Congratulations to Smyrna, I don??™t think any one could have beat ya??™ll Saturday night.

With NGA going undefeated this year and city having a good year as well the Falcons should have several talented young men coming up. It may not make any difference, but I wish our ninth graders came strait into the high school program. That would give them an extra year to learn the system, the schemes and the plays. Don't get me wrong, I know Todd, and he's a good coach but his system has to be different from that of Coach T's because they are two different men. Anyway, I will be there to support the Falcons, hopefully, at every game next year just like this year. Good luck FALCONS!!

I wish we had these freshmen playing for the Falcons too. I don??™t think most people outside of Lincoln County realize we only have sophomores, juniors and seniors on our high school team. Giving Coach Thompson another year to work with these players could only help the program. The coaches at City and NGA do a great job with these young men, but it still takes a year away form our high school team.

I think it is really funny how every year Warren County fans predict that they will beat us and finish ahead of us in the region and every year in recent memory we dominate them... I think Warren Co. is moving in the right direction but I don't know how you can say you will beat us when we have beaten you by a combined 197-48 the last five years...

 

Coffee County will be more athletic next year but not as big....

Coffee County had a great team this past season, it is good to see ya'll playing strong again. I really hope all of our region teams come back strong, I am tired of hearing all of this crap about how great 4-5A is. Our time will come.

I, like a lot of people, got really mad when ONE OF OUR OWN TEAM PARENTS got on these boards where the players and everybody else can see and slandered them. I did run and shoot off my mouth, for which I apologize. I have no 'indictment" of lc and their previous players are irrelevant to the conversation. Lc used to dress the same act the same and even the falcons on the back was the same. their biggest advantage is their team approach and how they came at you ion waves for 48 minutes. That is no longer the case anymore.

I think you are mistaken 82cat. Oakland did beat Blackman, but Blackman finished the season 1-6, 4-6. Oakland finished the season 1-6, 3-7, this puts Oakland at the bottom.

I have been to almost all the practices, camps and all of the games. I think I know this team a little better than someone who might see them once a year.

I too have been around football for a few years. I played for the old Fayetteville Central High Tigers, before there was a Lincoln County High School.

If I am not mistaken, he get the halo off in the next week or two. After the halo, he will be a neck brace while doing physical therepy.

I think 82cat was trying to make a good point but he didn't think clearly in posting by singling out a former player as an indictment of the entire program. I also think he was referring to the loss to Blackman as the last place Region 4 team, but his failure to consider the Falcon win over a Region 4 team that beat Smyrna indicates his thinking is a bit foggy, or maybe he just can't resist the urge to talk trash.

I know I am splitting hairs here jabbo, but I believe Oakland came out on the bottom of that pile. lol

 

Man, I thought we would get some good posts and predictions. I figured at least some region 4 fans would take a few shots on this topic about how they are superior and so on. It's a shame that Oakland can have 30 pages on prospects for a new coach and Region 3 fans can't even fill up one page about how next year is looking.

I think Lincoln County will field another great team. We are loosing 19 seniors, a good number of them starters, but we have 20-25 Juniors who are ready to step up and go to work. Most of them have seen a lot of action, so it will be nothing new for them to be under the Friday Night Lights. Go Falcons!

Its good to see taht there are still positive people with class in LC. You guys keep up the support and dont let the parents of the bench sitters and quitters tarnish a tradition rich program.

anybody that talks about purposely injuring a hs kid is way way out of line.

 

our qb got hurt by a lineman rolling up on his left leg after a short pass and the lineman made sure to take lets say an exagerated roll, on purpose? who knows but with statements like this it sure makes you wonder.

 

I have made the point people expect miracles every year and that is a burden but in my opinion as far as teams with the ability to win the state championship lc is not in that hunt at all and to expect a each year is unrealsitic.

 

I will say this I have been around for a long time and seen lots of lc teams and there is no question the team discipline and unity that used to be their calling card and I believe had a lot to do with their success is no longer evident.

I beleive Lc68 was talking about taking out FlyingFalconMom, not another hs player. But, it was still over the top.

Your opinion is your opinion, I just don't happen to agree with it.

As for Lincoln County being in the hunt, WE WILL ALWAYS BE IN THE HUNT, but sometimes the hunt might end a little sooner then we want.

I agree this is going to be a great game between two great teams and I will be there to cheer them on. But, if I had to pick a winner it would be Smyrna for the repeat. Why? Well, just so Lincoln County can say they were put out by the best. lol

lc is not very good talent wise but anybody that has been around long enough and doesn't see the change in lc players attitude has their head in the sand.

82cat I have always respected your opinion and yes Lc68 did go over the top with his post. Lc68 was a great player and is a friend of mine but this is not the way this young man conducts himself and should not be a reflection of the rest of the team. I think he and the rest of the Falcon players, past and present, are frustrated. People come on these boards and put down THEIR team and THEIR coach and they are getting really tired of it. And the worst part is some of these people are from Lincoln County and call themselves supporters of the team. The Falcons posted a 9-3 season, they won their Region, but they still get trashed on here.

But I have to ask you this, how is one player, from a past team, coming on this board and posting a message "a total lack of discipline and control"? Coach Thompson has no contorl over what people post.

And I take offense to you calling us a "slightly below average football team". This team, and this program, is a good as any in the state and you never know who is going to win on any given Friday night.

And Smyrna put us out of the playoffs, not your last place team.

First, to the 2007 Seniors, thanks for a great year. Winning the Region and posting a 9-3 season is something you can and will always be proud of. And thanks for letting this old man hang around and enjoy it with you, it??™s been great. Best of luck to you all.

Now for the 2008 season. Yes, we are losing some great players, but that??™s just high school football, as we all know. But look at what we have coming back! Wil Golden, Britton Twyman, Jeremy Dollar, Blake Sharp, Antwuan Gordon, Deon Bryson, Stewart Perrin, Brandon Jean, Tydrel Johnson, TJ Glover, Logan Carlisle, Daniel Pitts, Joseph Henderson, Nick Mearse, Russell Crabtreee, Nathan Bryan, Lawson Milstead, Jake Barns, Matt Williams, Max Pitts, Matthew Kass and so many others I can??™t name off the top of my head. Sorry guys I??™m getting old, didn??™t mean to leave anyone out. We have a ton of talent returning and I??™m sure some great young men coming up from Fayetteville City and NGA. I??™m looking forward to another great year of Lincoln County Football!!

I know that football has only been over just a couple of weeks, but I am already hearing chat about next years team not being near as good as this years for the following reasons: (i) We are losing some outstanding seniors (ii) we are losing 19 seniors out of 50 players (iii) Coaching has stalemated and (iv) younger group not as talented since they haven't been worked with as much.

 

Any thoughts?

You may be a Falcon Mom but you sure don't sound much like a Falcon Supporter. Coach Louis Thompson is one of the BEST and most RESPECTED coaches in Tennessee and we are lucky to have him at Lincoln County.

Your son has a t-shirt that Coach Thompson gave to each player this past season; it has "Team" in great big letters and "ME" in smaller letters underneath. I think someone needs to explain to you what that t-shirt means.
