  1. I went to the NS / Arlington game tonight, and guess what? No Batter's Boxes...I'm not talking about them being worn down in the 7th....I was there before the first pitch, and there were not any....I thought it was a rule you had to at least start a game with boxes....guess those rules don't apply for NorthSide, not that anything could have helped them tonight....season over.
  2. HMMM!!!!!!! I thought I had heard all of this before....like Yogi said "it seemed like Deja Vu all over again"....Oh yea, that was me way back in March trying to tell all of you that Tansil-Gentry was done....but no one especially the D's and GC Pioneer would even hear of it......you had to be blinded or at least wearing columbia blue and red glasses not to see this one coming........hate to say I told you so, but......
  3. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE GET SPARKS SPORTS TO FIX THEIR WEB UPDATES!!!!! STILL SHOWING 22-21 HUMBOLDT IN THE 1ST HALF......THEY DID THE SAME THING TO THE GIRLS LAST WEEK!!!!! TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE GAMES!!!! FIX IT PLEASE!!!!! THANK YOU
  4. From a very good source, this is more than rumor, if he wins it all, what's the point in coming back, the UTM job won't be open in 2 years, just this year. He's already been at the college level once, but was an asst. for Insell at MTSU...(when your at the boro, look at the team banners for the sun belt in the rafters, (Denver to Fla. Intl.(Miami)) I think the travel is a little easier in the OVC, what is it 5 hrs to E. Kentucky.....and he would be there to sign Butler, Rechis, and Fussell, all he would have to do is go to Kenya or somewhere and get a 6'5' girl and he would win the OVC.......
  5. If things go as everyone thinks they will tomorrow.....Gibson Co. -gold ball and all.......does McMillan go to UTM-womens job and does the legend (Russell) return to the bench as head man at GC?
  6. I don't really have a preference either way, was just stating my opinion, and Dexter was very young when he was tabbed to start that program. Madison went exactly the opposite way, Patterson was coming off a state championship at Peabody. And if you can remember back that far, Pratt was about 2 and 25 before he turned things around at Crockett. And don't kid yourself, whoever gets the job will have some type of connection.....I have seen both guys mentioned, and they ARE up and coming coaches, neither will be in middle school much longer. They will have 2 years before playing a varsity schedule. How many current HS coaches will want to be out of varsity coaching for 2 years???? just something to think about...
  7. Phil Rogers, former long-time JCM AD is the new principal, he selected the football coach, a relative unknown asst. from Crockett Co., and young. I would look for the same type moves in basketball. Someone young and familiar with the school and school system. Based on this, one name looks to surface to me, Adam Vaughan, current Middle school girls coach. Played on state tourney teams at Greenfield, son of long time educator Jackie Vaughan, so he is somewhat connected. As for the boys, I think several will apply but again look for youth. Phil will try to build the programs from the ground up the right way, and not quickly with someone just coming in from another program for a year or two. On the boys side, I would say two guys to look at would be the asst. coach for Shepard at Milan, and the Lowery kid at Dyer Middle, they won the TNT two years ago. May wind up being some other folks but don't be suprised if they are young too.
  8. There must have been either a server error last night through this morning or a major internet outage through out Dyer Co during the same time frame..... No posts from ADSMom or any of the Choctaw nation after their fall from the undefeated ranks last night at the OC..........great game and great atmosphere.....
  9. JUST SO YOU KNOW -- tigertiger -- I KNOW WHO THE HEAD OF OFFICIALS IS...AND HE WAS IN DYERSBURG CALLING THE AA DISTRICT....I KNOW....I WAS THERE WATCHING....AND HE WAS UMPIRING......SO WHOMEVER TOLD YOU HE WAS THE HEAD OFFICIAL WAS JERKING YOUR CHAIN....PROBABLY WASN'T EVEN AN OFFICIAL
  10. THE REPORT I HEARD WAS THAT HALLS WAS UP 3-0, A RUNNER ON 1ST WITH 2 OUTS......AND THE BEST HALLS CAN DO IS SAY THE OFFICIALS SCREWED IT UP......THAT'S A STRETCH IF YOU ASK ME.....AND I DON'T HAVE A DOG IN THE HUNT......ALSO HEARD THE WINNING RUN SCORED ON A ROUTINE GROUND BALL TO 3RD THAT THE 3RD BASEMAN BOOTED AND THEN DIDN'T CLEAR THE MOUND ON THE THROW TO 1ST (ABOUT 4 HOPS TO 1ST)...WHICH ALLOWED THE WINNING RUN TO SCORE.... SO AGAIN I SAY, THE BEST YOU GOT IS THE UMPS???????? AT SOME POINT IN LIFE WE ALL HAVE TO GROW UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN ACTIONS....
  11. I agree it was a great game..with more to come in the region.....the 1st quarter was almost unbelievable, Humboldt 35 - UC 32......the only thing wrong was the one REF and the fouls....14 total fouls in the 1st quarter and the one hot shot ref called 10 or 11 of them.....Talk about wanting to be the show....2 great teams...20 great athletes....let em play.....he does it everytime I see him do a game.
  12. You guys haven't even mentioned Boyd and Easley at Westview. I ve seen em all and Westview is playing the best ball for now, as their record in the District shows.
  13. Don't count out Madison and Coach Patterson.
  14. Prediction: Madison vs. Jackson Co. in the title game. What about Steve Patterson, one of the greatest coaches ever. This is his 4th school to take to state, Gibson Co. in the 80's, SouthSide in the 90's, Peabody in 2000-2003, & now in only their 3rd season, Madison. Has any other coach accomplished this?
  15. I really hope you also listened to the 5:30pm game before you booked a hotel or bought tickets for Saturday...... congrats on the win, etc... but don't think you will be playing on Saturday after Peabody on Friday........ might want to take your bride to the mall or one of the parks on Saturday.......
