emotions were running high. It was the truth but we must be careful how we use the truth as well as untruths. Innocent people may get hurt. There had been some acusations against players, as well as their parents on here. The accusations were lies and it bothered me when they attacked the young players. Also there were some things that went on in the awards selection that were not right. So I attacked the ones that were envolved, I attacked develish, and stang because they were joking about it. I did not use a young ladies name and her mothers name but I was guilty of the same thing that I was fighting. So I admit I used poor judgment and hereby apoligize to all mentioned in this post. My objective is to see young peoples lives improved by their association in sports. That it would futher help them in their adult lives. I do not think there has been recruiting of players in 7A. I do not think anyone has done anything wrong. Me or anyone else needs to think our choice of words when we are on difficult topics. If you love other peoples kids as your own, and insist on fairness it will go a long way. May 7A acheive greatness in the years to come.
  19. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I want to respond to devilish and stang. I live in rbs area, I now am not envolved in their sports. I go back quite a way. I still believe in fairness, and I believe that sports should improve the lives of young athletes, not be damageing to their future. I listened to some of the rbs-pickett county game and the rbs-c-range game. There is no doubt the players for rbs gave 100% and played above and beyond in these games. I commend them. Now as to the comments I made earlier, did rbs have the support they needed from the movers and shakers , that they needed in the past, and this year.? Did they have the coaching that they need? Have they had a history of playing the players that some parents told the coach to play? Yes, yes and yes. Who cares, everyone at every school should care. That our young people, learn fairness, sportsmanship, goodness, and build a character for the rest of their lives, that will stay with them forever. Now if you want to joke about this it is your right. I just think it puts our young people on the wrong road when situations like this exist. RBS lost one senior that hurt them. They had one to transfer. Two great players quit. All I am saying is young people are not being lifted up at this program. A few years ago they had a great team. They had to play a girl, that was from a well to do family. This cost them several games that year. They had people on the bench much better. This year they have a girl playing hurt. She is a good girl. But she should not have been playing. They played all year with four and a half players. Her mother is the reason. I hear what you say it is none of my business. RBS could have finished in the upper four teams or maybe higher if the coach had done what he should have. Is this fair to the others, and what message does it send. True Jim Brown will get by fine without the coach of the year award. Why should he have to? why not do it right. We need to send a different message to our young people. I may lose but, I believe if this is allowed to be the norm rather than isolated, our sports will deteriate, and 7A will not be on top for long. We need more strenght in our district, more than two teams. More than that we need to stand for integrity. The people at rbs need to wakeup, and also the entire district.
  20. Devilish I have tryed to ignore you. You go from stirring things up, to acting like you are a peacemaker. You are not as cute as you think. You do not know what you are talking about. I know that Larry White is envolved in keeping coach brown from getting this award. Also you don't need to pacify these nuts who get on here and slander young players. My posts are facts I do not get on here with rumors. I really like coach rogers and his wife, they are fine people. This year he did not do as much with his material as did jim brown. This is not a comedy show you need to state facts and when in doubt ask for more information. If you support jackson county you would help if you acted like you are for the other team. The people I know, have talked to are good people at JC. They love the game and do not want to cause problems. Just to enjoy the game. One last time at RBS the parents must change their attitude, and they need new coaches. They are reaping what they have sowed, and they like to lose as long as their kids are playing. If you need more check it out and talk to people who have been thru the fire there. Muffin is far from the person you say he is. He hates JC and and is not positive about anything or knowledgeable.
  21. muffin and 86, you should not even be allowed on here. I know coach t trys to give everyone a chance, but you should have some knowledge before you could correspond with informed people. There has been no recruiting of players as far as anyone knows at JC or C-range. Miss Philips is very deserving of her award and all of the others. If you did not have the honorable Larry White stirring the pot, and the others coaches have a little backbone, they would have had to vote Jim Brown coach of the year. Larry White should have had it really, he ran off two great players, one transfered because of his system one good player graduated, and he managed to go from 1 to the bottom in one year. Giving it to him makes as much sense as purposely passing over Jim Brown. You go Larry. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  22. First of all you are wrong. Next may I say you are ignorant, you are a liar, and the lowest of human form. Now the mother did not have contact with JIM BROWN until the decision was made to transfer to JC. RBS parents did not want Laken there. She did not want to leave. She was forced out by inhuman treatment. Have you got this so far. If you want to see what was said, go to Study Hall then JC then there is a newspaper story telling what the mother said. I'm betting you don't look because you don,t want to know the truth. Jim Brown was approached by the mother and daughter and he was asked if she could come to JC. Now if any of you that want to keep slandering these people believe your lies, then send your kid to RBS and see how they fair. Many have been in this system, many have been drove to quit, because of the conditions. They can't even get along with their neighbor Macon County High because they couldn't get along. They don't play them now.
  23. I agree with the previous poster, I cringe when I read comments that build animosity between teammates. Why can't we just say these two players are both deserving of the award instead of saying this one is better than that one.... Can you even begin to imagine what that does to these two young ladies and their families and most of all, their team? Here's a thought for all of us today.... Our words can build up or tear down.... What are your words doing? Good luck to both Andrews and Daniels and the Collinwood team! Rise above all the negative words and thoughts, be the difference you want so desperately to see in everyone else!!!
  24. Here is a question to think about....Does it diminish the title or award being given when the coaches who vote made their decision based on who they liked or didn't like more? Where is the integrity in voting like this? If a person has integrity, that person will make sound decisions that are based on uprightness, honesty, and sincerity. Coach Brown without a doubt deserved Coach of the Year. Even if you are making the argument that Coach Brown and Coach Rogers are equal in the abilities to coach, the fact remains that Coach Brown lead his team to 1st place in the district. I hope I can always be fair and consistent when dealing with other people; I hope I won't let my prejudice feelings interfere with who is deserving of any recognition!
  25. I agree that if a coach is recruiting he should be punished severely. I just don't think this happens very much if any. Most transfers come about because they are in a bad system. Some happen because they feel that it will benefit them in every way. Good programs don't have to worry. The players don't leave. Now we don't need anymore rules, that try to force young people to stay in hostile, bad situations. Do you know of any transfers that made the move, and were worse off as a whole?
