  1. Your point was that Hood was more valuable to his team than Jackson. My argument is that Jackson is just as valuable to his. I'm quite sure WS supporting cast could probably whip Hoods teammates. You act just because Joe Jackson plays for WS, the rest of the players are 5 star players. You made the point about Tyler Hoods team would be at the bottom and would have been eliminated from tournament play...the same would hold true without Jackson playing for White Station. Read the name genious "asgoodasioncewas" "downtown247" thanks for establishing the point you have no idea what you are talking about. Never said they were stars, just saying they are not garbage.
  2. Lets take a look at my point from the start..... I know, I have seen him play he is the best. Not getting it his sophmore year was understandable , his junior year was a joke, He will finally get it this year. Hints the "Jackson is the the best player in the State has been for the past 3 years", just think that WS deserves a little more respect than dumping the rest of the kids to the bottom of the heep. Bring down a player's team does not lift them up. He is a great player (one of our state's best ever) playing with other good players = great team.
  3. Did you play DB? That is some quick back peddalling.
  4. Still not debating the fact that he should be Mr. Basketball, just condricting the idea that White Station would finish last. UNC lost more than 1 player Lawson, Green, Ellington, some gut wearing #50. Yes they will slip not to the bottom. Just my thought, we will see next year i guess.
  5. What difference do winning games before Joe Jackson has to do with anything....No it's not extreme, if you take Joe Jackson off of WS, they would be battling for last with Hamilton and Mitchell. So you think that despite their many championships and their history of being one of the best programs in tennessee, that the loss of one (GREAT) player will result in them scrapping the bottom of the barrell. Will they be sitting on top, most likely not, but LAST. White Station folks when was the last time you were LAST in the district. White Station seems to go from one Mr. Basketball contender to the next.
  6. Seems like White Station might have won a few games before Joe Jackson was there. Taking one player from White Station and then they become last, might be a little extreme. Don't get me wrong Jackson is the the best player in the State has been for the past 3 years.
  7. I will give you that. I don't think TN team are often Nationally ranked that is because it does not have as many nationally ranked players.
  8. That is my point. There is a depth factor which seperates A and AAA. To play a few good games vs. AAA school does not mean you can compete on the AAA level. That is not entended to be a slap at A but a completement to AAA. Watch the sessions, you will notice the difference. I don't think TN has a Nationally ranked team year in and out though.
  9. So if there is no difference in the classifications then why do we have them? So clue me in, Manassas would have put out White Station or Eygpt?
  10. If A schools can compete with AAA night in night out in Memphis then maybe the AAA schools are not as good as advertised. Teams will have let down games, no one is perfect. I have seen Manassas play they are very good, but if that would be the best that Memphis could send for AAA it would be a down year in Memphis.
  11. Didn't Sexton miss most of the 2nd half. So what you are saying is you could not guard a Sexton-less Temple team... good luck winning the state tournament.
  12. Why do you think the Skogans came to Temple? Temple was established as a winning program. Temple first won by out coaching and out working opponents, the first championship team was a mix of those work horses and talented players. I will admit will the addition of more talent the emphasise has change, and does not resemble teams of old but that is what sucessful programs do they adapt to their talent. The walls may be painted, with new aplliances; but the foundation does not change.
  13. You forgot the man that put it all together. The architect of the Temple program is Kevin Templeton, if you don't know that you don't know Temple basketball. It is hard to underacheiving when you are still playing.
  14. 98- 99 Temple was 27-8 with a lose in short lived Section Tournament, 99-00 Caleb Marcum (then player) hurt his knee and missed much of the season (he was the best player). A young Jake Scogan also broke an arm or a wrist, and missed all of the season. So the down year were not as down as you think. I think that they were eliminated by CCS, the state champs in 99-00.
