  1. I'm not trying to be your parent, my friend. FRA has had great success in minor sports. But they are not considered an athletic elite. Maybe someday, but certainly not now.

What a completely ignorant thing for you to say. There is no such thing as a minor sport. Just because sports like golf, bowling, tennis, etc. are not covered greatly like football and basketball does not mean that they are "minor." Someone who works and excels at, say, tennis is just a great of athelete as a star football player. Just because their sport is not as greatly celebrated as others means absolutely nothing and that it's minor. Being a "minor sport" athlete, if I can call myself that, for my high school tenure, I take great offense that you, or anyone, would stoop to that level of calling any kind of sport "minor."

And FRA has been school with many state champioships and state championship appearances. And just so you know, if you consider basketball a "major" sport, with some research I found FRA's Men's Basketball team made it to state tournament in the 2004-2005 season and the Girl's Team made it to state and lost a Sectional game in the last 5 years. That's succesful in a "major" sport.

  2. FRA has a play day this weekend in Martin. Just got several players off the state champion soccer team. So they are just adjusting back to basketball. Canady and Jackson will be strong at the post.

Yes, they will be, but can they handle McAlister?

And from what I've heard, FRA's got one heck of a player who's a 7th grader. You can laugh at me, but from what I've heard, she can beat you in 1-on-1.

  3. I agree as said that Pearl Cohn will give CPA a run for their money, I mean, they're the only 9AA team to make it to Section last year. And they only really lost Rashad Mason. He was a solid player, but by no means good. Carter, JoJo and D. Mason will be tough to stop, even with Z, Miller, and Anderson.

But yes, I think CPA has what it takes to take it to State, not necessarily win it, but to get there. And now with Liberty Tech's Fab Five from last year graduated, their chance rises. Who else is there to compete with?

  4. 1. CPA - Z, Miller, Anderson will be hard to stop all year... and they're juniors.

    2. Lipscomb - As you said, they are Lipscomb. J. Simpson, C. Simpson, Webb, Clayton, Hunt- very athletic team.

    3. Pearl Cohn - Carter and Mason are a good combination.

    4. FRA - A few losses from last year but still have a fairly strong roster. Kennedy is a sharp-shooter.

    5. MLK - No Gerald. Possibly a giant killer as District play begins.

    6. Hume Fogg - Still have a few players from last year, fight for not last.

    7. East Literature - New addition- I saw them at the Belmont Camp and they really didn't show much.

    8. Ezell Harding - Same team as last year... unfortunatley.

  5. its a little too obvious that this is payne denman, I mean he comes out of no where with this statement and his name is the den???? but maybe he can win state next year since JOE DAVID won't be there

I'm going to go ahead and say he won't. He's a great player, he got what? Top 5 in the TN Junior State Am. He's got a little bit of competition... but not a lot.

  6. Jordan[/b]":r3cv69pz]

Station Camp is one hot team for state they almost have a state championship in the bag. At region Macon could not even keep up the final points were Station Camp=26 and Macon=33! Station Camp also has one amazing freshman by the name of Charlie Jordan he is running low 17's and is more than likely going to break 17. He has the potential. He is also running in there #1 runner's shadow which is the junior Nick Gammon. I think Charlie can work some rookie magic and beat him at state though. I am rooting for you STATION CAMP!!!!!!!!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Hmm... I wonder who you are.

I'm mad, I've been waiting all year to finally see some good cross country running at state and now I can't... Good luck to all who run...

    ...except Lipscomb.

  7. Isn't hunter green a color?

QUOTE("Wikipedia")Hunter green is a color that is a representation of the color worn by hunters in the 19th century. Most hunters began wearing the color olive drab instead of hunter green about the beginning of the 20th century. [1] Today, some hunters still wear hunter green clothes or hunter green bandanas.

    Just kidding.

But seriously, let them play in the tournament and see who is, indeed, better. Old Fort is not that difficult of a course and each of them will be able to do what they please with it. Green has a few people gunning for him, as does David in their respective classifications.

  8. haha did someone just say that dylan waters is bettter than joe david wow that is a joke joe david has signed with ole miss and dylan waters has signed with lee university. joe david is definately the best player in the state he shot a 63 in his district tournament and i played with him in regions and he shot 3 under and he really should have shot at least 6 under bc the greens were terrible. he hit every fairway and every green he hit the ball 320 yards and was inside the 150 on every par 5. this guy is insane i think he will make it on the tour. ive played with dylan waters also and he cant touch joe and no one can.

I was completely kidding... I played Dylan in a playoff and played with him in Region when he shot his 68. I also know Joe pretty well. I think I know who you are, showstopper389, and you know exactly how Dylan acts while playing.

Joe is a real classy person, he doesn't let his golf skill make his head big and if he does talk the talk, he can back it up.

Joe will beat Dylan at state... While playing with Dylan, he made the mistake of telling Joe that he was -4... Joe came back and caught him. Dylan cannot beat Joe.

And there's only one person I've seen slightly compete with Joe, Tyler Smith of FRA. They both fired twin 66s in the first match of the year. They're also pretty good friends.

  9. When is the next major/bigger meet in middle TN that would showcase the state's best runners? I want to watch it because only seeing State XC last year and seeing some of the guys like Coniglio, Johnson, Mahaney, and Davis in State for Track gives me nothing on which to base my complete bias for my school. I only care because a bunch of my friends run/have ran XC.
