I'm not making ANY excuses..........what are YOU talking about? Both teams had options.....you don't know why we did what we had to do as we don't know why you did what you had to do. Makes no difference whether it was Senior night or not, Dyersburg scored more runs than DC did last night. Congratulations to the TEAM! They did have a fire in them and rightfully so. Two great teams played giving the fans a great game. And you are right, no impact on district standings and I'll say it again.....regular season standings mean nothing to me. It's what happens during tournament play that matters!

Are you serious? He did chose another night, but D'burg didn't want it. We already had a non-district game scheduled for last night and it was Senior night......... We played 4 district games last week so there was no way we were doing it then. Last home game is Senior night. No biggie, just thought it funny you had to mention, but it's cool. Usually teams don't play well on nights like homecoming or senior nights......focus not really where it should be.

I actually said earlier that I was over it; however, when other adults condone it, it bothers me. So, Chad may have mouthed...you think no other player mouthed? They, both teams, were mouthing but again they are TEENAGERS and it's a BIG RIVAL. MC is an adult that knows better.......and as I said before, he can yell, scream, sing, dance, whatever, just don't point out a player the way he did. Can any of you agree he shouldn't have said that? It's not a personal attack on him at all. I don't know the man personally, just know he said something he shouldn't have while Shea was up to bat. We all have done it at some time or another, just own up to it and don't do it again.

Funny you have to add "on their Senior Night".

Rival or not, no parent should call out a player like that. Just my opinion......I see no justification.

In all honesty I didn't see either one that well. I was focused more on the runner to first, missing the play at 2nd. Would LOVE to see both teams succeed into the state playoffs.......that is possible right?

I don't see JP doing it on purpose. He'd rather strike him out. The first hit was by a freshman and he didn't do it on purpose either. **but I understand your curiosity after last season and some trash talk**

TOTALLY agree with you. Was that the starting pitcher, Jessie McNeal, behind the plate afterwards? Whoever it was....very good!

Yep, they did. Two outs, runner on 3rd, batter lobs down first baseline, pitcher grabs and tags runner for 3rd out. Other team's coach argued that run counted because he crossed before tag AND explained that once he made tag it took the force off the runner coming from 3rd home. ???????????????????????????????? I thought 1st base was ALWAYS a FORCE OUT. ???? Makes no sence to me at all.

Yeah they won the game in a close one. congratulations.......too bad most I remember is how ugly and disrespectful some fans acted. Then there is a man (MC) yelling, "He's the one we want, #11 is who we want, we want him!"..... when he [#11] was up to bat. How immature! Shame on YOU! His dad and I told him he needed to be using he own bat that we spent a lot of money on......he did and hasn't gotten a hit since. Think we'll go back to the other bat. I have and never heard trash talk. I know one of their coaches, well, my husband does and I really don't think he would allow it to continue.....if it was in deed trash talk. Everyone claps or cheers when their player gets a break on an error. It's not making fun of the player that made the error, just glad he continued to run thru first and got on base. It's called "on base percentage" it counts. Have you not ever clapped when the outfielder dropped a fly ball? When it's you/your kid/your player? Please don't misunderstand, I do not approve of trash talk, I've just not ever heard it from the OC bench or their croud. You want to hear trash talk, just listen to Milan fans or USJ fans AND FOR THE RECORD THEY ARE NOT ALL THAT WAY!!! Only heard 3-4 from Milan and about the same from USJ. And I'm sure DC, Dyersburg, OC, CC, Westview, etc. all have a few of that bellow louder than they should. GOOD LUCK TO DISTRICT 13AA AND MY CHOCTAW BOYS!!!!

I don't recall OC being "class-less" at our game. They yelled or clapped, but that's typical. Not sure if this David Wray is the guy or not, but one of the umpires from the Obion County area likes to "advise" players while on the field and I've heard him telling coaches what they should or shouldn't do. Kinda odd, but oh well. Do think he should stick to umpiring and stop trying to coach. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Ok, so I've bit my tongue long enough............I'd just like to say that my son, Nick Newell, did quite well in the game vs. Obion Central @ OC! He went 4 for 4: two singles, a 2 run homer & a 3 run homer. We were down 3-1 when he hit the first one to tie up the game. I am quite proud and thought it worth mentioning! Hum.....I think we can hold our own. Not saying we will move up and win it all, just saying we will definately work hard with the talent we have.....and we DO have talent! 1st game....Colton Harris (Freshman) pitched for DC. Not sure about Milan 2nd game... Shea Thomas(Sr) pitched for DC [with Chad Gammons pitching last inn] and Christrian Coleman pitched most of game for Milan. Then brought in a lefty for last 2 inn.
