I think he just wanted to check out our personnel more than anything. Those 2 probably know what each other run pretty well I'm guessing. May have our hands full with John Battle tonight. I only stayed and watched them a few minutes after our game Tue. though. Got a pretty good guard and when the shot goes up (on either end) they ALL crashed the boards. Be a good game for us to work on boxin out!

Actually it was made public and there were several outside applicants that applied for the job,believe it or not, but no teaching positions open at this time. That kinda narrows the field.............or does it?

The creek handled U.H. pretty well the other night,too bad it didn't count in district race.

Sorry bro, where I've been working there is no reception. No excuses tho. Seen Ned at our game with Patrick Henry last night. Crafty,crafty Carp didn't show him much. Kept it pretty vanilla, stayed man 2 man all night full and half court. Maybe ran 3 offensive plays? But we didn't have to run too much either. Can't wait till district play starts!

Maybe 5 way,don't forget N.Green. I said it would be a war from the start. Alot of people have picked us to win it but we lost 4 starters plus the 6th man. I mean that is comparable to what the Dogs lost. By no means am I saying we CAN'T win it but we are awefully young and have some depth issues.(good,but YOUNG depth)We have 1 sr. starter, compared to 4 last year. Don't have a kid on the team that is over 6'2". Now with that being said we will experience some growing pains for sure, but I like this bunch come turney time.

You'd have my support.(course that ain't sayin much ) Just ready for them to name one so I'll know if mine is playing next year or not.(his decision,not mine) I'm doin my best to stay out of it.(although it'll shock me if he decides not to) But hey, I wouldn't want him to ever have to go through another repeat of last year. Not sure I could go through another repeat of last year(without going to jail, rehab,or worse )

I've heard a little different. Heard it from someone who is usually pretty reliable BUT they may have been told wrong.(if so,by the horse's mouth no less.) Really only 3 possible choices. Lost a tough one in ot to Watauga last night. Dang but we play hard! I'm ready to play a team closer to our classification to see how we match up. (Although I think I have a pretty good idea ) Think we are pretty good right now (even at 0-4) Two things that we have to work at are (1) Need to box out a little better, considering we don't have a player over 6'1".(2) Free Throws,Foul Shots,Free Throws,Foul Shots,Free Throws,Foul Shots!!!! Gotta make 'em even when those legs get tired. All in all though, last night was the most complete game we've played against the best team we've played.

Where the heck are the U.H people at?What have you got returning besides the Crowe kid? Any more kids with that type of height and athletisism? Killed West Gr. by 23 and J.Frank White was a blowout also. Just wondering how you fellas are going to figure into this mess.

Crockett beat Unaka 78-73 Thursday. Beat us 93-86 in 4ot's saturday. (our 3rd game in 16 hrs by the way) I think we will be just fine this year. Yes we do lack a little in the height dept., but we make up for it with good help D' and hustle. 0-3 but all 3 losses were to pretty darn good teams(C.Gap,Sull.East,and Crockett) and all were single digit losses. Lots of room for improvement? definatly. But I'm liking the chemistry and attitude of this bunch. Our frosh(Logan and Zach) turned in some quality minutes sat. which will be huge down the road also. You are going to have foul trouble playing our style.(lest we forget Hyden and M.Potter were in foul trouble quite a few times last year)Just goes with the territory. Unaka may very well be the team to beat this year, but the Landers and Dogs aren't that far behind. You think I'm jokin' but I'm not. Whomever comes out of this at years end will be battle tested for sure.

How do you make a "statement" against a 1-8 team?

Don't kid yourself,Hampton will be a handful this year. Especially after they get the ones playing football back in the fold. They will be young,Like my Landers,but by turney time......they'll be a tough out for anybody.

Easier done when you are 8-1 rather than 1-8. What happens when you paid the price all offseason and are 1-8? Tried to tell mine for 8 weeks that it'll get better but.......It's hard for him to believe ole pop when he's walked off that field every fri. heartbroken because he played his guts out and ...well...you know the rest. Guess I'll tell him the same thing I always tell him,A few plays you'll get beat(can't win em all) but on plays you have an opportunity to make a play don't let lack of effort keep you from it. I love the saying "play with character and cruelty" Hope thats what we do tomorrow night. Uknoit, hope all you guys have a safe trip up Whitehead Hill and see you at the game. By the way that boy looked good in the jr. high game up here last night.I think he led all scorers (had to have the most steals.) Played some ferocious D. Tough little bunch with some solid depth.

Only thing I worry bout is goin 3 and out on O and playin D all the time. If we can't move the ball it's tough to constantly play D(ala s. east) or even Tenn. vs. Bama. Eventually it takes a toll on you.(Especially as young as we are) Easy to let it snowball. Gonna have to change some things up on O. Gee, we may even have to put the ball in the AIR this week. Of course our O coord. is 2 simple 2 realize this so we will run the same ole same ole.(changed the play at the line last week and picked up 50 yds and his comment was don't EVER audsible out of my call again: Dumber than I thought cause with 3.4 seconds to go b4 the half he calls a 1 reciever route from the 24 yd. line)GENIOUS!!!!!PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE STICK TO BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wham 6 with sophs and frosh playin tackle and guard, good luck LANDERS.I know this year has sucked but Play hard and play with effort.
