  1. That sounds about right. FCS always reloads and is always a contender. RBS has everybody back, they should be the team to beat. Watertown lost some good players; and they have a new coach - but they will compete. Gordonsville lost 4 players, but still have some guys that can play. Trousdale is very athletic and can compete for the top spot as well. No doubt this will be an exciting season once again. G-ville could surprise.
  2. Should be 2 good games tomorrow night. FCS has turned it up another notch...I think the Tigers will be ready. These 2 teams have played some great games this year, and I'm sure this one will be no different. Good luck to both teams...mostly the Tigers. Tighten up the shoes, it's gonna be fun!
  3. That sounds pretty good. Hope the boys from G'-ville can pull it off. Don't think anyone expected either of these teams to be playing for the District Tournament Championship, or that G'-ville would have won the Regular Season Championship. Congats and good luck on Tues. yeah well they won BOTH Great team effort tonight. Good defensive effort only allowing 12 points in the second half. Great job G'-ville...Keep it going. The Tiger Den, or "Madhouse on Main Street" will be rock'in on Saturday night!
  4. That sounds pretty good. Hope the boys from G'-ville can pull it off. Don't think anyone expected either of these teams to be playing for the District Tournament Championship, or that G'-ville would have won the Regular Season Championship. Congats and good luck on Tues.
  5. A well played game...G-ville comes away with the win 53-47! Great job, keep it up!
  6. The Tigers played well last night winning 65-56. A lot of players stepping their game up. Bane was unconcious. Keep it going Tigers. How is the player for Trousdale that hurt his foot/ankle?
  7. Who has predicted for them to do anything for them to be over rated or under rated?
  8. Yeah, Gordonsville has 2 scrimmages i hear so far.. Nov. 3 at Westmoreland and Nov. 6 at Home against M.J.C.A.. We will see how they do with out some fball players.. Who impressed you that is returning from there squad? And who is th eye on for JC? Not real sure of the names. I don't know that they had a lot of stand-out players returning except for Woodmore. Don't really know that much about JC. Heard they are suppose to be good, and have some "bigs" about 6'7", 6'6". I think Clay Co. is still suppose to be pretty good too.
  9. I saw them some. Saw a lot of teams in AA. Livingston and Station Camp were fun to watch.
  10. Yeah that's true...but, they still have a pretty good team without the football players. I believe they got the Hutchinson boy M.J.C.A. (Don't know if he'll be eligible to play this year though).
  11. They do have some good players returning. Did you see them play a lot last year?
  12. You can never tell. A new group of guys wanting to go out and prove themselves. I think they could be a good team. It's a competitive district, and it is going to be hard to knock-off Friendship and Trousdale. Both of those teams have some good size and speed.
  13. No doubt, you have to go with Friendship. They return everyone except one. Then probably Trousdale, they only lost one. Gordonsville lost 5 from last year. Watertown lost 4. Red Boiling Springs (the new kid on the block) is still fairly young, lost 1, but have a lot of experience playing those young kids last year will be better than some think.
  14. The Hall of Fame game at Jackson County may not be a good game to judge either team on. Gordonsville could very well have about 4 or 5 players still in football. I think they have about 8 players that don't play football, and half of them are freshmen. But, we"ll see on Nov. 17th...can"t wait for the season to get started.
  15. The Game Between Gordonsville and Clay Co. has been changed to be played Thursday night, 7:00 PM, at Turney Ford Field at Gordonsville
  16. How good is Bledsoe this year? Gordonsville plays them in the Cannon Co. Thanksgiving Classic.
  17. Gordonsville opens up with Pickett Co. at home, then goes to Jackson Co. Both are Hall of Fame games. How do you think these games will play out. Gordonsville will likely have half of their team still playing football.
  18. MTCS (Middle Tennessee Christian School)? They are not in this district; neither is Mt. Juliet Christian School...they use to be in, but now they are out. The teams in District 8A are: Friendship, Gordonsville, Red Boiling Springs, Trousdale Co., and Watertown. Should be a competitive district. I would think Friendship (only lost 1 player), and Trousdale (only lost 1 player) would be the front-runners. But, we'll see...should be fun!
  19. Better hope you get to shoot some freethrows. The last game they played there was against Gordonsville. Clay shot 26 of 45 from the line while Gordonsville was 8 of 9.
  20. I agree with you. Not taking anything away from your team, you guys are good (have the record to prove it); but found it a little hard to believe no more fouls were called against the Bulldogs with their aggressive style of play. But all-in-all...I don't believe those officials did a very good job. It appeared that ticky tack fouls were called, and some obvious banging was not. Good luck to the Bulldogs!
  21. It was terrible alright! I think they wound up 26 of 45 from the line; G-ville was 8 of 9. G-ville had their chances. Didn't shoot very well. 4 of the 5 starters fouled out, Vaden was the only starter left. Hard to figure where that many fouls come from when playing a zone all night; while Clay was pressing, trapping, clawing all night from the opening tip. Good effort Blue!
  22. The boys from G'ville played a great game on both offense and defense tonight. It's always tough to play at Trousdale, but the Tigers led at the half by about 15, and increased it to 20+ late in the third and into the fourth. Vaden played like he can scoring close to 30 with about 5 or 6 (3's). Woodmore had another big game pulling a double-double on rebounds and points. Key players look to be getting into a grove. Great game Tigers! Keep it going...GO BIG BLUE!
  23. Great effort tonight Tigers. Played a much better game than the first time. Turnovers were about equal. Officiating was terrible both ways. Hopefully these two teams can meet again in the Region Tournament. Keep getting better G-ville.
  24. Are you talking about this year's DeKalb West team? I know they have played Gordonsville Jr High 3 times, and lost 2 of those times. DeKalb lost to the Jr. Tigers in their own "Best of the West" Tourney and at the Forks River Tourney.
