  1. Ok, I was going to delete this one b/c it's duplicate (accident) but I'm interested to know why you think that portion is not true? Our batter was not hugging the plate; therefore, I'm stating he was in the imaginary box. Wild pitch, batter attempts to get out of the way, but in doing so he raised his elbow/arm & it hits him. Umpire gave him his base & the opposing team went balistic stating he was out of batters box. ??????? there was NO BATTER'S BOX. How would you not get your base if you were hit by pitch while standing in the batter's box? I'm not being ugly, just really trying to understand. IF there are rules set regarding this issue, why is there any question as to whether to draw the box or not?
  2. as far as the tournament NOT HAVING batter's box---we've always had them. However; Northside never puts them down, yet they were complaining about 3 batters in a row getting hit. One guy did raise his elbow/arm in effort to move but it still got him. He was not hugging the plate; therefore, I say he was in the box (even tho there wasn't one at all). So my question is: Since the district tournament is being held at Northside, will they be made to mark the batter's box? Or SHOULD they be made to mark it?
  3. Okay so ppl are still talking about the terrible call last season in the district 13AAA championship game between Ja ckson Northside & Dyer County. The district Tournament is at Jackson Northside this year........should the batters box be required at this tournament? I KNOW I WOULD PREFER THEM! I think they should because Some fans don't realize that even if you raise your arm & the ball hits you.....if you are in that box you get your base!

  5. I agree with you about not being too early for players to get ready; however, your statement/question was to list the top 10 2013 players. It IS....WAS too early because we've not seen them this year. Now that practices have started perhaps some of you CAN make a list, as someone has done. Please don't misunderstand....it's NEVER too early to start promoting your son and certainly NEVER too early for your son to start working, attending camps, etc. Dyer County's 2013 player is Seth King. thanks, have a WONDERFUL SEASON!
  6. SERIOUSLY?.............you must be a 2013 player, huh? this is too far away to even think about!!!
  7. Any idea when/where the next one will be?
  8. I do not think he plays his favorites...no. However; I will say that any coach will make a line up based on what he's seen during practice and last few games. If a kid isn't hitting at all, I'm sorry, but they usually sit. You put kids in the line up and give them a chance and sometimes they come through for you and sometimes they don't. Do we have kids riding the bench that are good....ABSOLUTELY! But that is going to happen when you have a lot of talent in one program. You can't justify pulling a kid if they are doing well. Do I agree with EVERYTHING a coach does....NO; but I'm not the coach and usually there are reasons behind their decisions that no one else knows about and never will.
  9. Dear Justafan1234, I have come to the conclusion you are just as someone stated in a previous post.... A TROLL! In addition, you are quite the joke! You, justafan1234, should reveille your true identity so we all are aware and stir clear of such a sinister person. It would be most obvious that you are one jealous person of DCHS, our baseball program and our coach. I'm so sorry you could not be a part of our great organization and our "ORANGE" family; but perhaps one day you overcome all of this hostility and be at peace with yourself. Have a nice day!
  10. Thank you very much! He's a junior....turning 17 tomorrow in fact. Thank you for covering this. I will let Sgt. Newell know where he can listen to your broadcast. Wish you well!
  11. Ok, I've had enough of this crap from you all. Preston Ozment is nothing like you are trying to portray him! If you don't like him, fine, BUT DO NOT start telling lies and disrespecting OUR coach! You all are a bunch a whinny cowards who like to come on here and bash other teams, fans and coaches! I WISH you couldn't "hide" behind screen names because I'd be willing to bet most of you would not come on here saying what you do if we KNEW who you were! CONGRATULATIONS TO MY DYER COUNTY CHOCTAW BASEBALL TEAM! I AM SO VERY PROUD OF YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE THIS YEAR! YOU ARE AN AWESOME BUNCH OF YOUNG MEN WITH BRIGHT FUTURES. GOD BLESS ALL OF MY CHOCTAW FAMILY! FOREVER ORANGE!!!
  12. Oh NO....you did not just say that! lol.....just odd after the event the other night with the DC vs NS at Brighton! Best of luck to you Arlington! And thanks!
  13. I'm sorry I didn't see this before leaving. but I guess you heard he was lead off for Dyer County. Wish we could have brought home the win, but Good Luck Bartlett! You have a great team & pitching staff!!!
  14. Hey, thanks so much! We do have a broadcast team...Dyersburg live . com but I doubt they come to Bartlett. Only got started this year and being doing home games. Will it be available via internet? My husband is in Iraq right now and tries to listen when he can and would LOVE to hear this game. Please advise and thanks for the info. Should be a very good game! **wait, I think I asked a dumb question....looks like it IS online.*** sorry...
  15. I think he meant he has to do it to compete with Memphis teams. He's accusing DC coach of recruiting. Same o Same o. Just someone that likes to stir up trouble that's all.
  16. How rude of you. You asked for our opinions then you bash them? Just because you don't like their choice doesn't make it wrong. I wish I knew just how many District Coach of the Year titles he's received, but that really doesn't make him the best coach in the state. It goes deeper than just the ins and outs of baseball. Preston Ozment truly cares about his players. I trust him to take my son anywhere because I know he's going to take care of him. That being said, I agree with smallball and list Preston Ozment as one of the Best Coaches in the State!
  17. My thoughts and prayers go to this family! He is a true hero and will never be forgotten! From A West TN Military Family........UNITED WE STAND! All to often, I see young people, old people and middle aged people stand for the National Anthem and continue to talk, text and laugh during this moment or two. It's not much to ask for people to stop for just a few minutes. To take time out to give thanks, honor to those who choose to serve our country and willing to lay their lives on the line to defend our freedom and the freedom of others. I sit, watch this and become very offended.....as my husband is currently missing his son's Junior year of baseball because of his call of duty to serve in Q-West Iraq. Please teach your children the proper thing to do during the National Anthem~PLEASE?.
  18. So...tell me "justafan1234" you wouldn't complain at all huh? You would sit quietly as your team took that and NEVER say one word? Wow...I admire you and wish you the very best because you ARE the stellar citizen and ball fan. Good for you! However; that doesn't work for me. I have to let it out. Also, you have a choice not to click on our thread and read through. And you were at Every one of our State Tournament games last year? Funny, me too and I don't recall crying at all! We were all too busy chanting our WAR CHANT! You must have mistaken us for someone else. We are the ORANGE TEAM and we WON the AA State Tournament last year. Good luck to you and your team.
  19. Darlin....I'm not a dad. Try using your context clues! And who said anything about "laughing" with the other team? The umpires where knocking knuckles with the NS players as they entered the field. But as I said....it's over and yes, our team shall do just that.....GO PLAY BALL CHOCTAWS!
  20. They were protected by Tipton County and Brighton City police. By the way....upon entering the field two of the officials were hitting knuckles with 3-4 of the NS players and the coach. And YES I SAW THAT WITH MY OWN EYES. I wish I'd had my camera rolling then because it was quite disturbing.
  21. Smallball......this is a video clip of a few batters from both sides. All appear to be in the same spot. Guess it doesn't matter at this point, but here it is anyway. Thanks! Congratulations DC CHOCTAWS!!! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! Keep Playing HARD and NEVER BACK DOWN!!!!
  22. ANOTHER BATTER THAT IS IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT.....BUT NO "OUT OF BOX" CALLED!!!! But there were no runs scored on that one.....go figure! I hope that umpire has a few SLEEPLESS nights over that TERRIBLE CALL!!!!!
  23. HOW CAN HE EVEN TELL IF HE'S IN OR OUT OF THE BOX. I have multiple video of same position on both sides and that "out of the box" is NEVER called.
